Just dont finish the mission and she will always follow you but you can't give her weapons or armour so it kinda sucks. Can be started by talking to Abraham Washington in Rivet City.

@XHelloXKittyx100 Finish the quest "Waters of Life", in which you have to escape from the Enclave in the Jefferson memorial, than fast travel to vault 101 & pick up the distress signal from the radio which will activate a sidequest. Go inside the vault 101 to start the quest. Than you have convince the overseer to open the vault door, if that doesn't work kill the overseer & finish the quest, than leave Vault 101, wait for 24 hours & you will find butch in a bar at Rivet City. Hope this helps.

half my followers are really hard to kill also they regain their full health after every battle and fawkes is immortal its a glitch i think because i used like 12 mini nukes on him and not a single bar of health was lost

@z3ro146 hmmm i dont think fawkes is immortal, he just has a rediculous amout of life! its been a long while but i tried VERY hard to kill him back when i played fo3. i started out by stacking 100 or so bottlecap mines next to him, then shooting him enough to go hostile and trigger the mines, then i followed up with as many mini nukes as i could strait to his face, thanks to vats. i think i had somewhere around 60 plus mini nukes. i remember taking at least 2 or 3 bars down. was fun!!!!!!!!
