  • Two great players.. Nuff said !!

  • jimmy white was my hero as a child and still is my favourite. is it true he never won the uk championship??

  • Brilliant.

  • amazing, great quality too!

  • Love Drago's sportsmanship. He was grinning the whole way.

  • @DreamAboutNightmares Yeah hats off to the guy for being so generous in his appreciation of a great break. Lovely to see.

  • Of Jim left drugs alone he may have been champion. Another case of cheats getting caught out in his case.

  • @onlywhenpissed i have heard this before .When did Jimmy took drugs ?

I mean in what stage of his career ? the years

  • what a miserable old twat that ref is telling the kid in the crowd to SHUT UP sounds funny and jimmy made the 147 anyway would have understood it if jimmy had missed the final black.

  • a great break and i defo agree with the comments jimmy is a legend of the game and if it hadnt have been for hendry and davis he would have been a world champion at least once.

  • awesome

  • Terrific stuff!

I am and was a Hendry fan, but it does sadden me that Jimmy couldn't at least win one world title.

    A gentleman and superb talent!

Well done Tony Drago too......real sportsmanship.

  • <3

  • this is bulak shot... the great jimmy white...

  • maybe jimmy never won in sheffield but for me and most people he will stay as the most popular and beloved snooker player in the history.

  • It was amazing to be there - in the front row with a blue bellringing teeshirt. All before mobile phones so rushed to the payphone to get home to VCR it. And the shot with the rest just didn't disturb the flow at all. Our Jimmy. Great stuff. Not quite so much fun for Jimmy-fans was sitting watching the Hendry ten-frame blast to win the final. Ho hummm

  • Who would you rather watch Higgins v White (Greatest players) or Davis v Hendry (Best players)? Come on Jimmy!

  • @Darrenov Obviously you're making a point about entertainment value. But if you're talking about the greatest/best/most successful/ ..... then clearly Davis or Hendry wins. Any sport is played at the top level to win, Jimmy White won a lot, but not nearly as much as those two. I love to watch jimmy play also, a true genius.

  • @widebody123 Higgins changed snooker and brought it to mass viewing, Jimmy carried it on. These players are truly gifted but not necessarily the most successful. All sports have these players. Sport is entertainment.

  • @Darrenov Actually BBC2 brought snooker to mass viewing. The original idea was to highlight colour tv. Then it became a global sport.

  • @widebody123 Snooker had been on the TV 13 years prior to snookers golden age circa 1982.

  • what a genius, i thoroughly recommend jimmys autobiography " behind the white ball", what a read, i think he gambled away the 100 k he got for the 147 in a few days.

  • It's just nice to see how in the old times their opponents used to applause and hug those who made 147 breaks.. Not like the modern times when they're just handshaking weakly and thinkin something like 'fuck you lucker'.

  • For me, a much better player than O'Sullivan ; how could this man have bottled his two best chances in this year and '94 ? ; it could have been the fairytale icing on the cake of his great career

  • 7 people are right handed.

  • طاولتكم الطوييييلة!

  • FUCK!!!!!!

  • A pro like Jimmy makes this shit look easy, when your watching from your comp, you think shit man,I could do that, but when your standing in front of a 5 ft by 10 ft snooker table, and you see all that long green, then you realize just how much skill it takes to make a 147 break.

  • @NAMTRIP it's not 5 by 10 it's 6 by 12 !

  • magnificent stuff

  • 11th black

    what a SHOT

  • That table is in need of serious repair, look at how worn the felt is.

  • magnificent break.....

  • Shame he never won the world championship.

  • @capricious71 Yeah, real shame. He lost in the final on 6 occasions. He was fab to watch. He played really exciting, classy snooker if you ask me.

  • My favourite player EVER. Jimmy was a class act. Amazing player.

  • I love Drago's facial expression at 07:33

  • Drago tried to qualify for the 2011 world championship. Didn't get in though. Shame.

  • jimmy white is the best!!!

  • I tell ya cheering for that bloke ... the high's and the low's ; nothing quite like it . 1994 final was the worst for every Jimmy fan I think . This 147 was typical for him with all the difficulties underway ...

  • Was there ever a more fluent player than Jimmy, best player never to win a world championships

  • Tony Drago was one bad tempered mother fucker....who had lets say a gambling problem...but i loved watching him.

  • wow man i cant belive Hahahahah! number one in the world Jimmy White super.

  • Drago is an corrput as Higgins. He threw game after game back in the day

  • @tizzard1970 Do you know of any videos or articles about this? I believe you, I'd just be curious to learn more. I've never heard of a snooker player throwing a match (though I'm no expert) - I've only heard of that kind of thing in boxing.

