Hell Girl Season 1 Anime DVD Review from Haunted Flower

episode 23 ticked me off an inocent person that did nothing yet gets sent to hell for no reason

I seen a couple of episodes of hell girl on netflix. It was really good at first but by the 2nd episode it started getting repetitive so i stopped watching it. don't know if i'll start watching it again though.

By the way Black Butler is a bad ass anime. I'm a huge fan, read the magna, watched the 1st season (which was amazing) and i'm in the middle of the 2nd season.

look, i'm on episode 4 and i kept getting the feeling that this anime series was going to be repetitive, and the only reason i'm going through all this trouble is because there is 3 seasons (possibly more in the future, not sure though) and i hate ending animes when they get really juicy so to speak. So, all i want to know is will the first season begin a storyline any time soon, what episode, and does it get better going into further seasons? cause i dont want to waste my time.

@merclydead It's going to be repetitive for quite a while. Each episode is lather, rinse, repeat. About halfway through, someone starts looking into the existence of Hell Girl and what could be happening. Then that storyline advances every other episode till the last quarter of the season where it's all about those people. I haven't seen the second and third seasons so I can't promise they are super different.

You should watch the other series. You get to see alot more of her character. :)

I thought this was a good anime, Dose anyone know if there is manga... it would be "hell girl" or "Junko Shojo".

Hell Girl a very nice series, it one that makes you question yourself if you would ever send someone to hell. Along with some of what the people who call her go through can be meant on a personal level. It's super affective *shot*

I remember which eps your talking about with the animals, the 2nd one really upset me.

Good luck with Black Butler, I've only seen 4 eps and so far its okay. Through I really wanna make a video using the bit of BB dialog done in the last That Anime Show XD

@Fayamv haha, That Anime Show is the best! Anyone who doesn't know about it, it's a podcast made by real Anime insiders, hosted by Terri Doty and J. Michael Tatum, and it's a great way to get to know your favorite voice actors and directors as guests.

It sounds so easy to just send someone to hell but each person has a personal struggle with it, regardless of how badly they are suffering at the hands of someone else. The price to pay has to make you THINK about it, not do it on a whim.

When I read the description about Hell Girl it sounded way too dark. I heard good things about Black Butler but it sounds dark too.

@QuatermassMan I used to, all my videos used to, but I have two strikes against my account for copyright claims and if I get a third, I lose my account and I don't want to do that. I stopped taking risks, no images, no songs that aren't safe to use. It's dull I know, but with my business growing as it is, I can't afford the risk of getting sued by someone. :-(

yaay gina,this is one of my favorite animes, I love the unique premise of it although I checked out the last season of it and wasn't as good. I know which episode you're talking about the animal cruelty bit, it really made me want to send those people to hell, but that was what makes this series so affective. Most of the time the people that got sent to hell truly deserve it.and I love that we find out about hell girl's background in the later episodes

@TheShadowgirl007 Yeah with the animal episodes I was like, "Why are you still thinking about this?? Either send them to hell or go to the cops NOW before any other animals get hurt!!" It was just so sad. I was very relieved we got a glimpse into how Hell GIrl came to be since she was such a mysterious character. I'd like to know more about how the Three Straws came to be in her life, but alas they don't go into that in the first season, maybe one of the later ones.

It's pretty enlightening once you find out why they are the way they are, especially how loyal they are to her.Essentially season one is mostly focused on her origins.. Will look forward to you reviewing the second season if/when you get to it :) and yes would love your thoughts on black butler, although I've seen a few episodes myself but it hasn't generated my interest to stick to the series lol.

@Darkmessiah24 It used to be really cheap on Amazon when I bought it before Christmas, like $20 or less for this set so I thought I got a REALLY good bargain. Then I jumped on yesterday to see if those other seasons were available anywhere and suddenly there's only a couple copies left around $80?? Yikes! I'm glad I got mine when I did, I didn't realize it was going to be scarce. That happens so much with anime, there's a bunch of it, then suddenly no one has it.

@tetsubo57 Of course, since it isn't called "Fun Girl" haha. I think some of it is way harsher than "Death Note" since "Death Note" at least has a few comedic beats in it and the deaths are usually quick. In "Hell Girl", there's a lot more torture and mind games before you even go to the fires.
