Haha, vids like these make it easy to hate (a lot of) Americans, lol, you just make a fool of yourselves with you're "EVERYTHING ELSE IS SHIT LOLZ" attitudes!
BTW, these "EUROFAG LOLZ" trucks aren't as weak as you think. The top Scanias have 730bhp and about 2600lb/ft.
@Scoobmeister Actually Cummins was just lucky to BUY the béta system from YES an Swedish company who got the asignment from Scania and Volvo. If you want to be a smartbuy make sure you READ ALL wikipedia data.
Thats Funny Trying to compare Tonka Trucks With American Trucks.. Scanias Are All Show, I'd like to see one in The U.S, no way it can keep up with real truckers... I'm going to get responds from Scanny Fannys.. Ha Ha... Try me Motherfuckers... Lol American Trucking Is The Best. =)
The american gear shifter is totally different than scania's sihfter idiots....only one truck(daf 2000)had american gear shifter and it was very good, but now there are better...
also my dad's scania 142 had american shifter too.
we do not love scania for his logo, but for his sound and design.
all in all, european trucks are the best.New volvo Fh1 has already reach 700HP!where are your shit american tractors ?
This hasnt not be said from guys that doesnt like scania too...They are very confortable and better diesign*interior-exterior)than you shit interiors of your american trucks...The mirrors remind me truck of 1980 age oO
and btw,you might have better(MIGHT,not sure)engines and more HP,but not so nice design.Put some good wheels at those ungly too trucks.OMG!
@mrerkman0 Mate C-15's are gutless, i ran a C-16 twin turbo acert in a road train in a T908 and it had nothing against a 8v92 detroit and a know for a fact that my old mans 530 V8 Scania Tbag shits all over the detroit. These things are built for the autobahn where you do 120kms+ i been to germany and seen em do it
@fullysiktrucka the 8v92 is a joke. We use them in the states in our school buses. If you even point the bus in the general direction of a hill it slows down. With the C-15 its all about how the parameters are set up. Mine was wide open and set at 625 HP. I have since driven a 650 HP ISX Cummins with an 18 speed and I like it more than the Cat. The only V style to ever give me a good run was the 12v92 detroit. Very rare to see one of those
@fullysiktrucka I had to go look to see how fast 120kms is in mph. Its about 75mph which is the legal rate in many western states. In Utah its 80 mph. My Peterbilt had the Cat messenger screen in the dash and I could watch the speed digitally after the speedometer was burried at 85mph. One night coming into Nevada I had it at 115mph and still had another gear to go, Thats with an 18 speed, 3.23 gear ratio and 24.5 inch tires. I backed off the throttle I got scared
@mrerkman0 yeh mate but but your not runnin 120 ton, i am, and a c-16 can be opened up to 725, mines wound up to 660 and the series 60 still flogs it, mate a Vt903 runs it into the ground. CATS are crap mate in my books, they cant handle heavy weights, it might be alright for ou guys because you'se mainly run single but none of my trucks do, they are all B-Double and higher. im already swappin out the CAT next year because it cant hack it
It would have no problem keeping up with a c15 because the c15 would be in the shop getting fixed, the c15 has to be the most problematic engine cat ever made. 3406 e was a much better engine

hey scoobmeister,i agree with you 100%,scanias are over rated parcels of tin scrap, cab is rubbish, brakes,if they want to work might stop you, side panels and mudguards rattle and shake and usually fall off,you scania drivers have a disease called scaniaittas, anything is better than a scania.
The I-6 is a wobbling giant freak like a little gas bimmer m3. ponder this retards: 720/8==90.Like the block it sits in, at 90 degrees.Go figure out what I type here, not enough room. The six cylinder needs a 120 degree block. Give exploding cylindrs a chance to balance themselves and you'll see why the simple concept of scania v8 is a legend. Not to mention the imperfections of diesel over ruled by the 90 degree fires.. the hardly twisted take off torques and sustaining must be very friendly.

