  • Hi i have a dkr cappella frame number 7741 ,iam about to start restoring it .How many of them are left ,and fully restored how much are they worth ? just as a guide to how much i will spend ,and any chance of getting a front badge

  • @mralbion100 Great to hear another will be restored! I am no longer involved with the Vintage Motor Scooter Club but they are the experts to contact for the latest info. They have a website, Just google the initials VMSC to find it. When I restored mine i only knew of two others in the UK in restored good running order. Very often the only way to find badges etc is to find another unresored scooter perhaps too far gone to restore but with a badge. I got a spare engine for mine that way.

  • Nice job...whats the colour spec ...?

  • @Bradders562 Thank you. This restoration was carried out around 1996 so sadly I no longer have details of the exact colour specification used.. I tried to match as closely as I could, the exact colour scheme of the earlier model Powder Blue DKR Defiant I owned back in the 1960s. There are some of these restored in that original colour in the Vintage Motor Scooter Club. I wonder if any of those owners can give us precise details?

  • Wow just love your scooter... the blue makes it look so much better good choice

  • @justdouth70 Thank you! Of all the British designs I think the Capella had a really up to date appearance for the 1960's! If they had that design back in the 1950's they may well have sold many more scooters and survived longer!

  • @ADMIRALSCORNER Nice one like the music too reminds me of some old film .Funny i think it looks gp esk !!! but more modern say sevenies !!! how many left ???Im sporting a indian 1978 gp but very retro with two tone cream and mushroom paintwork its all the pocket will alow but its just come out the spay shop for the second time this year! people keep running it over when parked luckily!!

  • what an ugly thing, no curves.

  • @arminask Can't say i agree with you there! But it is said Beauty is in the mind of the beholder.

  • I am told today by youtube that my original period music soundtrack is no longer acceptable, so hopefully I will be able to change it before they delete the whole video!

  • It's great to see someone's scooter restoration, nice !

  • Congratulations Mike, on achieving such a magnificent restoration, it looks superb in blue. A wonderful record and a big smile from the owner at the end !!!!...5* Bob

  • Thanks Bob. Its good to be able to look back at activities from the past!

  • Awesome Michael

  • Hmm! We have another case of the Youtube sound track missing even though a notice comes up at the start of the video whereby you can buy the music! I will leave it overnight to see the situation then!

  • Aha! Its taking 24 hours before the music gets attached! All ok now Thanks Youtube!

  • I guess you owned the blue and white DKD?

  • The red DKR Capella was purchased at an auction.of classic vehicles in 1992. In 1997 when the missing parts were found or remade It was completely stripped down to bare metal. It was then repainted in the same blue and cream colour scheme as the DKR Defiant I once oowned in 1960
