  • Thanks for the great review. I really wanted to see the device put into use. I currently have the Kindle 2 and like it a lot, but really would like to have one without the keyboard. I'm thinking of purchasing the Kindle Touch 3G now! Thanks!

  • BTW great video

  • Didn't see how the dictionary works with the touch and are touch and keyboard reading displays the same size?

  • @gghostrrider The displays are exactly the same size so the Touch is slightly shorter.

The dictionary works when you press and hold a word. Let go after a couple of seconds and a mini window pops up with the word's definition.

  • But you only need the 3G if your downloading books ?

  • sooo... I'm deciding between kindle touch and kindle keyboard. I was almost set on the keyboard one but after watching this vid I think I will choose kindle touch. you're a good salesperson! ;)

also - is the 3g really worth it? I have wifi in my home and I'm not sure if I'm going to need the web when I travel or sth. do you use the 3g?

  • @CichoCiemna84 I do, but I read at coffee shops a lot. I'm also a piano teacher and I read between students at the studio.

  • Can you surf the web with the 3G?

  • @P4INK1LL3R Not with this version. You can with the Kindle Keyboard, albeit very clunkily.

  • Have you scratched the screen yet with your nails??

  • @ktiame No! It's totally scratch proof.

  • @cetati Oh, thank you!! I was afraid I might accidentally scratch the screen xD

  • how easy is it or is it even possible to transfer e books i have on my laptop to the kindle?

  • @lovelydeceit It is very easy with a cross-platform app called Calibre, and if you have it in .mobi form you can drag and drop.

  • @cetati i found that out by doing a google search but thanks, i got my kindle and i absolutely love it.

  • Thank you.

  • I have the same problem with my Kindle Keyboard. I have had four different Kindle Keyboards because of the squeaking problems. The latest one has the same problem. I think the problem is that the (not) strong tape loses its stickiness after awhile. I just gave up on new ones because it always comes back up.

  • @raejaybigpapi I've had the new Kindle Touch for about 2 months now and good news! No squeaking yet. :)

  • Hi I was just wondering if you have had trouble with your kindle touch "ghosting" I had got a kindle keyboard and had to take it back twice because the screen was ghosting and leaving previous images when I would turn the page. I was thinking about getting one of these but have read they are doing it to?? thanks!

  • @bows4girls I have that problem sometimes but not often. A full screen refresh every 6 pages... I haven't had the problem any more than I've had it on the Kindle Keyboard...but I've never had a huge problem with it with the Keyboard so...

  • Something I am somewhat hung up on is that in the home menu or on the list of books, the covers aren't displayed, its just a list of the titles to my knowledge. I think that would make it easier selecting/looking for the specific book in your kindle, and also adding that artistic character towards the book.

  • @OisinWit That would be an AWESOME optional feature! I personally prefer text but I know some people rely on a memory of the cover!

  • Aimeepanmusic thanks

  • This is tempting me even more to get a Kindle touch :) xxx

  • @chloeaudreylee Teehee! It's an awesome product.

  • Hi Cetati! I like your video. I have one question about 3G reciver - can it be turned off and on when needed (because I don't want to be in 3G net all the time)?

  • @magdalenaandric Yes it easily can!

  • @cetati great! thanks!!!

  • you are cute asian..and i like your fingers very clean..i think im in<3..hehe

  • Getting 1 tomorrow so happy thanks for the video and info!!!!!

  • @frankpruductions I'm glad it helped! Hope you love yours :)

  • Great review! Just got an eReader for Christmas (Kindle keyboard). Like you said, I'll wait for the next couple generations of eInk touch screens. Thanks.

  • @Jmanmadness23 I'm so glad it helped!

  • I would be buying for bedtime fiction reading, and am worried my blankets will be brushing against the touch screen and doing unwanted things. . .

  • @HuckleberryGal I've never had a problem with that... but I do have problems with it while eating as I've mentioned in the review haha.

  • bought one for my mom yesterday, I'm really hoping she'll like it.

She's a total book worm, and she doesn't really like tablets (mostly the ipad. XD)

  • @blotsafun I really hope she likes it!

  • I'm getting 1 today because of your video...thank you so much...let's keep the reading alive!

  • @markfmu84 Woohoo! Enjoy it!

  • Thank you for this video. I am shopping for my first eReader and I was 75% sure I wanted the Kindle Touch. Now I'm 95% sure I want the Kindle Touch.

  • @dre11691 Yay! I hope you enjoy it!

  • great review! I have the kindle 1 and should be getting a new kindle this week! I wasn't sure which one to get but more and more I'm leaning toward the touch for it's ease of use over the basic kindle. I can't wait to get one!

  • @josephjuvenile Yay! I hope you enjoy it!

  • Would you recommend this for a 14 year old who wants an eReader? I like the Fire but can't afford it right now.

  • @TheTCTube Yes for sure! I would put a case on it and buy a warranty for it though, just in case.

  • Thank you so much for this review. I think this is the most in-depth video I've seen here, and it has definitely convinced me that the KT is the right one for me. :)

  • @MsLeftyLibra Thanks so much for your kind comment! I hope you are able to buy your KT soon and will enjoy it. :]

  • Hey nice review, so does the kindle touch 3g have the experimental internet browser where you can load up google on 3g?