Still now, it's running on italian motorways =)
Now i drive a Iveco Stralis (it's not mine =( ) and very often I'm in garage for fixes at engine, junction box, etc. etc....It is 1 and an half year old, with 200.000km!!!!!
well i have worked on DAF, and there clearly only good for a scrap yard so are iveco ford there breakdown record is pants and i mean PANTS. scania have made some fine trucks and ive never heard so much bull from donroz, in 25 years of being a mech, i have not had many scania in to fix, mostly, merc as there rust buckets, iveco mainly due to radiator and axel problems, and as for daf's most drivers tell me their pure rubbish. my fav's are pegasus.
25 Years as a mechanic? What are you a filter swapper?
Have you worked on a Scania lately? Try changing a header tank on an XF, then try the same job on an R series! Then there's all the stupid panels you have to remove, more like a bloody transformer! "Bags of shit in disguise!"
Then there's the dreaded opti-cruise gearbox that takes about 3 days to change gear! (When it works at all!) All in all there are far better trucks out there.
"Scania sucks", "Overrated", "Disgrace for Sweden" etc. etc. Tell us what's better to buy and drive if the Scania built trucks are so seemingly bad? All you experts must be able to come up with 3-4 makes that are better? Yes?
Yes, Merc, Man, Daf, Volvo And Iveco, There you go Five! If you fancy an eight legger you can also get a Hino, Not that you'd ever buy a Scania 8 Legger, they are worse than the tractor units!
This video is called "Power Of A V8 Scania" and all it shows is some Poxy Scanias driving round a field ???? The blue one at the end isn't the sound of the truck, but someone farting down the microphone. Seems this is all Scania's are any good at, certainally are'nt any good for anything else!
Wow, a slighlty more powerful POS Powerjoke/Duratrash diesel. What do you get, like 300,000 mi (or what ever bass-akwards metric equivalent is) out of these things. From a durability stand point these can't touch and in-line six. Plus V-8 diesels (except 2-strokes) sound like crap anyway. But hey, if thats the only way to get a truck across the pond with decent power than so be it.
If you think a Scania is a good truck you need help!
They are poorly made, unreliable endlessly flawed and grossly overrated! All your concerned about is that it has a Scania badge on the front, You could take any pile of shit put a Scania badge on the front and idiots like you would like it, Ooops I forgot they did, it was called the 4 series Lol!
Latest R series recall: track rod end pinch bolts shearing, its only the steering, nothing major! Another quality product from Scania!
....Oh God no....used both Scannies as well as Cat and Cummins powered US trucks (K'woppers and Petes) and the US things, sorry, dont even come close. Thirstier, rougher, noisier, have to slow down in the bends, roll like pigs, still using multi-speed crash boxes, unsealed un-pressurised cabs etc etc. Only got radials about fifteen years ago. The poor old US couldn't engineer itself out of a paper bag.
i mean these scanias sound awesome...seems like europeans take alot of pride in their trucks...some americans do too..but the owner operator isnt as found in as high concentrations as it once was..but man id love to take a ride in one of these things..and mabey one of us will give u a ride in a pete or something lol
The Biggest On-Road engine offered right now is Caterpillar's C-18 (700h.p.) only by special specs though. Then Volvo's D16-660 comes in 2nd while Scania's DS16 (620h.p.) comes in 3rd.
Nothing beats the sound of that V8 but there's one thing euro trucks miss, a fuller box & a jake brake, pure driving pleasure. The euros have comfort but character goes to the US!
Very nice Scania at 1:29. Cool Video.

Why are all scania fan's such idiots?
Gieuw1 4 years ago
We are not idiots, but we are real drivers who know what a good truck is! that is Scania!
Gaz5976 4 years ago
If you think a Scania is a good truck you need help!
They are poorly made, unreliable endlessly flawed and grossly overrated! All your concerned about is that it has a Scania badge on the front, You could take any pile of shit put a Scania badge on the front and idiots like you would like it, Ooops I forgot they did, it was called the 4 series Lol!
Latest R series recall: track rod end pinch bolts shearing, its only the steering, nothing major! Another quality product from Scania!

i hav to say that the classic style of a kenworth w900 with the power of a 600 cat and 18 speed eaton is the way to go

....Oh God no....used both Scannies as well as Cat and Cummins powered US trucks (K'woppers and Petes) and the US things, sorry, dont even come close.

I've seen a MAN V10, not bad for something of a 20 something litre displacement, but only 603bhp.

The Biggest On-Road engine offered right now is Caterpillar's C-18 (700h.p.) only by special specs though. Then Volvo's D16-660 comes in 2nd while Scania's DS16 (620h.p.) comes in 3rd.

What about MAN v10 or v12? Good for 1000hp plus. Primarily for military heavy tank transporters, I think.

Would be nice to see Scania sell trucks in the U.S. again...and hopefully if or when they do, they'll offer the 16L V8
kalanike 4 years ago

Nothing beats the sound of that V8 but there's one thing euro trucks miss, a fuller box & a jake brake, pure driving pleasure. The euros have comfort but character goes to the US!
isxfazi 4 years ago
You should not say something like that because the really strong trucks are not in U.S. They are the uglies though. I am truck driver in Illinois btw
pavelbotev 4 years ago
A normal Scania has 580 Hp 16 liter (1000 cuin) there are bigger if you need.....and it looks like its build in 2007, not 1959
No US truck can even come close.

I prefer my Kenworth W-900 Powered by a 500hp Turbocharged Caterpillar Diesel. An American Truck! Where the real trucks are.
