It's nice to see thick hair tips from someone who actually HAS thick hair, unlike most hairdressers who don't even know what they're talking about. My hair is about your length. I've bookmarked this!
Just want to add, as a general note to everybody, you should never ever flatiron (or curl) your hair if it is not completely dry because you can do serious damage to it if it is even slightly wet. Don't apply high heat techniques to damp hair.
I'm so glad I found someone with really thick hair. I now have layers in my hair and I hate them because it makes the top of my hair "mushroomy" looking so I'm planning on getting all the layers cut off to about your length. My question is, is there anything you have specially done to the ends of your hair so it doesn't puff out at the bottom? I tend to get the "pyramid effect" when I have no layers so I'm just trying to figure out what I could have the stylist do to my ends to thin them out?
You seem like a really nice makeup guru:) this is just what i needed. i'll so be purchasing the products, because right now since i'm still new at blowdrying my hair it takes me like 2 hrs! so thanks ^w^
my hair is very curly/thick/wavey/puffy/ other stuff like that if i brush my hair it looks like i got shocked like lighting ll but i treid your tips and it works!!!! thank you sooo freakin much!
I love that chi iron guard!!! MAGIC I TELL YOU! My hair is the same quality as it was before I ever started straightening my hair, around a year ago. Guess why. I use chi iron guard :D
omg u just saved my life i have thick, curly ,frizz hair and it is crazy so thank u iand im happy cause i didnt no u had to use iron guard so that good that i no now
If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.
@bieberfeverforever19 Sometimes people do, cause when you really have such thick/curly/damaged hair that takes like hours to wash, condition, and then style then yeah.
Hello, i'm English and i have MAJORLY thick+frizzy hair.. and i'd love to try this, but can you get these in England.. i hope so.. THANKS FOR THE HELP, if not i'll try and find some others:Dxx
thank you soooooo much for this tutorial! I have thick hair too and it's very annoying. I'm really going to try this!
I have still one question, how many times do you wash your hair? Because you say it stays straight for one week. And when you wash it like once a weak, how do you keep it uhmm clean (like not 'fat' or how do you say that in english? I'm dutch, haha). My hair becomes 'fat' really fast :s
@yrlie hi :) I wash my hair right before I straighten it and then I don't wash it for the rest of the week until I feel like my hair needs to be cleaned. When it's not straight I tend to wash it at least every other day and I am guilty of washing it sometimes everyday because I put a lot of product in my hair to keep it down!
I had to have 4 1/2 inches cut off my hair because it was very dead and fried from flat irons even though I always used heat protectant..now I am scared to do anything to my hair
Im a guy and I have that extreme thick hair and this seems like so much work lol I always wanted thin hair but now I just wear beanies and caps all the time
@sparklexshineblog try john frieda root awakening shampoo & conditioner or the new garnier triple nutrition shampoo & conditioner-they both work great for me!
@GrandMasterCero Hi! It's hard having curly hair I know! Do you go to a salon to get your hair cut? If so maybe next time ask them to straighten it for you with a flat iron and see how that works out...I recommend the sedu iron or the chi flat iron. Other than that I'd say google straightening tips for men so you can get some great advice. Hope I could help and good luck :)
this was really helpful cuz i have thick hair and i just cut and for some reason when i straighten it it tends to look brittle and dry ugh..thanks for this.
I believe we got the same type of hair!!!! Its crazy

The benefit of having thick hair is we don't have to wash it as often. I wash it about once a week too, depending how I feel

Why would you want to STRAIGHTEN that hair?
Do you know how incredible you would look with some wave or even curl?
Straight hair is unexciting, but curl is exciting and sexy!
