horror11 Your logical answers and solid arguments statements/rebuttals make clear sense. I salute your insightful perspective both with regards to the iran 2009 election and modern politics in general. "I 2nd that motion!" lol
Maybe because he knew that the election was already being covered by the international media and they would continue to report on the protests. He didn't have to know- he could have purposely positioned himself in front of the camera that he saw or perhaps he was hoping he'd get lucky or he could have drawn attention to himself before he showed the sign. English is the current international language and it is taught from grade 7 onwards in Iran.
"Maybe because he knew that the election was already being covered by the international media"
or most likely as the zionists plots work he was already booked and paid from western media on that position to ask the dumb question "where is my vote" :)

i do not trust our media aslong they cover up the 911 lies.
Under Ahmadinejad the human rights situation has gotten worse and I sent the links related to that in my PM to you. It isn't just westerners who have spoken out, but also pro-democracy, anti-foreign interference Iranians like Akbar Ganji, Shirin Ebadi, and Grand Ayatollah Montazeri who have spoken out (mention them in PM as well). You should check out that PM if you have not already.
iranians have the right to vote, iranian woman have equal rights this is way more rights than any muslim has in any of the zionist controled arab nations in middle east.
americans have their biggest military bases in the worst islamic tyrannys on earth, how it comes our western media do not care for our allied saudi arabians freedom where woman arent even allowed to set a foot on the street without permission?
pls dont try to tell us iran is worse than western controlled tyrannys:)
Iran is pretty bad and so are the countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Two wrongs don't make a right. I don't like either nation, so again I believe your point doesn't make things any better for the Iranian regime. Iranian women do not have equal rights. All you have to do is research this and you will see this isn't the case. I'm PM you some stuff if you want.
i say lets start to free the western controlled arab nations first as naturally they are the easiest countrys to change regimes into democracys because we control them already:)
iran has way more democracy and the ppl have equal rights to study at university and voting rights than in any of our controlled countrys.
if the west is really interested in human rights we start with saudi arabia and free the ppl there:)
Not necessarily because people may be resistive of change there. I'm for it, but the Iranian people have more experience with a democratic structure/system. It's not entirely equal at university where even religious minorities have to pass a test in islamic theology just to get in. Atheists would also not be allowed to attend and there is some discrimnation against minorities like the Bahai.
and what would be change if musavi would get in power?he was already in power and he was a hardliner even more than ahmedinijad, all this bs about portaying musavi as human rights worker and saviour is only possible bcause ppl have no idea about musavis past.
the only diference between ahmidinijad and musavi is : musavi does not question the holocaust even though he does not recognise israel and refers to zionist israel and usa as the satan.
Humans change just as Montazeri used to be a hard-liner and has changed. Even if Mousavi hasn't changed and he was capitulated into power through the people then he will basically be forced to come through on his reform promises because if he doesn't the same thing could happen to him. My other hope is that Khamenei is removed from power and Montazeri replaces him while implementing reforms on SL's power. He no longer considers the US the Great Satan and his pro-human rights.
The US is not the only country who has done this. Iran's ally Russia has done this many times throughout history. Also, two wrong do not make a right. So Iran's defense for the domestic human rights abuses over the last 30 years is the US' sins? Please respond to my PM. We can talk more through PM.
"The US is not the only country who has done this"
thus usa is playing the defender of human rights while many wars and atrocties and coups of democratic elected ppl are commited by the usa.
"Iran's ally Russia has done this many times throughout history."
russians history is very short, u mix up ussr with todays russia.
and still i never heared russians repeat all day they are the saviors for the whole mankind while destroying at same time human rights in southamerican countrys
Yes, Russia was the center of the USSR and before that there was the Russian Empire. Now again this is about Iran. I presented you evidence in my PM that showed there may indeed be fraud and that there reasons to believe these protests emanate directly from the people. Now can we please move this to a PM conversation?
Here's the thing, whether or not Bush cheated is irrelevant to the situation in Iran. Our country didn't dissolve into sectarian violence as a result, our government is not an oppressive authoritarian unelected regime, our votes mean something (they mean little, but at least that is something).
