The song is by Carlinhos Brown, NOT Sergio Mendes! It's on Sergio's album "Brasileiro", but if you check the credits, you'll see that Carlinhos wrote half the songs on the album, including this one! Carlinhos is the one singing as well! Mais Que Nada is also NOT Sergio's song. Every Brazilian knows Mas Que Nada is by Jorge Ben Jor. Sergio just takes songs written by black Brazilians and turns them into hits.

For this scene, all the dancers on the floor were actual professional ballroom dancers including Vanessa’s partner Rick Valenzuela, and Vanessa blended right in among them...it really shows how hard she trained for all her dance scenes...it’s great movie too...

Yes, in "real life" all the dancers in this scene (with the exception of Vanessa) were professional dancers...in fact most were championship winners, competing world wide; thus Vanessa had to work very hard to appear natural among such stellar company...

@dalipr20 Thank you, dalipr20. I didn't see the movie, so I don't know what music is playing. Yet, on the dance, definitely that is not brazilian samba. All dancers on this video are as taut as a bowstring. It seems to me they are dancing flamenco. Here, in Brazil, we didn't dance samba like this. Posture is more relaxed, more natural. The Samba is one of the most difficult dances out there. You have to have a 6th sense to do this correctly. I can do it(thank God)but it is very hard to hit those beats in Samba music because it is multiple fast beasts one after another....not for the weak...
