This is so cute! I had a video of my niece up, but after 200,000 views and a whole lot of people who thought they knew something about children posting hurtful comments I took it down... not because I believe them, but simply because i was sick or reading the comments.

People... watch the video and appreciate that it is cute. If you think people actually care what you have to say about children then write a book or start a website, but stop spending hours on YouTube wishing someone cared.

Sadly, the American Academy of Pediatrics would not approve of what's happening here, as well intentioned as I'm sure it must have been.

They recommend that children under the age of 2 should not watch TV at all. Baby Einstein makes false claims and parents should be extremely wary of "educational" products aimed at babies.

Disney, the producers of B.E. are not interested in Maya's wellbeing - they just want your money.

This is incredibly irresponsible and bad parenting. Experts on child development say that NO child under the age of two should watch television. You are a sucker for the company's marketing. Watching "Baby Einstein" videos will not make them smarter and ironically will do harm. Turn off the television.

That`s great! My Daughter(also named Maya) is 11 months and she loves Baby Einstein.

Btw I`ve found that most ppl who feel parents aren`t attentive enough to their children have actually never had children of their own.

Our 2 month old daughter kicks her legs and gets excited whenever she sees her parents, cousins, neighbours, trees, flowers and the mobile hanging above her cot.

Sometimes she just like to sit quietly - I guess to reflect or something.

We certainly don't intend to close her mind and stifle her natural curiosity and desire to form relationships by sticking her in front of the goggle box.

that's weird.. My son has not only started to learn every farm and wild animal, but he's starting to use sign language, too. I guess studies just apply to SOME people - they're just studies. Studies also show that you're least likely to die in church ;) See I made a study of my own! You gonna follow it and meet God now :-)?

Have you thought about taking him to the zoo, or teaching him sign language on your own? Not only would that increase his exposure to the outside world and reality, and decrease his exposure to a screen, but it would also give you and your son more bonding time. That's how parents used to do it in the olden days, before the television became the cheapest babysitter.

oh heck yes! I took him to the zoo for my birthday and we're planning on taking him for HIS birthday in about a month. I actually don't let him watch any tv beside Einstein - strictly educational. No Dora or anything on tv - I don't trust it. My son loves Einstein but I hold him back from it (don't let him watch it all day). I sit with him during the times he does watch it and interact with him. I'm glad I have Eintein though for the times I'm exhausted.. I'm pregnant with twins!
