  • nice thank you for the vid i can now headspin

  • nice vid. helpful!

  • Sadie, when I interlace my fingers for the headstand, do I place the pinkie that grounds the floor on the outside (back) of the opposite hand, or on the inside? I used to place it outside, but later I found that sometimes my weight distribution of the two hands were uneven due to the asymmetry. Now I explore placing that pinkie on the inside which makes both pinkies touching the floor allowing both wrists to ground more evenly. Insights, please? Learned so much from you THANK YOU!!!

  • Sadie, I watched this video a couple of months ago and now came back to it to make sure I'm doing the headstand right :)

    Your instructions are INCREDIBLY HELPFUL!!!

I don't feel comfortable doing the "tripod" headstand exactly because I'm afraid of hurting my neck. But this variation works great for me - because of your invaluable neck advices :)

    THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i have always wanted to do a headstand... this video is very helpful. after hours of trying... i did it for half a second... i was so afraid to fall to the other side... i wanted to put my feet back to the floor but it was too late. there was a bucket full of water near.. and... i broke it and the floor of my room is messed up.. lol...! but i like it... what can i do about it? it looks so easy but but it's so hard.. can you help me?

  • I'm very very conscious about doing things like these, as well as hand springs, flips etc. I'm currently in the process of learning breakdance but I only do it once a week, so I obviously have to practice at home also, but I'm always too scared to kick my legs up or lift myself off of the ground in case I topple over...do you have any tips on how I could get over my fear? xo Thank you

  • Hi there,

The difference in this headstand from springs and flips is that it should be done super slowly. Build the first preparation, working to build arm and core strength and don't worry about getting your legs up right now, Once you learn how to sloooowly lift your hips over your shoulders with strength and grace, then you're ready to extend the legs. No kicking, no going fast. This is a process of building stability from the ground up, and then, and ONLY then expressing into the full pose.

  • 10000000 THANKS for this video and your explanations...5 tries and I GOT IT!! THANK YOU!

  • Many thanks. I find your video clips very helpful, sensible and encouraging. Keep up the good work.

  • thanks a lot!!!

    you too--whatever your work is;)

    xoxoSadie

  • Thank you for this video! I working toward a headstand and am currently just getting safety tips and finding strength building exercises. I believe in doing things right, and not doing them until you are strong enough and ready. Your video was a wealth of information. Thanks again.

  • Hi, thanks! This is exactly my mindset too...no rush, just work the seed of the pose until you get strong enough and flexible enough so the next level opens up for you. The whole point is in the journey anyway--glad to hear you get it, and I hope you rock the headstand practice, wherever you are along the way. xoxoSadie

  • you look so gorgeous

    5 points of me
