Matt, I just sent you an e-mail, asking where you are going to study in the UK, and here is the answer. Schumacher himself was in correspondence with Bede Griffiths in India, and I saw the periodical from the college that regularly arrived at the ashram. I've also met people from Findhorn who came to the ashram as well. I hope you get a chance to travel to India maybe next year. Bon voyage!

Ow and I just rememberred something helpful. Recently I had a seminar from an organisation, funds for artists. They mentioned that most ambasses have a special budget for extra stuff. Like you could ask them to finance your plane ticket!!! Just right a good motivational letter, why you think they should help you. I never tried, but was told it doesn;t hurt to try!!!

I just wanted to give you an idea to create merchandise for your campagne to rais funds. Because people have less problem buying products for a good cause than donating. Besides it's nice to give someone somthing in return and it can be advertising for you!

Matt have you considered approaching the intentional community? They may have a work/study program. If it is a commune/ kibbutz situation they may be happy to exchange work for the experience and lodging. They may agree. Also you may find something like this in the U.S. which would cost less to get there. Look around- perhaps an Amish community. Personally I am leery about utopias, because humans are the bottom line; power relations, inequality, petty fights, kinship, jealousy, property etc.

Either want freedom of speech and expression or not. But make sure that many of you know what our getting yourselves into over these issues guys.

And when people bring up important issues to you, learn to take them seriously. Not every one on the net is the same on how the communicate and deal with people. And if you are not going to take others life experiences and knowledge, and past memories into account, you guys are going to run into problems.

What skills do you have? Maybe set up some learning tools online that every one can use. You have some smart friends, put your heads together.

Back in the day, I setup a college campus for teaching over video. Maybe you guys can do the same, this site has had many examples of this that I dont see to many people using. You have a good standing with Google send them a resume and see what you can do,