This is the CIA news!!!,why they do not say Moussavi was CIA's bussines man in the Iran-Contras scandal(research)¡???!!,Western democracy is a fraud, unaccountable electronic votes and more in USA,France,Mexico, etc, western democracy=Jewish masonic zionist mafia covered dictatorship!!
I liked that was mentioned about the 2000 and 2004 elections in America; how no media outlets in America bothered to pay attention. But, why we are so interested in Iran and the speculated election scandal over there. Very interesting....
IT involves the United States because Iran is blaming all of this on them. I support the Iranian people but their not going to win this. All their going to find is death and more suffering. Iran is at this moment a dictatorship all the Iranian people have no voice and the Iranian government doesn't care about their voices. The US only wants to help. And no the US won't back away since this very much includes them.
Look, I hate the regime. But loads of people on youtube are turning this into a debate about the US, Israel, Shah, headscarves, religion, etc. This is then abused by the regime declaring "outside anti-Islamic interference". Thats why I want to say that this is not about the US. The Iranian people are asking for change themselves. We must support them in the best way that we can.
Petition, write, facebook. Focus the debate on the evil of the regime itself, the spotlight must be on Khameini.
THIS IS THE IRANIAN PEOPLE's Fight! FUCK OFF AMERICA.. Since when did you cared about rigged elections?? You wanted to attack IRAN you Bigots, now all of a sudden you care? Why did you see an opportunity? did you see a way so you can crawl your way up again in Iran? FUCK OFF!!
Yes im aware of those allegations that happened. I just want America to stay away from Iran.. I dont want the world to think that the US is somewhat responsible for what the Iranians are doing now.. The Iranians wanted this, no body told them to go to the streets. I just hope they will not let another US puppet SHAH to rule them,,
CIA officer Kermit Roosevelt, Jr. carried out the operation planned by CIA agent Donald Wilber. One version of the CIA history, written by Wilber, referred to the operation as TPAJAX.
During the coup, Roosevelt and Wilber bribed Iranian government officials, reporters, and businessmen. The deposed Iranian leader, Mossadegh, was taken to jail and Iranian General Fazlollah Zahedi named himself prime minister in the new, pro-western government.
The 1953 Iranian coup deposed the democratically-elected government of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammed Mosaddeq.
The coup was carried out by the US administration of Dwight D. Eisenhower in a covert action advocated by Secretary of State John Foster Dulles under the supervision of his brother Allen Dulles, the Director of Central Intelligence. The coup was organized by the United States' CIA and the United Kingdom's MI6, two spy agencies that aided royalists and mutinous Iranian army officers.
On June 29, 2008, Seymour Hersh reported in the New Yorker: Late last year, Congress agreed to a request from President Bush to fund a major escalation of covert operations against Iran, according to current and former military, intelligence, and congressional sources. These operations, for which the President sought up to four hundred million dollars, were described in a Presidential Finding signed by Bush, and are designed to destabilize the countrys religious leadership.
A few days previously, the Telegraph reported on May 16, 2007, that Bush administration neocon warmonger John Bolton told the Telegraph that a US military attack on Iran would be a last option after economic sanctions and attempts to foment a popular revolution had failed.
On May 27, 2007, the London Telegraph independently reported: Mr. Bush has signed an official document endorsing CIA plans for a propaganda and disinformation campaign intended to destabilize, and eventually topple, the theocratic rule of the mullahs.
On May 23, 2007, Brian Ross and Richard Esposito reported on ABC News: The CIA has received secret presidential approval to mount a covert black operation to destabilize the Iranian government, current and former officials in the intelligence community tell ABC News.
The CIA and MI6 put the Ayatollahs into power. Ahmadinejad has Jewish origins. The Glenrothes by-election was, reportedly, rigged. Obama and his mother, reportedly, worked for the CIA.
Well, I don't think US will criticize Egypt out of all nations. Egypt is the 1st Arab country to recognize Israel and they recieve over 2 billion$ aid every year from US. As long as Mubarak is kneeling down to Israelians, US don't care if he hold s elections or not..
Furthermore ,i wasnt paying attention to politics or elections.Only in the last 3 years after anti-semetic forces intruded into my world, have i taken notice not just my country but others as well. What happens in one country affects all of us now.Time to grow up world and put things that have divided us for so long behind us.
