Mein Gott... the Australian guy had a terrific voice... but Jeff Leyton... his voice is so beautiful... and the Norwegian man had a rather nice voice, and I don't even speak Norwegian... though I guess you really don't have to speak a language to determine the timber of a voice... but getting back to Jeff Leyton; I thought Gaelic was the national language of Ireland, why is he singing in English?

Irish Gaelic is the official language of Ireland, it is completely unrelated to English (and therefore is NOT a dialect of English) since it's a Celtic language like Welsh, Breton and Scottish Gaelic. (so you could say irish and scottish gaelic are dialects of gaelic)

This having been said, very few Irish people actually speak Gaelic, they just speak English, just like Welsh and Scottish people, or like how Breton people all speak French and not Breton.

@thefearlessT Technically, Ireland has two official languages, English and Irish (There's also Scots Gaelic and Manx, so it's more proper to say Irish.) He most likely isn't singing in Irish because the language has been dying out, so most areas there use English. But I agree, Jeff Leyton has an absolutely gorgeous voice.

Well the reason there aren't any other languages is because I got this audio from a video where the song was actually sung 'multilanguage style' like that(that's why the audio flew together so well XD ), and those were the only languages they had. Maybe those were the only countries doing Les Miz productions at the time. I think the reason they had alot of English versions was so the audience would know what part of the song they were on.
