Great video! My kids love Baby Einstein also. So, we made our own 27 minute version called 5 on the Farm--Our kids loved it! It took A LOT of work to make it, it wasn't easy!
But it was worth it to see our kids smiling and so happy. Hopefully it will bring a smile to other children as well! Good Job! I gave your video a 5 star rating!
some of yall are f*ing idiots! maya is beautiful!! and obviously not stuck in front of a tv all the time!! my 7 month old watches baby einstein when i get out of class in the afternoon.. he is perfectly fine and tries to say the names of things when i say them to him.. he loves it!! so yall stupid people just shut up and go bug someone else.. pa-leez!!!
This is so cute! I had a video of my niece up, but after 200,000 views and a whole lot of people who thought they knew something about children posting hurtful comments I took it down... not because I believe them, but simply because i was sick or reading the comments.
People... watch the video and appreciate that it is cute. If you think people actually care what you have to say about children then write a book or start a website, but stop spending hours on YouTube wishing someone cared.
all those baby education stuff are silly anyway. if its an orange, its not always in orange colour. there are many shades of colours. I remember looking at a picture and an object was in some purple colour, while the teacher said look at the red object. I was confused.
its better to let the kids out in the nature. if ancient egyptians learned the colours by looking at the flax seeds or goats, then todays kids can also learn colours from looking at whatever grows and walks behind their house.
Sadly, the American Academy of Pediatrics would not approve of what's happening here, as well intentioned as I'm sure it must have been.
They recommend that children under the age of 2 should not watch TV at all. Baby Einstein makes false claims and parents should be extremely wary of "educational" products aimed at babies.
Disney, the producers of B.E. are not interested in Maya's wellbeing - they just want your money.
I thought free-content encyclopedia means you dont have to pay. anyway if random people write articles, why is wikipedia treated as an unreliable source? we should stop letting kids reading books in the library cause random people wrote those books. first forbidden book should be the bible. it says slavery is allowed. how nice from a loving god. the damn book is full of crimes against humanity. it clearly describes gods genocides and mass killings of david and moses.

Wow. Some of you people are nut cases. Sofiawahaj, understand that these extremists are finding something to complain about and be hurtful to you. Plenty of other people who have watched your video thought it was fine.
This is incredibly irresponsible and bad parenting. Experts on child development say that NO child under the age of two should watch television. You are a sucker for the company's marketing. Watching "Baby Einstein" videos will not make them smarter and ironically will do harm. Turn off the television.
Maya is now two, and she describes herself as loquacious. I'm not advocating any product. I'm sharing a video with friends and family. While there are valid arguments against TV, Baby Einstein, and giving babies whiskey, please take any condenscending, self-righteous commentary to another village.

PS Crackerjack113 said is incomplete. the study found that the OVER Exposure of products like Baby Einstein cause a delay in speach, not just exposure.
Don't you just HATE all the people who try to tell you that Baby Einstein is bad for our kids??!!! I bet they have never sat down and watched them all. If they would they would see how good the ones for older babies are!! My daughter is 28 months and has been watching them since she was 6 months. We have people ask us all the time if she is 4! She is so smart compared to "none" Baby Einstein babies! Louie is so cute! I love his name!!
The study's authors, Drs. Frederick Zimmerman, Dimitri Christakis, and Andrew Meltzoff, concluded that, among infants aged 8 to 16 months, exposure to "baby DVDs/videos" — such as Baby Einstein and Brainy Baby — was strongly associated with lower scores on a standard language development test. Among toddlers aged 17 to 24 months, the study found no significant effects, either negative or positive, for any of the forms of media that were viewed.
Our 2 month old daughter kicks her legs and gets excited whenever she sees her parents, cousins, neighbours, trees, flowers and the mobile hanging above her cot.
Sometimes she just like to sit quietly - I guess to reflect or something.
We certainly don't intend to close her mind and stifle her natural curiosity and desire to form relationships by sticking her in front of the goggle box.
just because a baby is sitting in front of a "goggle box" doesn't mean her mind is closed, stifle, or not interacting with others if that's what you're trying to say about this video. It's just a video that doesn't mean that's all she does.
Hey, wake up - this video is giving FREE ADVERTISING to a product that has been PROVEN to impair children's learning.
Why? Because it limits their attention to a small screen. It stifles their thought processes because there is no time to think. It leads to educational difficulties later on in life.
Let's not allow ourselves to be distracted from the fundamental issue here. TV is to babies' minds what passive smoking is to their lungs. Not harmless, not deadly, but damaging.

that's weird.. My son has not only started to learn every farm and wild animal, but he's starting to use sign language, too. I guess studies just apply to SOME people - they're just studies. Studies also show that you're least likely to die in church ;) See I made a study of my own! You gonna follow it and meet God now :-)?
Have you thought about taking him to the zoo, or teaching him sign language on your own? Not only would that increase his exposure to the outside world and reality, and decrease his exposure to a screen, but it would also give you and your son more bonding time. That's how parents used to do it in the olden days, before the television became the cheapest babysitter.
oh heck yes! I took him to the zoo for my birthday and we're planning on taking him for HIS birthday in about a month. I actually don't let him watch any tv beside Einstein - strictly educational. No Dora or anything on tv - I don't trust it. My son loves Einstein but I hold him back from it (don't let him watch it all day). I sit with him during the times he does watch it and interact with him. I'm glad I have Eintein though for the times I'm exhausted.. I'm pregnant with twins!

That`s great! My Daughter(also named Maya) is 11 months and she loves Baby Einstein.
Btw I`ve found that most ppl who feel parents aren`t attentive enough to their children have actually never had children of their own.

I take your point. Maybe I overreacted.
But TV is bad for little babies - that's proven beyond all doubt.
Furthermore, why provide free advertising for Disney? Everyone knows they're just another evil corporation exploiting kids & parents, prosecuting file sharers etc...
But yes, Maya is cute.

Wikipedia explains what your child's doing in response to the TV in its "Baby Einstein" article - it's not learning and it's not good.
Being with you - that's when your child learns!
