@manongpony A portuguese dubbed version was aired here in Brazil from the late 60's/early 70's until at least 2007, and they dubbed Tom saying something like "damn, too much working for nothing". This dubbed version was aired only in SBT, a free-to-air tv channel. Brazilian version of the Cartoon Network still broadcasting Tom and Jerry's theatrical shorts, but they broadcast without the early dubbing.

LOL I wasn't saying that comment to be serious though. I just think it would have been funny in an alternate version, by the time the safe is ready to fall. Jerry is already back inside his room . Already Ate the cheese and gone to sleep.
Because the procdure of the trap is smilar of how objects and shit are going to go to kill the charater in the FD movies. I guess Jerry had the premointion and Tom was the victim.
