@goreillaface That is actually a very common misconception. The writing style is completely different from Edgar Allen Poe. The song was written by John Debney for the 1993 film Hocus Pocus. It is both a very good song and poem though.

Yeah I don't believe its Edgar who wrote this. The lyrics are not exactly Edgar's style, I agree. The lyrics also seem naive or somewhat a "half-writer's block" seemed at some point. Edgar would write better lyrics for the singer of this poem. He may not understand me of what I would ask him to right but he understands what I want him to write for this song.
