  • they only have 110 volt there, lol we have 230-250v in houses and 3 phase is 415v.

  • i don't know about an electric sports car. the porsche 918 spyder would be the biggest compromise i could accept but i definitely need the roaring of a high performance internal combustion engine when i kick down...

  • @MexxProtect If you want the sound of a gas-burning beast, get a sound module for it. Then upload whatever sound you want. Ferrari, you got it. Porshe, that too. Corvette, uh huh. Spaceship, yep. Afterburner, oh yeah!

  • One thing I don't understand is couldn't they have JVC to relable it as "Tesla" instead of JVC staring at you? LOL, just nit picking.

  • 220V * 70A = 15,400watts LOL!!! I'd hate to see your electric bill.

  • Thats Typical US Boys, cant build Cars, only use Parts from other Car Producer like Lotus.....to build a Car, OOOoo MAN HEY US BOYS, PLEASE BUILD SELF A CAR, PLEASE DONT USE PARTS FROM THE NATIONS IN EUROPE TO BUILD A RUBBISH LIKE THIS. THIS IS A BLAME FOR US!"

  • @19834883 DONT FORGET THE LAME CHEVY VOLT...

  • great review and great car as well fuck oil motha fuckas and fuck you detroit lol

  • Why can't you take the rotational force from the wheels and attach high out put alternators some how and pipe that juice back into the batteries to get more range?

  • @ThennyDlux i was tinking aboaut that, too...

  • If you have two empty spots available in your panel, you can install a 2-pole 80AMP breaker (which will give you the continuous 70AMPS at 208V), then feed that through a buck/booster to bump it up to 220V / 70AMPS.

Any professional electrician can do this, and it is perfectly legal, as long as you don't exceed the total current rating of the panel (in which case there should be a main panel breaker what will trip).

  • Actually 220V can be ready available from your home panel. All home electrical panels currently provide 208V by tapping out of 2 phases (or 208V single phase at they call it). You will then need a buck/booster to boost the voltage from 208 to 220 (about $500). Most 3 bedroom homes have an electrical panel with about 100AMPS available on tap (which is currently shared among all your appliances, lights, AC, etc...).

  • home electrics would need to be modified because the largest line available is the 30amp cooker.

  • I'd like very much for my car to be low noise - I would find it futuristic - But I'd also like double glass windows- mabee with warm air circulation to defrost in the winter

  • This dude provided a great amount of info. I want one of those Roadsters.

  • Lol! 220 Volt. Germans won't have trouble charging the car. 220-240 V is home standard

  • But can you get 70 amps out of a single circuit? Unlikely, I think. That's industrial-grade.

  • just ask the electritian to install the damn thing. End of story.

  • @Nichen It was a serious question. Home wiring here in the US isn't designed to handle more than 20-40A for an entire household. An electrician won't just install something that breaks code.

  • Personally, if I had a Tesla Roadster I would be happy with the 40 AMP charger. That would charge the car from dead empty to full in 5-6 hours. Longbottle I've seen several house-owners using the 70 amps charger in the US....so perhaps it's not as difficult as you say.

  • @Nichen I don't know who's using the 70A charger here, but 70A is more than I can pull from every breaker in my house at once.

  • Well why don't you go out there and do some research about it then

  • "and all of it available from RPM 1"

    WOOOOOT

  • much better review than topgear

    thanks

  • wow so many teslas in one room im drooling

  • Awesome quality and video!

    Awesome car too!
