Far easier to build a circuit to change the lighting according to the conditions the radio is in. Then you wouldn't need to use up other switches.

I Have a 29 wx nw st and it happened to be Black and White Wire for the controls,

the face burned out just like a flourecent tube you can buy new ones at cobra for 25.00

@cbtruthteller You can repair the face of a cobra 148 NW with tiny LEDs. Try blue

On the cobra 29 nw st the orange and black wires have to be soldered together. Not the black and green. Orange and black will give you the ability to change your channel via the channel knob. Orange and green gave me channel "1" and that's it.