First of thats true Bush stole both elections . 2nd, if the west are pro democratic governments, why don't they criticize Mubarak or Ali Abdalla Salah of Yemen? Is elementry politics not even high school. If you don't agree with me I will criticize you, regardless.Another thing ,when you see the US and EU nagotiating they know something, otherwise they would of attacked Iran long time ago like Iraq. I guess is time to Iran to become middle east super power.
amareto35- one country at a time.I blogged once and put all dictators on notice that the world tires of extremism in all its forms.Whats happening in Iran is between the people and a totalitarian regime that is realizing they are losing control due to democracy, freedom of speech and human rights.Iranians are protected -by the UN which Iran is a member nation of.
By the size of the crowds in the street there is a greater democracy inIran than the USA. There were barely 100s of people in the streets in Florida or elsewhere protesting Bush's 2000 election fraud steal. Of course, it didn't help when the candidate Gore was hiding out in Washington and refused to go to Florida to fight or his own election.
No he didn't, jew. If you got your information from sources other than jewish zionist controlled spin factories, you would know that. But since you get all your news from your fellow zionist spin merchants, all you know is the bigoted lies they feed you.
It is because of people like you that over 2 million people have died in Iraq and Afghanistan and Palestine is a concentration camp. And that's just scratching the surface of your disgusting crimes.
Dear John Q Public, Mass civil disobedience cures the common cough due to cold, herpies, influenza, ass to mouth, and hoof and mouth. It increases libedo and enhances core body strength. Women can expect to gain or loose a full cup size; men, a full jock size. Civil disobedience whitens teeth while increasing IQ. Common side effects may include loss of life and liberty, spontaneous projectile hail, and burning lung or eyes. Consult your back bone if change is right for you.
I always felt Ahmadinejad was popular in Iran, mostly because of his Bush-like excuses (outside forces coming to destroy our way of life), the difference is that he is demonstrably right. There may have been fraud, but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion because our media says so, or even because there are protests. People don't get what they want, so they get pissy, doesn't mean they won. Either way we win, we get to ratchet up the old "spreading democracy" bs. Iran won't be free until the US is
It's a psyops campaign against the American people. Why are all the protest signs in the images I've seen ALL in English? Because they're made for an American TV audience.
It is just more point-the-finger-at-them bullshit. It helps distract us from the dismal state we are in.
This is the result of more millions of American tax dollars flooding in and buying an opposition and protesters, more than anything else. It's just like all those "colored revolutions."
i bet when a crow dropping lands on your head it must be some anti-american conspiracy for you, as they say, when you have a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. have you ever thought that english is the language of the defacto middle class and young in asia, a section that is not only better able to spell than you but have started to create their own media, technology and connections without your dollar and instructions.
You must know nothing at all of modern American history, or Ukraine, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan . . . And you have no idea of the vacuous waste of breath that is American TV news. Newspapers aren't much better.
So this a bourgeois revolt? How exclusive! No peasants allowed! Stop studying English and start studying Mandarin, you're gonna need it. Watch your spelling!
There are legitimate protests. Yet I don't believe there was any fraud or a conspiracy, just disappointment. There is no ACTUAL PROOF!
What did John Adams say about 'seeking' imaginary monsters abroad? Ahmadinejaad is portrayed as too much of a convenient bogeyman in the western media: Iran will be nuked if he becomes the next president of that country through fraud or election: I don't know you but this demonisation of him is eerily similliar to the demonisation of Saddam and we all know how that went didn't we?
There are tons of evidence that point to election fraud. The campaign head office of Mousavi was attacked, and all comouters broken. There are ballots found in dumpsters, google & find pictures on online. Just look at the number of protestors and number of ballots Mousavi got. Mayor of Tehran said there were 3M people protesting, and in Tehran Mousavi only got 3.3M votes!!!! WHAT MORE PROOF DO YOU WANT!
The United States government, the neo-cons especially, wants Ahmadinejad in power - so long as Iran is seen to present a psychotic or extremist face to the world it will make it easier for the U.S. to get the UN to slap more sanctions on them. Mousavi is the last person they want in power, hence why Obama is avoiding the whole issue.
