Since LunaHeartnet made a good case for the first, I'll try to make a case for the latter....Since he does have long arms and pushes her back. Also, I have heard people say "my child" in reference to other people's kids before. (Mostly older people, but he's a ghost...so yeah) Maybe that saying is a way of warning about this ghost's attack and the main character seems to be teen-ish. So I guess you could call her a child.

no, the Himuro mansion is totally made up by the creators, there's no mansion in japan with was related to a murder in a grisly way. if yes, it will be likely to be reported and recorded down in history. and till now, the mansion was not found, and no one can locate it. so it was not really based on a real story but based on ghost stories and myths.