  • i think you miss understand. You define me as I say that he should know what he can or cant do you know for now tony drago cannot do as he did in the past so he should calm and keep long breaking

  • @Gof100sop I suppose Drago wasn't too bad, ranked number 10 in the world at his peak, compiled 114 century breaks, won the 2003 world pool masters, reached the semi-finals of the world pool championship that year too. Yeah he's shit, isn't he? I'm sure you are incredible at both snooker and pool aren't you?

  • tony drago try to act like ronnie by fast potting. fuking retard

he should know that what he can do and what he cannot do

dont pretend to be anybody else

  • @Gof100sop, if you knew a single jot about snooker (which you don't, clearly) then you'd know that the 'retard' Drago was always known for his fast play, and was practising it many years before O'Sullivan even came on the scene. The fact that, at this stage of 1992, O'Sullivan was only just turning professional should tell you that Drago had no reason to try and be your beloved Ronnie, and nor was he trying to be.

Think before you type next time, you might not embarrass yourself so much.

  • @Gof100sop Tony Drago is Tony Drago. Ronnie O'Sullivan was 16 years old when this match took place. Don't pretend to be a snooker fan.

  • @Gof100sop haha you moron, Drago was around years before Ronnie, plus he could play at the same speed as Ronnie could, he made a century break in 3 mins and 33secs

  • Proven by stats (ranking titles, ranking history, century breaks) the top 8 snooker players of the modern era:

    1. Stehpen Hendry

    2. Ronnie O'Sullivan

    3. John Higgins

    4. Steve Davis

    5. Jimmy White

    6. Mark Williams

    7. Peter Ebdon

    8. Ken Doherty

  • @steviemax147 Watching Peter Ebdon is like watching paint dry, how he's on that list i'll never understand

  • @thereeldeel07 Yeah i agree, but stats don't lie.

  • what arseholes disliked this classic for snooker

  • This was the second time in the space of a few months that Drago was on the receiving end of a 147 break.

James Wattana did it a couple of months earlier and he did so with the knowledge that his father was gravely ill in hospital after being shot the previous day (Wattana wasn't told his father had died 'till after the match).

  • legend

  • 100,000 in 1992, you could buy a fecking country lol

  • 'Goo oon Jimmay' 'Shatap'

  • mabye one day i will get a 147!

  • Drago has a crush on Jimmy! :P

  • love it.....class..!!

  • True sportsmanship by Drago.

  • Come on Jimmy! He got through to the last round of qualifying for the UK today, he's got to play Joe Perry in a couple of days... He'll play Hendry in the first round if he gets through... I'll be cheering for him anyway!

  • Jimmy Got that 100,000 pounds.

  • Dam!!!!,Jimmy was in the zone.

  • 6:06 take pink for 146? nope black lol! yessssss

  • Ahahahaha 8:48.. "Shaatttuppp" Best Ref Ever

  • i love watching this guy play.

  • get in there lad!

  • Miss these days and David Vine like crazee. Moved to the US so haven't followed the game since '91. Just learned of Hurricane's passing. Jimmy, cool as ice here and kudos to Drago for the love. I wish Jim just had that 1 trophy under his belt. Still the most popular of them all.

  • WOW its great 2 see that again, i think people forget how good jimmy was & in 1992 is was in the best form of his life he should have won the embassy world championship that year but as always with jimmy ever the bridesmaid never the bride, jimmy white in my mind is the best player in the world to never win the world championship & my all time favourite player, he had less hair in those days too & drago is a better pool player than he is a snooker player jimmy is a legend & still loved by fans

  • Fair does Drago's pot attempt at the beginning was just foolish.

  • bgjjqwyyqwyrwoui

  • i like drago sportmanship, real class man. Beautiful 147 by white.

  • @89Slh

  • nice 147 by jimmy, thanks for uploading

  • watching jimmy just now playing in the world open and had to come here to see bald spot, coz it aint there no more, tut tut jimmy with the wig ha ha!

  • Superb !

  • jimmy's got to be one of, if not the most fluid player ever !!

  • very quick stupid

  • tony shoot very quickly without thinking he thinks it's brilliance

  • LOL d at that message where SNOOKASUS said he liked the fast game

but had to sit though the whole frame in the chair watching a 147 wat a loser

  • While Ronnie's fastest 147 is flawless this one is flawed in so many ways. And hence that much more beautiful.