Ahmadinejad is the best face of a villian they have. He has made crazy comments and definite hate-speech but that isn't even enough. Politicans have to lie and say he threatened to wipe Israel off the map which is pure bullshit. The fact that that he is not Irans top leader and that he has nominal power is not adressed.
But what really is the difference between a election being given to someone by a Guardian Council compared to by the Supreme Court?
it's amazing how involved the Iranian people are. no matter what happened, you'll never see protests like this in North America on a disputed election. we barely go out and vote! says something about our relative 'democracies'
around 1:48 on the video it talked about the a poll that was taken 3 weeks before the election that stated that Ahmadenijad was winning by alot! And the poll was taken by some group (sorry cant remember the name) that said the poll pple supported republicans like McCain.
I learned more in this one video than from hours of watching hours of talking heads in the US media blather on and on about Ahmadinejad. I'm no supporter of Ahmadinejad, and I still think it's the case that fraud was used in the recent election, but it's kinda silly for the Western media to automatically jump to the conclusion that Ahmadinejad stole the election.
Some other things that are not mentioned is that the poll was done three weeks before the election, and some MAJOR events happened in that three weeks, including television debates.
Secondly, any polling expert will tell you that you can never trust polling in a situation of intimidation, i.e. a police state like Iran.
Thirdly, there is no historical precedent for such polling in Iran, as it is prohibited. No way to tell how reflective polls tend to be of actual results in that setting.
I can't believe the Real News is doing this? This is bullshit. The question is not "Does U.S. poll rule out fraud in Iran?" The question is how in the hell do all these people outside Iran get to be so sure there was Fraud. The conclusion that the pollsters came to was that A'jad's was in the lead pre-election and there is some evidence that the results are genuine and no proof that the election was stolen.
I thought the piece made it pretty clear at the beginning how absurd it was that the Western was ruling on the Iranian election, with the quote about 2000 and 2004.
The important thing to note is that these guys aren't pollsters at all, they are a thinktank. The question is, why were they doing this poll in the first place? Why do their results allow them to claim legitimacy for whatever possible outcome? And the piece never suggests that fraud happened, just that the poll doesn't rule it out.
It doesn't matter at all who conducted the poll and why they conducted it. All that matters is whether the poll was scientific and was it accurate and nobody is saying that it wasn't scientific/accurate.
The guys who did the poll came to the conclusion that the results of the election were not completely expected, but there is no reason to suspect that there was fraud. No proof. The real news should not be asking, "can we rule it out..." They should be asking "where is the proof of fraud?"
Because the TFT report forecasted that Ahmadi can't win the first round and that there will be a second round of election between only the top two candidates. That 2nd round of elections did not happen my friend. This means that an indep US poll with right wing ties actually under estimated Ahmadi's soppurt.
In the poll they said they expected A'jad to will a plurality and they expected a run off. After getting the election results they said in the Post, "Okay, we didn't expect that but there is no evidence of fraud, in fact there is evidence in our poll that supports the outcome of the election and no evidence of fraud. Realnews didn't say the poll was inaccurate. They just arbitrarily mentioned that McCain is on the board of the org. But that doesn't matter if the poll was scientific and accurate.
The point is that now we know undisputedly that TFT wants Ahmadinejad in charge, otherwise why would they cherry pick facts from their survey to give legimency to him? No where in the Washington Post article it mentions that there was a 2nd election round-off forcasted!
The point of the article is not that there should have been a run-off. They predicted that and they were wrong about it, for one reason or another. The point of the article is that the US media and gov't is acting like there was an undeniable fraud and when in fact there is no evidence of fraud and in fact there is evidence that the election results are real. Iran has nothing to prove as the accused, the accuser should have to produce evidence.
What cherry picking? Look, people arguing both sides of this thing can gather evidence from this poll for their position if the evidence exists. And also IF THE POLLS IS ACCURATE. Here no one is questioning the accuracy of the poll. The pro a'jad people have evidence. And the anti a'jad people have none to gather.
it's certainly not arbitrary if McCain and Frist are on the board, given how much certain elements of the American power structure depend upon the existence of an Iranian boogeyman. further, all the poll's authors might reasonably say is that *their poll* does not provide clear evidence of fraud - as obviously their poll does nothing to contradict reports of fraud from within Iran or the obvious opinion of millions of Iranians putting themselves in harms way to protest the official results.
