Why is E. Honda's headbutt much faster traveling accross the street, yet Blanka's roll looks really slow? I hope Blanka's role is at least as fast as sf2
Yeah I know, but oh well, she's in it so the best you could do is ignore her, her moves seem pretty neat atleast. The game looks awesome though. Wish they would put Kyosuke in it from Rival Schools.
SF3's cast had a pretty wide range of characters. Obviously there's more homogeneity than say Guilty Gear, and a lot of the attacks are rather similar (Half the attacks are either dragon punches or projectiles), but their flavor and playstyles feel pretty different to me. Ibuki, Dudley, Oro, Urien, Sean, Yun/Yang, Makoto, Alex, Hugo, and the shotos all play differently. The Street Fighter Alpha series has a huge cast of characters, too.
It's more the character DESIGN I was alluding to, not necessarily their diversity (although that was lacking also). Most I've spoken to regarding SFIII agree the gameplay is superlative... the animations also. But without characters one finds endearing, it's hard to persist with a game (for me). Hence why SNK have so many enduring titles - cool characters.
I mean, even an absolute dud of a fighter like 'Spam Calibur Floor' can keep my 'hardcore' interests, for one solitary reason - Vader.

Yes. A real lack of imagination on Capcom's part (as with the other newbies to IMO).
The Street Fighter series has always struggled to deliver unique and enjoyable characters on a consistant basis (...after Super SF that is).