  • Please Cheak out my home snooker videos! Rate And Suscribe!

  • what a genius and what a great sportsman this drago is here!!!

  • you could see drago wanted jimmy to get that break. they would be lucky to even get an applause off the other player nowadays.

  • jimmy white ftw... did u notice how fast he played the frame...and how fearless and fast last pot.. not a drain of sweat ... for me hes the best of all, despite of a half dosen lost crusibles:)

toni drago anarchy in snooker ..love him also^^

  • 00:39 Talk about no defensive thinking.

  • Top class! Gust can't believe this guy has lost 6 Crucible finals :(

  • I admired Mr. Drago in the nineties. A great player and a great person too, always played well and always gracious in defeat. I remember watching him when I was about seven or eight and still remember him today as an influence on my love for the game. Jimmy White is of course a legend as well!

  • he should have won it that year. he was 14-8 up in the final then lost 18-14

he played some great stuff in that years tournament. beat drago and i think jim wych and alan mcmanus.

  • Great days..still there's a lot of cameraderie in the sport but much more in those days, Jimmy was as is a great servant to the game..

  • 8:49

    'Shut up'!!

  • So awesome.

  • What a nice hug from drago... Seldom see that, do we? And a warm applause after that too. Heh.

  • i hated tony dragos's game.

    everything was crash-bang , crash-bang.

  • I agree: you can see Tony Drago's true sportsmanship by the magnanimous way he takes defeat in his stride and congratulates Jimmy White. That's what I call class.

  • Great times! What always gets me is the genuine applause and congratulations from Drago..top man!!!

  • @danpanb05 Amen, brother. A nice thing to see in sport indeed.

  • i was just thinking that one modification to the game is to not have the ref say the score after every shot. just seems old now. we have all the computer screens at the venue and on tely you don't need that

  • it's not so we know what the break is though, it's so the crowd and players know what it is

  • i get you but in the evolving of the game i would imagine that they would have screens which tell the crowd the score at all times easily too, so you wouldn't need that

  • jimmy is the best player ever with his spin shots

  • @janthar217 and the rest

  • totally

  • amazing cue power..

  • i just heard the ref say shuttap to the audience. Top bloke!

  • @havingahardon I don't think it's the ref...I think it's Jimmy lol. Can understand why though, all that pressure for £147,000 - maybe!

  • come on u rocket!!!we love the rocket sullivan!!!

  • Jimmy White Loved by all. Shame he didnt get the big one. I am not talking about my dick either. That is average at best.

  • I saw Stephen Hendry live make a 147 in 7 minutes in the Trusthouse Forte snooker league but i don't think any player could have pulled off that break except Jimmy White.

  • yeah dad lived in Exeter. He loved his snooker, even when he wasnt a ref he still watched and made notes. Dont think there was anything he didnt know about the game xx

  • @sammyjane36

Ah John was an absolute gent from what I was told. My dad knew him and had nothing but good things to say about him

Great Ref and top bloke. RIP

  • fantastic play !

hope Jimmy will play well in Wembley masters and make a come back in 2010!

  • yeah, he kicked ass, shame he dont do it anymore though.

  • this was my lovely dad refereeing. xx

  • Really. John Street was a great referee and loved the game. Probably the best referee and certainly the most respected of all the players. One of the few referees who Alex Higgins rated highly. RIP John Street. Wasnt he from Exeter?

  • wow 130 000 pound for 11 minutes work. Good work, Theres a house and a car (cheap) Nice

  • say you play better....

  • I didn't state that I was better. But look at the first shot he played.would you call it a good, intelligent, smart,or good shot in any way possible?I hope not. That's what he did the a lot of the time which is stupid considering snooker is such a precise and skillful game. And the stupidity of that shot caused him to lose the frame and concede a break of 147.

  • Well, I don't know why you have that opinion about the first shot, it's almost the same type of shot for every break in snooker, even Ronnie O'Sullivan and Jimmy White have had this particular beginning; anyway, I think Tony Drago has an excellent cue control and speed.

    Have a nice new year!!

  • CAR CAR CAR CAR CAR I SAMO CAR

  • We teens of the 80´s here in Finland also hailed Jimmy already back then for his easy-go-cigarette-smoking manner and wizardry. Too bad there was always guys like Steve Davis or Stephen Hendry ahead of him to grab those titles, of course not taking anything off their greatness either.

  • i dont think it's called a "147 BREAK" if it's not a consecutive run after the break, i think its just called a 147. I'm not sure.... I am sure that if the opponent never gets to shoot then it's called a maximum break, And if you know that i'm wrong, please leave a reply to post, dont just Downrate the post.