It is worth noting that certain American interests would like to see A'jad in power. But that is a separate story isn't it? Of Course [that story is "why do certain US elements want A'jad in power? ] He're we're talking about whether this election was fraudulent and if the poll is SCIENTIFIC AND ACCURATE it doesn't matter who conducted the poll. No one is questioning the accuracy....
no, it's a related story. the issue here is *not* the accuracy of the poll, but the changing *interpretation of the poll's results*. thus, the possible motivations behind this change are directly relevant. again, the quality of the polling is not at issue; only the shifting interpretation of the results.
The problem you're missing is that Iran doesn't have to prove that the Elections were honest. They are not making the accusations here. Shouldn't the accusers be the ones that must come up with the evidence? That's the way it goes in the west in "fair legal systems." And isn't that what we want to impose on the rest of the world? So the accusers should have to come up with the evidence.
Poll was not scientific/accurate. How could a scientific and accurate poll support two COMPLETELY different conclusions! Before the election, they conclude Ahmadinejad will get below 50%, 6 days later they write an Op-Ed saying that their poll should be taken into consideration when Ahmadinejad gets 64%.
Read TFT's Mission Statement: "By determining the facts first, we help CREATE effective policies to counter extremism worldwide."
Create? Doesn't sound like scientific polling to me!
the principle and significant accusers in this case are the millions of Iranians risking their well-being to protest in the streets. as for their ability to come up with evidence: they're hardly in a position to do so. whatever the reality, i doubt those Iranians are taking such extreme measures because of common interpretation of American polling data.
It does not serve McCain and Frist's interest then does it to have their pollsters saying that "there's no reason to think there was election fraud." That kind of kills the boogeyman factor in the case doesn't it.
Well most people just don't understand why anyone in another country would resent the US, especially in Iran. I mean all we've ever done is try to help them produce oil and make them open to trade with us. So what if we assassinated a few leaders here, installed a dictator there. We would have gotten rid of the shah eventually, we got rid of saddam right? Iranians are just ungrateful....That I'm only jokin goes with out sayin but since there's alot of diphshits out there I gotta make that clear.
I think when people like Robert Parry suggest that the 2004 election may have been stolen, it's usually just strictly out of sour grapes and contempt for the the politics of George W. Bush.
2000 was obviously questionable. But if it was stolen, the Republicans were definitely a lot smarter about it than Khamenei/Ahmadinejad.
Results weren't announced immediately afterwards. You didn't see San Francisco go 2 to 1 for Bush either.
So, a right wing U.S. organization says Ahmadinejad is legit? Of course, they want to bomb Iran and discredit President Obama. Who funds the Real News? You cannot trust anything commercial because corporations and their deep pockets manipulate left wing organizations, just like they do some blue dog Democrats.
Of course it rules out fraud... What this video is omitting, in order to avoid a stronger statement against the 'fraud' nonsense, is where was Terror Free Tomorrow conducted its poll: Obviously it was in Tehran itself and other major cities of Iran, where the elections' result themselves indicate tight outcomes, but yet continue to oversee the provincial reality of Iran where Moussavi never stood a chance.
They, the "globalist" inbred aristocracy through the secret society "brotherhood" dictates who will run their satellite corporations... the lower minions in media, 'judges' counting the votes, the potentates of priestly deception.
They do this in countries not overthrown by them yet, they do this especially in America.
My vote went for Ahmadinejad, as did many people I know.... and these people range from the rich Tehranis (who are all assumed to be part of the Mousavi block)to the working middle class that constitutes of most of Iran.
I am in awe at how the media has not at all potrayed the Massive support Ahmadinejad has INSIDE Iran, while at the same time championing Mousavi exaggerating protests that barely represent the majority of Iranians!
Iran is a free country but as long as Ahmadinejad is the leader it will be a communist country. It's amazing that people still like Ahmadinejad saying all he wants to do is get in a war, and not fix any of the problems the country has.
"Iran is a free country but as long as Ahmadinejad is the leader it will be a communist country"
Do you even know what Communism means?
