@TheTruePsycho how can i contact Johan Södverqvist?!?! I love his music, dexter ost, this one, the guy's an artist! If I can't could you at least send me the sheet music? Thanks
I cant believe hollywood are doing a re-make of this.... They're going to kill it. I can see why they can't juet leave it alone as it was possibly one of my most favorite films (book is amazing as well)... Anyways, thanks for the upload :) brilliant piece of music.
saw this movie like almost 2 years ago and i love it. sad to see it being remade. there's a picture from the remake of the scene where oskar and eli meet in the courtyard of the apartment complex and the new eli is wearing a damn sno cap and jacket and shit. stupid. sad to see this will be discovered by the twifags and be compared to that piece of crap movie. this movie and daybreakers are REAL vampire movies.
Why do they need to remake this? It's perfect! As if America giving us Twilight wasn't bad enough, they have to remake THE best vampire movie I've ever seen. Sometimes...I hate being an American, cause we just look like a bunch of greedy assholes sometimes.
Couldn't believe how beautiful this theme was the first time i heard it in the film, and after lots of replay it is still one of the most beautiful themes i ever heard!
This track, actually, is like a moment of breathing. After moments of suspense, mistery, sadness, romance and loneliness suggested by the previous tracks, The Father is a temporary yet peaceful break into daylight before being thrown again into the darkness of this quite unique soundtrack.
Just a suggestion, though, that only music can bring.
What your talking about is the Main Theme, which comprises of 1/4 Eli and Oskar, 1/4 The Father, and most of all 1/2 Eli's theme. Just listen to The Main Theme and you'll know what i am talking about....
You're damn right! The other day I actually thought about what my top 5 favourite films would be and I realised they're all foreign films (including one british one). Hollywoods gotta up the game Im afraid if it ever wants its mantle back!
Yeah, Hollywood does have a lot of work to do in terms of story.
It seems nowadays that movies are tons of special effects and characters (and a storyline) made of cardboard.
In its defense, however, I do have to say that I was impressed by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I thought at first that it was a film geared more towards women, but when I saw it, I realized how alive the characters seemed. That's really what makes a movie great, not all this "all flash, no content" stuff.
yes - Håkan is the wonderful Pedofile who haunts for Eli, "father" is for Oskars Father, and no - this is played (also maybe) when Oscar meets his FATHER....
you should - it is amazing! so much deeper - when Eli kisses Oskar, he sees into Eli's mind and finds out how Eli became a vampire. I wont blow it for you.
This is played after Eli kills Jocke (Jack), it's actually pronounce that way. They were arguing and when Oskar was listening, this piece was being played. Hope this helps..
I went to the movie with a couple of friends, they thought it was ok but I just don't get how they can say that the movie was beyond great if you ask me :) It's one of those film where you get dragged into the mood of the film
It is amazing that many wievers have thought that Oscar's Father is gay. Any Swedish person would just say that they are just friends and drinking buddies. Swedish society and Swedish culture are different from those of North-America and of many other European countries, this is way many people have seen and understood this parte of the movie in such a different way.
if i correct i believe the title is refering to Oskar's father, because they play this piece during the scene where his dad and gay lover? start drinking
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Oskar's dad is gay, it's in the book. Well, when you consider Oskar's existence, his dad is bisexual, but in the book and movie, his current love interest is that one guy.
@Sweetmervs CD is cheaper to get on Amazon here, since I'm in the UK. Download also cheaper (£7.99). Not sure if that website distributes the digipak version either.

I love this very, very much, as much as I love the movie.
But I have a question, I hope someone can help me ;)
I think that this soundtrack is also used in "Leon - the professional"..
Am I right or are both soundtracks just quite similar? :\
Please, don't leave sarcastic comments, but I can't get rid of the feeling that I heard this soundtrack in another movie.
Thanks!! :)
Oh, yeah, I'm really sorry for my english, hope you're able to understand what I'm trying to tell you ;)

It is actually a reprise of Eli´s Theme, only played on two guitars and a 3/4 signature.

Its not a reprise of Eli's theme. Although some parts of Eli's theme have samples with this song, but it is much higher.