  • @plutopianation Thanks for your kind words. As to your question.. yes and no. It has the experimental browser but not when you're using 3G.. it'll work for Wikipedia and Amazon's Kindle store but nothing else. It'll work on standard wireless however.

  • Thanks for your video. You just pushed me over the edge, and I'll be placing an order for a KT tonight along with my first e-book ever! Ready Player One. I can't wait. Thank you again.

  • @igngig Woohoo!!! Welcome to the club! ;)

  • do you have to pay for 3g?

  • @pvtburk No. It's a one time deal included in the price of the product.

  • @aimeepanmusic what do you mean one time deal?

  • @pvtburk The cost of 3G is included in the price of your device when you purchase it. There is no monthly. Hope that helps.

  • Did you ever turn pages accidentally by means of touching or hovering over the screen when you read your books? Sometimes I'd like to press words underline with my finger when reading. So I wonder it might be a problem to me if the screen of kindle touch is too sensitive.

  • @oedipus1984 As I mentioned in the review itself, I do get a lot of accident hovering/brushing against the screen. Any touch will make it go.. it's EXTREMELY sensitive and responsive.

  • @aimeepanmusic And didn't you find that's annoying or you got used to it?

  • @oedipus1984 I just got used to it. The only time it's annoying now is when I am talking to someone while reading and my hair brushes it because I'm leaning over it.. but that's my fault for trying to read and socialize at the same time.

  • 100 books a year? Three days per book? Impressive!

  • @kingandkongo thank you for your kind comments!

  • Wow! Very good review!

  • Waiting for the review of your "Houkusai Wave in Chocolate" ; )

  • @gshockley100 Thank you for coming all the way over here to let me know that! I really appreciate it. ;) Just a heads up though... It'll probably be attached to my November favorite books video I don't have much to say about it other than that it's awesome and to show the screen how preeeeetty it is.

  • @cetati I was at Oberon's Facebook page and saw your post and was like that's the girl from YouTube:) Should have the "Cloud Dragon" cover at our doorstep in about 4 days. Hopefully my wife will not get home before I do or it will spoil the whole "Kindle Christmas".

  • @antonyponvijai Since you are already subbed you'll see it! It's coming up sometime this week.

  • @antonyponvijai Fantastic! It's always good to start reading at any age and the Kindle helps SO much. I'll be doing some accessories/book reviews coming up so keep watching if you'd like! Thanks so much again.

  • great review

  • @FlameDesire thank you!

  • I go to Amazon and add all of the books that I want to read to my wish list, can you access the wish list on the kindle touch?

  • @branrules101 You can via the web browser and wi-fi but I'm not sure if you can buy the books from that. You may have to go over to the store "app" and buy it there, not in the browser.

  • Once again, great review. I'm definitely getting the Kindle Touch. I really like the Oberon cases but I thought to share another type of case(s) that are less expensive, hand-crafted and very beautiful. I'm a very artsy person so I've been looking for attractive covers. Just go to Etsy.com and type in Kindle Touch case in the search area.

  • @LkeVelvet I like Etsy cases too! But I find no one makes leather cases quite like Oberon! Most Etsy choices are from other materials

  • nice review. plz do a video of oberon design cover with kindle touch. i wud really njoy that..

  • @vijitkh I will as soon as I get mine! Thanks for watching. :)

  • Does it skip pages like claimed in som reviews?

  • @fkeopfkeop I've read about 3 books on it and I haven't noticed anything like that. Hope that helps.

  • HI, after I had watched your review, I told myself I had to get this device ASAP. So I have one question. Between kindle sleeve and kindle cover which is better for the kindle touch?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

  • @2425tu Hello! Yay! Join us! I'm so glad you got it. I don't know which brand you're talking about, but for the brand I mentioned in my last video, Oberon Design, I like the flip case better than the sleeve, because you can just flip it open, fold it over like a book and start reading, whereas with your sleeve you have to remove it from the sleeve before you can read, and then it's totally unprotected.

Good luck and I hope you like it!

  • Great video.... I have the Kindle keyboard and I now own the Kindle Touch and I love it... I'm not sure yet but thinking on returning it for the Kindle Touch 3G. Really not sure if I need the 3G because I have not been traveling lately.

  • @otattoo Thanks for watching, for the compliment, & for the sub! I so appreciate it.

I think the 3G is a really nice upgrade but I don't think everyone needs it, especially since now smartphones are so prevalent.

  • Damnit. You made me want a Kindle Touch. XDDD

  • @epanmusic Mission accomplished!!! Duahaha. You said you wanted a longer one. ;)

  • Thanks for the great review! I just picked on up for my wife as a Christmas present to replace her Kindle Keyboard. Also, thanks for the link to the Oberon covers on your last post. Those covers rock!

  • @gshockley100 You're so welcome! I hope the videos were helpful & I'm so glad that you got your wife one. She'll love it for sure & Amazon CS is awesome so it'll last for sure. And the cases will help... they are both useful and beautiful. :)