Iran is free, and by freedom we mean free from Corporate America's evil clutches, that we dont let a bunch of bankers control the entire nation. Who told u Ahmadinejad wants war? can you give one proper honest quote from him? You are brainwashed by the media!
Please make educated comments, you sound REALLY ignorant my friend
Actually i work for Lockheed Martin so i don't need to watch the news. And yes Iran wants war. They want to wipe Israel off of the map. And your the brain washed one here that actually likes Ahmadinejad. That's like me saying I like George Bush.
"Actually i work for Lockheed Martin so i don't need to watch the news. "
You do need to watch the news, and your knowledge of politics is VERY VERY low. The reason I called you brainwashed is that you believe everything you are told, without question. Ahmadinejad never called Israel to be wiped off the map you idiot (that was a stupid misquote research it!), and he wrote a letter to George Bush begging for peace in the world, something your media never reiterated.
A'jad never called for the destruction of Israel. You've just been told over and over again that he said that. He did not say that. You've been lied to.
not to say that the american democracy does not have significant flaws (it does), but if you actually believe this statement you're either a) shockingly ignorant, b) consumed with anti-american sentiment to the point that it fogs all rational judgment or c) absolutely out of your mind.
(btw, judging by the enthusiastic support for the last comment i expect a lot of thumbs down on this comment, so don't disappoint me youtube!)

I presented you evidence in my PM that showed there may indeed be fraud and that there reasons to believe these protests emanate directly from the people. Now can we please move this to a PM conversation?

Dear Robert Perry,
Here's the thing, whether or not Bush cheated is irrelevant to the situation in Iran. Our country didn't dissolve into sectarian violence as a result, our government is not an oppressive authoritarian unelected regime, our votes mean something (they mean little, but at least that is something).

Who gives a crap about the US? This is nothing to do with the US, the Shah, religion, or any of that.
It is to do with the Iranian people. But the "real news" doesn't give a **** about them. You just want to push your agenda.
The Iranian people have unaccountable leaders. What gives Khameini the right to rule till he dies without question? He is not God.
The Iranians are on the streets campaigning and dying. Relgious people included.

Iran won't be free until the US is
abortabraham 2 years ago 2
It's none of our damn business.

The United States government, the neo-cons especially, wants Ahmadinejad in power - so long as Iran is seen to present a psychotic or extremist face to the world it will make it easier for the U.S. to get the UN to slap more sanctions on them. Mousavi is the last person they want in power, hence why Obama is avoiding the whole issue.
blackiron60 2 years ago 2
Ahmadinejad is the best face of a villian they have. He has made crazy comments and definite hate-speech but that isn't even enough.
Irtidad 2 years ago 2
Some other things that are not mentioned is that the poll was done three weeks before the election, and some MAJOR events happened in that three weeks, including television debates.
Secondly, any polling expert will tell you that you can never trust polling in a situation of intimidation, i.e. a police state like Iran.
Thirdly, there is no historical precedent for such polling in Iran, as it is prohibited. No way to tell how reflective polls tend to be of actual results in that setting.
theresponderful 2 years ago 2
I can't believe the Real News is doing this? This is bullshit. The question is not "Does U.S. poll rule out fraud in Iran?" The question is how in the hell do all these people outside Iran get to be so sure there was Fraud. The conclusion that the pollsters came to was that A'jad's was in the lead pre-election and there is some evidence that the results are genuine and no proof that the election was stolen.
thefreeassociation 2 years ago
I thought the piece made it pretty clear at the beginning how absurd it was that the Western was ruling on the Iranian election, with the quote about 2000 and 2004.
The important thing to note is that these guys aren't pollsters at all, they are a thinktank. The question is, why were they doing this poll in the first place? Why do their results allow them to claim legitimacy for whatever possible outcome? And the piece never suggests that fraud happened, just that the poll doesn't rule it out.
theresponderful 2 years ago 3
It doesn't matter at all who conducted the poll and why they conducted it. All that matters is whether the poll was scientific and was it accurate and nobody is saying that it wasn't scientific/accurate.
