Pete actually planned an acoustic performance of this song for his tragically aborted Lifehouse Project so readapting this song isn't blasphemous it was meant to be performed in different arrangements

A lot of comments here are just plain nasty or severely lacking in relevance and logic and reflect an ample amount of envy. David Cook is naturally gifted and talented but he also worked hard perfecting his craft and is never one to take it for granted.
