But you should,your translation is 100% correct.A kanaribird is the kind of little yellow bird that are commonly kept in cages.These are expressions or figures of speech if you like in norwegian.You can say about a strange creature or in some cases a thing that its "neither bird or fish"and you can for instance say:"he had a sack full of lobster and kanari"you can say the expression describes diversity.A "dromedille" is a mix of dromedar and krokodille.A good translation for hodgepodge,maybe?

I don't know about the translation for "hodgepodge" in norwegian, I tried finding some translation online to that word but I counldn't find anything.

Where does a word like "hodgepodge" come from anyway?Its a newer word,like dromedille.Not sure where it came from,but there was a norwegian inventor,Bror With,who invented a boat that would raise off the sea(norsk:plane) like a speedboat and still be stable at low speed,for instance when fishing.The shape of the hull was neither speedboat or displacement,but looked rather like a mix, so he named it "dromedille" after this expression.So it has to be older than that(60's)but not reached books yet.

I am also a mechanic and yes sir, Ford quality are no where no Honda. Once you purcahse a honda, it will run 10-20 years with out problems.
