I find it interesting that our special needs son, who is now 8, fell in love with this song when he first heard it. When he was just 5 he told me that he wanted his Daddy to be his father, but he also wanted God to be his Father. I had the privilege of leading him to salvation through prayer. I wonder how many other "special" kids are also moved by this song. I wonder what it would sound like if it were sung by a huge choir singing all of the parts with no instruments.

I was raised christian, & was 1 until a couple years ago, when I realized how much a farce the bible is & how evil the religion is, primarily with the belief in hell. i am in awe of how the love of Jesus can change someones life. i cant imagine everything about God, all i can tell anyone is what i have seen and experienced here on earth. i have seen a woman healed of breast cancer, a murderer turned into a pastor, an ex-con who hated people of color and now has 35 churches in africa and in inner cities, a man spared an entire life in prison after he began to follow Jesus, marriages restored, children born again in the spirit after a life of drugs,..etc.

When someone tells you they used to be a christian, you don't need to inform them what atonement is. Just because I now say there is no god, does not mean that I didn't truly believe in him at 1 time. There are many, in fact most atheists used to be christians/theists. Your god sends people who have never heard of Jesus/bible to hell (yes those people exist & have existed in history).

The most important thing to note when using Pascal's Wager is that if your god is real, he's going to know that you're just believing just in case he & hell is real. Also Pascal's Wager can & has been & allows you to use it for multiple religions.

Yeah your explanation of why god sends people to hell is pretty much the same as what I already posted on here. I was a christian before I started questioning & before seeing the evil in it. Jesus has been waiting 2009+ years to come back & according to the bible fractions of the population will be killed/burn in hell in the tribulation adding up to half the population, which today is 6.6 billion, so 3.3 billion people will be killed or burn in hell. What a nice loving god!

If there is a god, he does not love anyone that he sends to hell! You choose this evil belief. If hell was for the devil, why hasn't he been sent there yet, and why are non-devil being sent there? Why is it ok that every sinner/nonbeliever gets the same punishment?? Someone that's never heard of jesus gets the same punishment as a murderer?? Why has it been 2009+ years & jesus still hasn't come back?

Actually you also choose to believe that if someone doesn't believe in your god (which only has a title, not a name), they will go to hell, even if they don't deserve it (of course this was an arrogant idea made up by man). Honestly, how nice it would be to just watch these videos and listen to the music rather than have to wade through theological discussions afterward. If you don't believe, while that's sad, so be it. God doesn't force anyone to believe. This is not a forum for debate, so move on to whatever genre of music you like and leave the Christians to enjoy theirs without harassment. I was raised christian, & was 1 until a couple years ago, when I realized how much a farce the bible is & how evil the religion is, primarily with the belief in hell. Had to hear this annoying repetitive song while donating plasma recently, got me posting comment

i am in awe of how the love of Jesus can change someones life. i cant imagine everything about God, all i can tell anyone is what i have seen and experienced here on earth. i have seen a woman healed of breast cancer, a murderer turned into a pastor, an ex-con who hated people of color and now has 35 churches in africa and in inner cities, a man spared an entire life in prison after he began to follow Jesus, marriages restored, children born again in the spirit after a life of drugs,..etc.

If the biblical god exists, he made us to have those desires. We do not need a god or religion to teach each other & our children how to be moral and do good. You have no proof of god or jesus or that they are the only gods. The whole trinity thing makes no sense. I don't need a savior to have moral codes, which predate your religion. I can want pure love and joy and I can get it from people and from life, not from blind faith. I can't "want" something into existence. I get joy imagining that one day there will be no religion or superstitious thought, and the world will be a better, more intelligent place.

Life everlasting with our Creator is the promise of joy, and I can have it now through Christ Jesus.
No person in this life can love as the one who made you. His love is ever present, even in His judgment. Justice and love, above human understanding.

Life can and does offer joy - this life is our only life. How can you blatantly say "Life will not offer joy"?? There is no logical reason to believe there is an afterlife. To believe in it to make you happy does not work in making it true. Not believing in afterlife, I make the best of my 1 life & feel happier that there is no hell.

Do you find joy in pain? Or in the suffering of those you love? This life is full of both! There is no logical reason to believe this is all there is. Don't make out like this is an intellectual conclusion...your knowledge and mine combined cannot even answer the minimal problems of day to day life. So why should I agree with minimal knowledge at best? No thanks, I go with faith...not blind faith, as you say, but a proven recorded faith that has been made personal.

When trying to convert an atheist that knows what he's talking about, especially 1 that used to be a christian, don't mention hell as a consequence for not converting - only further proves my point about how evil your religion is. I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS A GOD, but I do know that the biblical god is manmade, and 1 reason is the failed, evil logic of sending his children that he "LOVES" to be forever tortured in hell! Being afraid of hell is not going to make me believe the bible.

Choosing to believe when you have massive amounts of reasons not to, just because "there might be a hell", or to get healed, or so that you might have an afterlife, is like taking a placebo. Make your religion a whole lot more attractive & less evil: Do the same thing you did with the law about stoning unruly children, & stop believing in hell, stop worrying about gay people getting married/being gay (ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, FAIRY TALES SHOULDN'T RULE), omit parts where god killed millions.

You cannot "know" god more than I did when I prayed and talked to him when I was a believer. The belief is not 1 where you actually hear him speak back to you - its a faith based on a chosen belief based on a 2,000 year old book. For most it is also the fear of going to hell. Terrified of being wrong, ultimatum prison cell (from the song "The Grudge" by Tool). When someone tells you they used to be a christian, you don't need to inform them what atonement is. Just because I now say there is no god, does not mean that I didn't truly believe in him at 1 time. There are many, in fact most atheists used to be christians/theists. The most important thing to note when using Pascal's Wager is that if your god is real, he's going to know that you're just believing just in case he & hell is real. Also Pascal's Wager can & has been & allows you to use it for multiple religions.

Yeah your explanation of why god sends people to hell is pretty much the same as what I already posted on here. I was a christian before I started questioning & before seeing the evil in it. Jesus has been waiting 2009+ years to come back & according to the bible fractions of the population will be killed/burn in hell in the tribulation adding up to half the population, which today is 6.6 billion, so 3.3 billion people will be killed or burn in hell. What a nice loving god!

For me this song is a gift from God. My lovely wife passed away in April. I have a young daughter who like me identifies with the message of this song. I know that when she closed her eyes here for the last time she opened them in heaven. I thank God everday for that promise.

My friend lost his life 2 weeks ago in a bizarre accident. He was on his way the camp and he was having problems with his truck and decided to pull along the roadside to work on it.