  • Hiya daleetMeh

Even though the initial shot to Hit the balls is called a break off shot the break starts as soon as the first red is potted.

So if a player such as Jimmy here pots 15 reds and blacks and all the colours it is a 147 Break.

  • Thanks for the info, i live in the states so i dont play much snooker, I would really love to play more, but i cant remember the last time i saw a public table w/ snooker balls.

  • retarded little fucking 12 year old squeeky cunt, go and play halo

  • So if it's boring why com here you fucking Cock but hey you have something in common it's just like your Channel prick.

  • Fuck you

  • Hahaha here come the retarded snooker fans!

  • Perfection from the greatest player never to win the World Championship - though I STILL dream that he will one year!

Credit to Tony Drago as well - a sporting gentleman in the great way he congratulates Jimmy at the end.

  • I agree but i don't think he has the hunger to win it anymore it certainly is a young mans game now.

I personally think Jimmy is the most gifted player ever to pick up a cue what he could do with a cue ball is second to nobody and before all you Hendry and o'sulliavn fans start jumping all over me and criticising i didn't say the geratest player i said the most gifted player it's just a shame his temprement couldn't take him over the finish line.

  • ur so rite, jimmy was great, really good control of the cue ball, i doubt he wud win the title now but i have been watching him for 20 years now, the fact he was in so many finals shows how good he was.

  • yer vote jimmy 4 im a celeb

  • JIMMYS GONE OUT

  • lol he made dat look easy

I bet other guy was pissed

  • everyone you gotta vote for jimmy to win celebrity get me out of here hes a 100% LEGEND

  • Opera House !!!!!

  • Had the pleasure of having a few pints with this GENT in The Spa Hotel In Lucan once

  • if you made a 148 would he get 148,000 pounds?

  • doesn't matter who does it, or how for that matter, 147s are always such a beautiful art

  • everybody vote for jimmy

  • vote for jimmy tonight plz

  • Is Dr Ago just his dj name or what?

  • No, Drago is his surname. He is from Malta

  • Hes just sheer brilliance !!! But the most talented player was alex higgins !

    Well done jimmy ;-)

  • Is this hard to do?

  • YES.

  • great days

  • you`re great Jimmy, but loose the hairpiece. Looks like a dead animal

  • Of all the tough luck stories in sport Jimmy's is right up there. I was right behind for every frame of every WC. The fact that he hasn't let defeat crush him is testament to his greatness. He will be remembered as a great. Thanks JW!

  • thats because he's left handed you muppet!!!

  • These 2 players actually cleared the table with 3 reds remaining on Big break

  • The best thing about this to me, is he used his fucking left hand for the whole thing!

  • yeah... even he did not win world championship.. but for me.. he still the best!

  • Thank you for posting this. I was just talking to a friend about this break and how I remember watching it with my Dad as a teenager, and here it is for her to see. Lovely to re-watch it after all this time. x

  • 4;50 omg

  • well played.

  • Talk about side spin!!!

    Awesome!!!

  • Both these players cleared the table with 3 reds on make or break on Big break

  • Jimmy the best

  • Drago also never came to a subsistance, where he could have been from his abilities!

    2 incredible talented playes...

  • I remember this one ... my grandad woke me up to watch it on telly. Super Jimmy ! Pitty he never won the comp' :(

  • John Virgo wrecks my head

  • jimmy not winning the world championship is still the greatest injustice in the history of sport

  • @thegoodnamesrallgone yes, it's rather painful that he didn't, but I hate to sound harsh, he did have his chance to win it in 1994 didn't he, when he missed that black. All he needed was a few more reds. Damn shame. I had a housemate once who was actually there, and he told me Jimmy lost his temper and damaged the cloth, had to all be reset. It was cut from transmission. Still not sure whether I believe that or not.

  • i love this guys...

    fuck yeah!...

    awes0me man!

  • that hair deserves 100 thousand pounds

  • What a shot with the rest.

  • Great! Jimmy is on the up again this season! Hopefully can he reach the Crucible again after 2 years without Jimmy..

  • how many racks do they play to win the whole game???

  • I think it was a best of 11 game. That was used in the first rounds by the WPBSA...

  • best of 19

  • what I said there ?? xDDD

    Thx thesnookerplanet! hehe

The Crucible.. it's of course best of 19!! :)

    *shame

  • @thesnookerplanet Jimmy White,And Ronnie O are my favorite players ever.

  • stupid quick bull
