Remember Vic.. it's not US doing any works that are worthy..it is the Holy Spirit working THROUGH us that does the works.. That is quite different than what James taught HIS followers to do..They were watching you like a hawk..and for them..circumcision was the first thing you better do..if you wanted to claim you were in the body of Christ.

@JacobGboy Hello Jacob, What you have today is an UNTRAINED group of Phoney Baloney Pastors that all teach the same tripe..who agree with each other "lockstep". So IF you come and say to them "the king has no clothes" you're quickly labeled a "evil doer". Scripture blasts their false teachings right out of the water. So when you step on their toes or turn over their tables they react with anger. Not much changes from the days of Jesus till now huh..! GALATIANS 1:3 to you and yours.

There is no contradiction between Paul and James regarding what is necessary for salvation for it is faith. Works are resultant of true faith, in God through Jesus Christ. And in my experience, God's holy spirit dictates to you your works, not yourself because that creates vanity. A true christian is not one who sits on his laurels saying I believe and does not do, but one who does work that is directed in Christ name I.E. "Go out and make disciples in my name.." This is just my humble opinion

well rewriting scripture is one way to make the faith only argument. Not sure I would do it, but then again, I let my works prove my faith, which is what James is telling us. let actually quote James "What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?" "So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead."

James and Paul were opposed TO each other..all throughout the NT Epistles..!

@EWETUBER2 Her faith was wrought in works!! That is exactly what James is saying! In 7:47 Jesus says "Her sins are forgiven; FOR she LOVED much" this is not to say that her Love was Meritorious of God's Grace, but that it was the fulfilment of her Faith (James 2:23).

Works never MERIT Grace, it is by Grace that we serve (Heb 4:16, 12:28; Tit 2:11-15).

We receive Grace thru Faith as EVIDENCED by our works... no works = no faith; no faith = no Grace; no Grace = No Salvation.

@EWETUBER2 You have no understanding of what you are saying... the Holy Spirit does not make mistakes. Romans Chapter 3:31, "Do we then make void the Law through Faith? May it never be! Yea we Uphold and ESTABLISH the Law".

Hebrews 11:33 "Who THROUGH FAITH... WORKED RIGHTEOUSNESS!"

Matt 7 "Those who DO the Will of My Father"; 25 "As much as you DID it to the least..." etc, etc.

EVERY SINGLE BOOOK OF SCRIPTURE TEACHES THAT FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD!

Abraham believed God,( literally faithed God ).. and it ( his Faith )..was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

@ChristusVlCTOR So ONLY in James does it say that "Faith without works is dead".. AND looking at the rest of scripture James is proven to be in error. Which btw is why James was included in the Cannon..to show us..how "wrong minded" James really was back then with what he taught. He opposed Paul at every turn..with his leagalistic self righteousness.

You are going to stand accountable for your actions one day (EVERY SINGLE JUDGEMENT PASSAGE in Scripture deals with Works), and what you are doing by posting your comments, is called False Teaching. The bible indicates that the worst punishment is reserved for false teachers, I urge you to take thought, and repent.

@ChristusVlCTOR Sadly VIC..you're like many Christians today..just call people names that aren't true when they come and try to tell you something..you're just running away from the subject by offering up a "your an evil doer headed for the fires of hell" type answer that probably makes you feel good about yourself..BUT you have no scripture to refute any of the points I made AND that is where the rubber meets the road my friend. @EWETUBER2 Christian Orthodoxy considers James to be INSPIRED BY GOD, and PROFITABLE for DOCTIRNE ~2 Tim 3:16; you reject this, the correct biblical term for that is Heresy, the Scripture commands, A Heretic after the second admoniton reject... I have given you atleast that much Grace, here an in Private Messages... you ignore the Spirit of God, and reject His Teachings, there is nothing left for me to do but tell you to repent, or you shall perish... and then Obey Jesus, and reject you.

@ChristusVlCTOR Vic..You never heard me say James wasn't part of the Bible did you..? So why say that to me unless you only want to smear me..? From scripture we can learn alot from James..we all should learn how NOT to make the same errors he obviously did...

PS, JOHN 7:5 and ACTS 21:20..should be your "scriptural" starting point to learn about James. NO faith in Jesus while Jesus was alive ..and a Law keeping Zealot at the end of his ministry and thus not zealous for Jesus.

You're just not scripturally "mature" enough to understand what I'm telling you. So your first reaction is to lash out..call names and claim I'm an "evil doer'", all because of your lack of a solid biblical teaching foundation.
