  • The Capital Center, Largo Maryland, 1979... They stole the show after opening for Bootsy Collins... The best damn live band I have ever heard other than Earth, Wind and Fire...

  • For those who thought this young lady sounded like Chaka Khan well you will be happy to know it is her sister who was the singer in this song.

  • @puttmannia U need to stop lying!!

  • @puttmannia WOW ... One Learns something NEW everyday!!! ThankYOU.

  • @puttmannia With apologies, the lead vocalist is in fact the great Joyce Kennedy, who is not related to Miss Khan. You may be confusing her with Taka Boom, another unsung funk diva contemporary who IS Chaka's sister. ;-D

  • the truth Is My Point !!!!!!!

  • tres tres bon.....

  • baby jean and the wizard.....great unique sound and i saw them in 77. great memories

  • Who says Blacks can't play rock and roll. These cats rock and rock hard.Listen to later albums.peace out yall.

  • Moses Mo on Guitar

  • I remember.....

  • This song got everybody on the floor for the slow grind. Yes--kids--we were grinding when most of you were just a twinkle in your momma's eye. LOL

And if you could not grind or slow dance--you just held each other and rocked to the music--but everyone who had someone got up for this cut--BELIEVE THAT!!

  • This and thank you for the lovin' NO ONE can hold a candle to Mother's finest for this jam....

  • eyejam2003 - Anyone know who played the lead guitar on this one?

  • @ijamujam2 i'll have to check the lp to make sure , i believe it was gary mo moore

  • @ijamujam2 Mo Same cat as all the other songs. Skinny stringy haired white dude whos is pretty damn good btw.

  • OFTEN imitated...NEVER duplicated!

  • @mirv10 I hear that !!!

  • Meli'sa Morgan did this-sounds okay; Jamie Foxx's version is lame. Tthis is the one and ONLY version you need in your collection. No other version out there even comes close!!

  • @912patriot I did not know that Melissa morgan and Kashif did this as a cover back in the day, not realizing that MF did this. I'm an avid music listener/collector (45yr) and I feel bad that I missed MF during their heyday, but glad to have discovered them now!

  • Master p sampled this

for his 1992 song title "Going big time"

off the "mama bad boy " cd

  • Sounds so smooth...funny how love can make us so happy or so sad. Classic. I'm 27 and i am passing this down to the babies...good music.

  • The way music is supposed to be period!

  • Back in the day I used to think this was Chaka Khan you couldn't tell me it wasn't her.lol

  • @brooksdb226 I thought the same. I swear this jam sounds like a powerhouse Chaka song....

  • esham sampled this.. song is called thought you new.

  • caught the act @ "UIC Pavillion" here in Chicago, starred with the "Barkays" -Attitude, it was a solid, memorable performance............

  • @SweetnSaltyLife99 you guys are lucky !! you get to see all these acts at your doorstep!!!..

  • Yes Yes this is the one! No other touch this one!!!! thank you.

  • @tnickens75 Amen!

  • I didn't even know there were other versions of this song. I guess this is the only one I care about.

  • @utterbullspit good choice !

  • i love this song. its my favorite song

  • so,so, sexy!

  • i remember when and where i first heard this song : it was december 1979, christmas break from school. i was 16-years old. hanging out with the boys and having a cold one...

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  • this is the best version although I have Me'lisa Morgan and Kashif version on 12". Joyce Kennedy was a underrated lead female singer that could hang with the best. Wish TV One would do an UNSUNG on this group. The song "I Can't Believe" is on this album and a jam too!

  • @eyesley I think they are gna do a peice on them!!!

  • @larryluvewf COOL!

  • remember when this came out always one of my favorites!

  • This is the original. I was in the 10th grade and I remember getting dressed for school jamming this on my record player in the morning, every morning until it played out for me. Now that I am older and wiser this song will never play out for me.

  • I love this song...

  • This is the original...came out (i believe) in either 1977 or 1978. Kashif & Me'Lisa Morgan's remake was cool, but, the Mother's Finest original does it for me :->

  • @QueenUglyDuckling It does it for me too...Just thank God that non of these new "artist" tried to remake this song... lol

  • so this is the original...i always thought it was the mel'isa & kashif version...this one is cool, prefer the mel'isa one

  • @ICANDIGUOUT The original & best 1978 mother factor LP.

    Arranged by skip scarborough.

  • @p4soul ;-)

  • @p4soul Definitely the best version.

  • @luvureally yep !!

  • Been searching for days too find this one...sounds like a classic as always. Good music.

  • this was the jam back in the day!
