I am a total hiphop/reggae-head, but Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gay and Stevie Wonder. Man, I love 'em, a black mans voice, you just can't compare with that.
I bought the Vinyl LP 'Otis Blue' as a 20 year old in 1965. It is still in excellent condition, even though it has been played many times on my old Dansette Record Player.
I think it is unfair to compare recordings of the same song because 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. But I always prefer Otis' recording over the Temptations because of his raw soul sound that oozes emotion.
Otis Blue is one of the greatest soul albums of all time.
great choice as usual.....class tune..ty!

I was educated with Otis, that's why I can say I have the best mom and aunt ever. That was my fav song when I was 7, and it still is !

This song was written by Smokey Robinson for the Temptations at Motown. Otis nails it in his own soulful style.

I was born in the 80's, musically raised by Hip Hop, but THIS... This just makes me want to know how to sing and play a trumpet. Otis is the man!