The guys who did the poll came to the conclusion that the results of the election were not completely expected, but there is no reason to suspect that there was fraud. No proof. The real news should not be asking, "can we rule it out..." They should be asking "where is the proof of fraud?"
thefreeassociation 2 years ago
Because the TFT report forecasted that Ahmadi can't win the first round and that there will be a second round of election between only the top two candidates. That 2nd round of elections did not happen my friend. This means that an indep US poll with right wing ties actually under estimated Ahmadi's soppurt.
spam4psdof 2 years ago
In the poll they said they expected A'jad to will a plurality and they expected a run off. After getting the election results they said in the Post, "Okay, we didn't expect that but there is no evidence of fraud, in fact there is evidence in our poll that supports the outcome of the election and no evidence of fraud. Realnews didn't say the poll was inaccurate. They just arbitrarily mentioned that McCain is on the board of the org. But that doesn't matter if the poll was scientific and accurate.
thefreeassociation 2 years ago
The point is that now we know undisputedly that TFT wants Ahmadinejad in charge, otherwise why would they cherry pick facts from their survey to give legimency to him? No where in the Washington Post article it mentions that there was a 2nd election round-off forcasted!
spam4psdof 2 years ago
The point of the article is not that there should have been a run-off. They predicted that and they were wrong about it, for one reason or another. The point of the article is that the US media and gov't is acting like there was an undeniable fraud and when in fact there is no evidence of fraud and in fact there is evidence that the election results are real. Iran has nothing to prove as the accused, the accuser should have to produce evidence.
thefreeassociation 2 years ago
What cherry picking? Look, people arguing both sides of this thing can gather evidence from this poll for their position if the evidence exists. And also IF THE POLLS IS ACCURATE. Here no one is questioning the accuracy of the poll. The pro a'jad people have evidence. And the anti a'jad people have none to gather.
thefreeassociation 2 years ago
it's certainly not arbitrary if McCain and Frist are on the board, given how much certain elements of the American power structure depend upon the existence of an Iranian boogeyman. further, all the poll's authors might reasonably say is that *their poll* does not provide clear evidence of fraud - as obviously their poll does nothing to contradict reports of fraud from within Iran or the obvious opinion of millions of Iranians putting themselves in harms way to protest the official results.
originaljonesdotinfo 2 years ago
It is worth noting that certain American interests would like to see A'jad in power. But that is a separate story isn't it? Of Course [that story is "why do certain US elements want A'jad in power? ] He're we're talking about whether this election was fraudulent and if the poll is SCIENTIFIC AND ACCURATE it doesn't matter who conducted the poll. No one is questioning the accuracy....
thefreeassociation 2 years ago
no, it's a related story. the issue here is *not* the accuracy of the poll, but the changing *interpretation of the poll's results*. thus, the possible motivations behind this change are directly relevant. again, the quality of the polling is not at issue; only the shifting interpretation of the results.
originaljonesdotinfo 2 years ago
The problem you're missing is that Iran doesn't have to prove that the Elections were honest. They are not making the accusations here. Shouldn't the accusers be the ones that must come up with the evidence? That's the way it goes in the west in "fair legal systems." And isn't that what we want to impose on the rest of the world? So the accusers should have to come up with the evidence.
thefreeassociation 2 years ago
Poll was not scientific/accurate. How could a scientific and accurate poll support two COMPLETELY different conclusions! Before the election, they conclude Ahmadinejad will get below 50%, 6 days later they write an Op-Ed saying that their poll should be taken into consideration when Ahmadinejad gets 64%.
Read TFT's Mission Statement: "By determining the facts first, we help CREATE effective policies to counter extremism worldwide."
Create? Doesn't sound like scientific polling to me!
theresponderful 2 years ago
the principle and significant accusers in this case are the millions of Iranians risking their well-being to protest in the streets. as for their ability to come up with evidence: they're hardly in a position to do so. whatever the reality, i doubt those Iranians are taking such extreme measures because of common interpretation of American polling data.
originaljonesdotinfo 2 years ago
It does not serve McCain and Frist's interest then does it to have their pollsters saying that "there's no reason to think there was election fraud." That kind of kills the boogeyman factor in the case doesn't it.
thefreeassociation 2 years ago
short term but not long term. the boogey-status of the current regime is already well-established.
