  • BMW <3 The best car in the wolrd!

  • Needs a drop asap

  • German engineering always seems to be ahead of us. Even in WWII they were what, an estimated 20-30 yrs ahead of us technologically speaking. Our jet airplanes, space shuttle and etc all from ze German scientists that defected after WW2.

  • Baby ..i like u as Lambo's....:)

  • european cars +1

    american cars -1

  • schaut mal bei mir rein hab auch ein vid. von dem teil drinn!

  • 1:01 That mini cooper exiting the track must be thinking "damn, thats a sleek looking BMW M3. Great looking wing ,too."

  • going to see it in long beach, my dad knows a few people who can get us up close to the bmw's also.

  • and the LS7 has several racing inspired technologies in it as well...so I wouldn't be too quick to claim it as ancient. And of course in 2006...its racing variant, the LS7.R was named global motorsport engine of the year. I was just always impressed with how old technology, when refreshed with the latest engineering, is still capable of hanging with the newest stuff. Yes it will never make the same power as, for example a OHC motorsport engine from Europe of the same size.

  • Can anyone elaborate on which facility this video was filmed?

  • i just fukin love da car!!!

    it needs more bhp man!!!

  • That's not true, give them some time to develop the car. They would't enter the championship if they didn't believe they can be conpetitive. In any case the fastest cars are the Risi Ferrari and Flying Lizard Porsches not the Corvette.

  • That's obviously a very old american saying since they've never been efficient at extracting big BHP per litre! I think BMW would just drop a race tuned version of the M5/M6's V10 in there, like they did with the E46 GTR and it's older M5 V8 if it was a case of displacement.

    No other manufacturer in the world has BMW's sheer engine design/building talent, not even Ferrari, Mercedes or Porsche.

  • HP/liter is an useless metric, a marketing gimmick that does not say anything about an engine. Truth is those high HP/liter engines do not produce more HP given the same engine weight, dimensions or fuel consumption than their low HP/liter counterparts (but cost a ton more to purchase, use and maintain).

    On the other hand, I like this car and I wish them luck - it is interesting to see how a race car derived from a 4 seater wil perform in a competition with all those 2 seaters (fromGT2).

  • @MOTORMOUTH2009

    sooooo true!!

  • @MOTORMOUTH2009 No reason to extract mega power from small motors. If you have a lower hp/l figure, the car has a more driveable powerband, and is far less stressed.

  • @MattA1GP Just the point of stress is correct. But "we" can take it. To get an easy to use powerband is the trick and exactly there's the difference. Great engineering delivers a better drivable engine (rpm band) than high volume engines. And high tech engines are much more fuel efficient as well.

  • @MOTORMOUTH2009 I would take Porsche onboard, too. But that's it. Nothing else comes even close.

  • @MOTORMOUTH2009 Even though I'm a Bimmerphile I'd have to say Honda employs some quite talented engine designers, perhaps just as good as BMW. I don't know of any Honda cars I'd buy but their engines do set a very high standard.

  • @MOTORMOUTH2009 Yeah? Then why does porche win the Nurburgring every year??

    That's a matter of opinion and I believe all the German Motor companies are doing just a good of a job. I'll take the Audi R8 V10, Porche 996, or Mercedes SLS AMG over any BMW anyday and those cars will DESTROY any bmw on the nurburgring. It's already been done...........

  • @ProTuner06

    You are so clueless, I suggest you read before you post anything stupid and make fool of yourself.. Check the laps time of the new BMW M5 F10 Record Setting 7:55 Nurburgring Lap..

  • @tnycman I agree the M5 is a fast car, but I do not believe that it couldn't be beaten by a 2004 Porsche Carrera GT

  • @FUCK202

    You do realize that Porche Carrera and M5 aren't in the same class, you're comparing apples to oranges.. Besides the price of Carrera GT that is 3 times higher, the weight way lighter, still the M5 competes with the overpriced Porche..

  • @MOTORMOUTH2009 Then how did Ferrari get 571 BHP out of a naturally aspirated 4.5 V8 in 2009 but BMW get only 552 BHP out of a 4.4 twin turbo V8 in 2011?

  • @FUCK202

    Oh BMW lowered the HP of the new M5 to 552, last time i checked it was 560.

    Just saying :)

  • @kinggsalas

    heuh??

    BMW has bigger displacement as Porsche!

    and the truth is actually: people that can't build a proper race-engine will automatically find their "heil" in bigger displacement...

  • "HEUH"(aykm) OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!not another you tube idiot!!!!!!!!!!all competetive porsche have FORCED INDUCTION!!!!!!!A BIG FAT TURBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!most of the time two turbos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and what does "HEIL" mean? because the only thing we can find in our LS7s 7.0L ENGINES (not turbos) is heaven..have you ever heard how a cammed American V8 laughs at the pussy turbo cars HA-HA-HA-HA-HA- wait we have a little L4 turbo car too! it makes over 300BHB SRT4 HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HALOL

  • All the competitive porsches (in alms for example) are RSR's!!!!! So nooooo turbo, get your facts right first please!

    Who the hell is talking about "turbo"???

    Btw, LS7 engine... only 2 valves/cyl, 1 camshaft pushrod... come on, what are they living in, the fifties???

    BMW or Porsche wouldn't even dare to bring out something like that, it would be laughed away immediately!

    And a few other things:

    BMW M3: 4.0L V8=>420HP

    BMW M5: 5.0L V10=>507 HP

    Corvette LS7: 7.0L V8=>505HP HAHAHA

  • @M3addicted. you're just comparing max horsepower numbers and neglecting others. The M3 and M5 both weigh several hundred pounds heavier than the Corvette. Max horsepower is also made circa 8000 rpm. the LS7 makes it around 6300. Torque? Please. The LS7 smacks both in torque. Engine packaging? The LS7, despite carrying at least 2 more liters, is physically about the same size because of OHV. I'm not a Chevy guy, I just try to analyze all aspects of engineering before making conclusions.

  • bmw m5 make it 7.0L V8 650HP HAHAH

  • I LOVE THIS CAR

  • the best car.............

  • hey guys I would really like to see this car in action however i do not have the Speed channel. I was wondering if any of you all know where I can watch this car racing in the ALMS GT2 competition. Prefably on the internet but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • your not missing much, speed is boring as fuck about 90% of the time

  • they better, with the drivers they have onboard.. or atleast put on a great show vs the 09 997 RSRs.. so far the porsches are faster on test. much faster

  • you dick learn about cars and then talk to me motherfucker , asshole bmw is the best cars ... HOMO....

  • ... right. who said the car was bad? I said they have good drivers, and its a nice car.. it should be competitive.. but in tests the 997RSRs were still quicker.

  • how fucking stupid can you be.. if i said put on a great show in GT2.. that means im looking forward to watching it challenge the other manufacturers.. god your stupid

  • it will take over alms the same as it did before

  • I love this car :)
