Starting at 21:00, how were the 21 pilots chosen? Did Task Force 7 receive the pilot's permission for up to 50 REMs? I wonder how long these pilots lived after participating in this operations.
I don't know how many poeple actually do "trust" these films, but they are undeniably historic and technically fascinating. I presume that we as internet surfers receive info with a critical and thoughtful mind. Thank you, Talkingsticktv, for this series.
I don't trust any American government propaganda films like this. Talking of a "remote area" of the Pacific...Sick that in reality they bulldozed out hundreds of tribes with no compensation. During the CastleBravo testing a miscalculation was made and the explosion was twice as large as predicted, many of these clean-cut tidy military personnel were exposed to huge amounts of radiation. BAN THE BOMB.
@SYRUPLIFESTYLE ban it how? Knowledge isn't something you can ban. Now, we can stop making them, but nobody else will. Someone is going to use that knowledge to build themselves a bomb. You may as well try to ban thinking.
Telling pilots to fly thru the stem/stalk of the nuclear mushroom cloud in order to test the amount of radiation exposure that pilots will receive in various bombers was quite nuts.
Well, I certainly won't feel too bad about letting my car warm up for five minutes before I drive it anywhere this Winter.
