Heel hooks attack your ankle that's right,but there is a thing called ACL in the knee which is also attacked by the heel hook and if you tear it it's months of rehab. I think GSP suffered an ACL injury few weeks/month ago

Plus, try doing a kneebar and putting the leg behind your instead of hugging it.

He is a good instructor. For leg locks, the best instructors I found out there would be Frank Shamrock, Tony Ceccene, and Erik Paulson - by far. Actually check out Paulson's 3 DVD series on leg manipulation. Most bjj schools don't teach these techniques.

I agree with MMA legend. In the 90's as UFC Champion he was light years ahead of the other competitiors. Everyone cought on, and caught up, but he was very impressive early on. Injuries seem to have taken their toll on Mr. Shamrock.
