@BoeingDelta You have to pay. Buy the base game, and then buy add ons (that's if you want quality ones). People I know have spent over a thousand AUD just on add ons. My modest incestment was about $400 but that's because I can share the costs with my old man who also uses FSX.

@crazymonkeydude10 If you follow ILS glide slope it is just like that, around 20 when you reach runway threshold. 50 at the runway means you can't land at this time and must do GA (go around).

@bells11967 This is one of the major mistakes in this Wilco model and also the reverse thrust is another. I do hope in their next release (if there will be) these can be fixed.

@MrTsnitros For ILS landing probably it's easier for you to follow some other tutorial. There should be plenty good ones, and this one is focused more on operating FMGC. The ILS approach only show up when you are close to airport. By the way it's always easier to start with a smaller plane instead of this huge bird.

@draipion At 0:22 I have inputted airport codes where VHHH is departing airport and ZGSZ is destination airport. By the way you don't need an extremely long runway for A380. At the end of the video after landing I can already exit runway safely at first exit which is less than 1/3 of the entire runway.

@draipion I didn't use any add-on airports. They were all originally included in FSX. Most likely you didn't install the airport properly, files must be put in correct folders -> try to follow carefully the installation instruction.

besides the reverse thrust being incorrect. wilco's landing gear animation is wrong too... makes landings UNREALISTIC. everything else is nicely made though. you forgot to show the "perf" page of the mcdu where you can program the v1, vr and v2 etc. its best to merge the wilco's cockpit with overland a380.

@LiLTMac123 I do agree with you. I think in overall Wilco is quite OK. Nothing is perfect, right? Certainly, there are a couple of more pages that I could have shown, but to keep this demo brief and to the point, I skipped some pages. Settings of V1, VR, V2 really depend on situations, some other parameters such as flight number, flight level ... too many of them, are simply not the focus of this demo. thrust reversal is wrong, only two of four have reversers, maybe added for inexperienced people to stop sooner, or they forgot.

@jfsa380 True, I also noticed this is wrong from this model. My guess is that for modelling it's just easier to put 4 same engines with reverser. In reality 4 reversers do not contribute too much to stop the aircraft sooner than 2. I heard that A380 was even initially planned without thrust reversers.

Hi I wanted to ask that I can do is the radar where with me everything is displayed in red I have in the onboard computer which you played around show and now is nothing more then the show with me in the cockpit of any height and speed for the autopilot. There are only yellow dashes as if everything would be deleted.

@lippel1993 Remember that the radar takes some time to "align" so it will remain red until you set all others correctly. It's pretty hard to figure out where your problem is, but most likely you missed something in the settings, perhaps just one single click. If you follow the demo once again, step by step, I think it should work out. Good luck!

The airport must have been very low on traffic lol whether this was intentional for the demo, not sure. Good vid :)

From reality point of view I totally agree with you. Of course you don't do these settings on the runway, even if there is very low traffic. Well this video is mainly aiming to show the steps how to set FMGC for navigation, and others are neglected. So by default the FSX will put the aircraft straight on the runway. Besides, I didn't set so many way-points as in real world, and you don't either fly to a 40-km away neighbor airport with an A380 in real world :)

@costateguise It's a great pleasure to know you as a real world captain. For me I'm just an enthusiast in Microsoft Flight Simulator since 1993. I do all the operations just by following the manuals, and hopefully they are correct in real world. I have got all Private, Instrument Rating, Commercial and ATP certificates in FS2002, FS2004 and FSX, and they are damn difficult especially to pass the ATP, even in a Flight Simulator :)

This aircraft is Wilco A380. I didn't use autopilot for landing. I landed completely manually, by hand only, because it's more fun.

The glide slope is just defined by ILS frequency of the runway which you're targeted for landing and I have done that in FMGC setups before the takeoff. But the voice reading of Altimeter comes from the Wilco Airbus A380 model. That's means you won't hear such reading with FSX build-in aircrafts.

Basically to fly any modern aircrafts they are always equipped with FMGC, it's a fundamental part of avionic systems. Programming the flight plan (airports, runways, GPS routes, way-points, navigations) and other technical settings (flaps, V1, Vr, V2, engine settings, etc...) are all done through this.

I'm not sure if there are free FMGC add-ons, at least Wilco models are payware.

Yes you have to download add-ons. The one I have used is a commercial add-on (Wilco Airbus A380). Not sure if there are also free ones available.

Good point. It really looks a bit like that. But when I watched carefully I think this could be the illusion caused by camera angles. In those cases when you feel the right engines are smaller than the left because left engines have more side views from that angle. I have then used on screen tool to measure the diameters of intake of engines and proved the right side is indeed bigger than left :)
