I also hate parts-formers. Whatever the name of that robot that came with G1 Fortress Maximus (not Cerebros) was one too and I can't find his blue "car" legs and it drives me nuts. The one that came with MetroPlex, that maroon/white/black guy whose arms were Metro's guns, was even worse. That was my least favorite G1 Transformer, that idiot that came with Metroplex.

P.S. I hated my G1 Jetfire only because his face was that damn Robotech face and not the cartoon Jetfire/Skyfire face!

I got the reissue when it came out (I think it was about 2003).

Good question ;) there was an upgrade kit for him at one point that gave him big wings, and some other very nice things... sadly it is no longer in production.

Loose... I would have one hell of a time paying that much for a loose ANYTHING... it would have to be imaculate for me to pay that much and be one of the misprints with the macross logos on the wings before I payed that much for a loose one.

I thought the Japanese version was called Convoy? Care to clarify why he's called GenRai as opposed to convoy? Special edition, different story, or am I just mis-informed?

Well he is Convoy in everything but Masterforce. Genrai is the name of the looser... I mean guy who rents optimus thinking he is just a normal 18wheeler and ends up getting the power armor (the Hi-Q suit) and joining with the Cab of prime, prime goes un-named as far as I have been able to find, so he is just refered too by the drivers name by the other characters. I am not sure when powermaster prime apears in Victory if he is still refered to as gerai or as convoy though...

While it'll mean another surface to clean, you can always find a new place to put another shelf. But it is true, at one point it is too much. Take a look at JTMitchel for example. When the time comes, you may be forced to choose favorites for who gets displayed.

From wich year is your Prime? Mine is from 1988. I think there is a little difference. The Arms of the supermode are one complete part (you cant push the hands into the arms).

Hey, great review as always! If they would make a classics version of this that is basically the exact same thing only with modern articulation, then I'd love it! I'm just wondering, but what is your other favorite all-time transformer? I would guess that it's the combination of RID ultra magnus and RID Prime into that giant robot they combine into, but if it isn't-then what is? I love that RID combination by the way it's like Powermaster only with articulation they should reissue it asap.

At 8:42 that is omega prime the combination of RID prime and RID ultra magnus.

8:44 is Cybertron Prime combined with Wing saber.

My prime collection is almost its own collection. Right now I think I am only missing 5-6 primes to one of every prime made... I am not counting Beast machines.

I think my KO optimal optimus is fairly close to the actually size of the real one. Fire convoy + God Magnus will completely dwarf him.
