  • Stop defending start seeing.. He is a great singer.. BUT his voice is still pitch corrected (autotuned) in this video.. I love breaking benjamin.. but as an audio engineer i have to say that this has autotune.. not much.. but its there ://

  • I want to touch Ben's hair :D it looks so soft!

  • 2:18 wooooowwww period beautiful voice brotha

  • I Loves they drums :P

  • autotune or not... ill pay a lot of money to travel from Poland to USA just to hear him live !

  • Comment removed

  • i would die tommorow if u could see this live!!!!!!

  • Hahahaha what a coincidence, the video has 1337 likes.

  • Stop debating just listen to the music.

  • Playing the lead on an acoustic is not that easy. Much respect for making it sound good

  • This is a great recording.

  • this got edited in post production...i just watched a candid fan shot vid of this same song and compared the first verse of both versions...this one is edited sadly

  • @bjfx123 Are you retarded? This is LIVE. If you saw another video of someone filming at the same event, it is clearly not going to sound the same as they are recording with their shitty camera or phone. You don't even give reason to why you think this sounds edited in post production, which is highly unlikely considering this is live and not from a studio-release. If you will respond to this, come with some legitimate reasons insted of acting like you have a clue about what you are talking about

  • @AntiPiratez first verse "would you like THAT"...that last vowel on the fan shot vid he sings it a lot grittier and has more rasp to it which is off key and he also hits it the same EXACT way each time which is also hard to do even by the best singers...this video its too clean to be natural especially considering that his voice by this point in time was going downhill due to his health

  • @bjfx123 Link.

  • @bjfx123 no fucking shit its gonna sound raspier its recorded by a fan in the audience, i think you need to stop trying to compare something that was recorded by professionals to something that was recorded by a cell phone, so quit trying to say that this is edited because the only thing thats edited in this video are the camera shots. Nobody believes you so shut the fuck up.

  • @thegoldenzebra I believe him. The vocals have been pitch corrected by a recording software plug-in, probably Celemony Melodyne Editor. There have been other "edited" live performances, such as Three Days Grace's Live in the Palace, and Green Day's Awesome as F*ck, in which the same thing was done. You can say that I'm full of shit, but I don't care because I know I'm right. I know what a pitch corrected vocal sounds like, and this has been pitch corrected.

  • @OneManBand777 His voice sounding like a fan is in front of it is the pitch correction.

  • @OneManBand777 Live at Palace? really? i can tell in this one, but in live at palace i didn't notice

  • @OneManBand777 You are right about this (: i can hear it too.. sound exacly like the pitch corrector in my studio software.. it goes nuts every time he hit the wrong note and its ruining the song.. but i don't think you are right about awesome as fuck and live in palace... But i will agree in that green day used an equlizer to clean some of the frequencys (:.. but that does not really make a difference to be honest

  • damn they are good

  • A esta canción le hace falta una buena guitarra eléctrica... No me gusta... xP // Manita abajo... u.u

  • @js35231 cabron es q acaso no sabes leer hijode puta es acoustic .. seras un piche hijo de mil guarras ponte a escuchar la original aver si no te va a gustar puto

  • In all the other live videos that are on youtube, he can't sing well. He refuses to open his mouth all the way and so he sounds like he has a fucking speech impediment. Why can't he sing like this all the time. Damn it.

  • @naamra I bet he's probably more comfortable playing with an acoustic guitar vs. an electric.

  • @naamra Because someone used an autotune on his voice in this recording (: and because hardcore rock is easier to song in acoustic

  • @Timberwolf9324

really? o.O does it mean that i could be a good singer with chewing gum or what? :D

  • @Suckerpunchx17 it does`nt interfere))

  • @MHS325 More like, "Shame Breaking Benjamin is now a broken band". >.<

  • Me during song: "it sounds like he's gargling at some parts.....wait...is he...chewing gum? Durning..the..concert...Awesome!"

  • ถ้าจะมาเต็มขนาดนั้น อย่าเล่น acoutics เลยย 555

  • his voice sounds better here! why? :)

  • @DenizCMusic because he is awesome.:D and I like this version:D halfway between normal and acoustic:D

  • @DenizCMusic Everybody think's Ben's voice isnt that great because for the most of the Phobia tour he was recovering from a lung infection, his voice has always been good.

  • @DenizCMusic Because he chewing Stride gum :) it makes you sing better!!

  • @DenizCMusic He has a gum! :)

  • @DenizCMusic He is using an auto tuner. Its very very faint but if you listen you can hear it. I don't knock it because for a hard song like this to be acoustic it really makes it sound better.

  • @Needsahome I don't think you know how an auto tuner works, lolololol

  • @Needsahome lol, no he's not.

  • best song ever

  • It's crazy that they sound so good live

  • @Suckerpunchx17 it somehow helps us to control the voice O:

  • @aboulmorr it's Breath

  • 7 ppl did not find there place in the diary of jane

  • AMAZING FCUK VOICE

  • starting song ????

  • @aboulmorr I will not bow

  • @dba4tw

  • @aboulmorr i will not bow, from their latest album dear agony

  • What I like the most of him is that he can sing and play plucking at the same time.

  • one kid at 0:04 D:

  • Benjamin + Live + The diary of jane = BLT

  • @TheYoungOne96

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • @TheYoungOne96 LOL.

  • @TheYoungOne96 Actually, it would be a Double BLT looool. Get it a double BLT? xD

  • @RebelstarX no one gets it....

  • @TheYoungOne96 no... this > bacon letuce and tomato

  • perfeita♥

  • HOLY FUCK! THAT S THE BEST DAMN LIVE VIDEO OF BB I EVER SEEN

  • expected to find comments on how good this performance is....all i found was bunch of teens arguing over autotune........sad, so sad......

  • are you guys nuts? using autotune would spoil this song, it isnt for rock its for rap and pop shitheads...

  • @12cyberspy12 wrong... all genres of music use pitch correction

  • @12cyberspy12 I know thats why it is so sad to see autotune on a band so great as breaking benjamin.. but there is no doubt. His voice is autotuned and im not just saying this... listen close and you will hear the auto tune going nuts sometimes.. its sad cause he can sing

  • what's the name of the song in the intro ?

  • @greendaywillrock I Will Not Bow

  • @ThatAnn0yingGuy Thanks bro ! :)

  • @greendaywillrock No problem =)

  • he sings a lot better sitting down =L

  • Extasis mode activated at 2:41

  • I LUV THIS SONG!!! i like both versions of this song! i luv together again by evanescence! id luv it if both f theese bands wud do a song together!

  • You guys DO know that someones voice can get better over time right? It's not always autotune...dumb-asses

  • @jradwells I really like breaking benjamin.. but its very clear that this has been autotuned.. And that is sad cause he is a very great singer! .. you can here the notes in his voice goes nuts sometimes because of the autotune and it really makes me sad that they would do that to such a great band

  • I saw him live and he's one of the best singers I've ever seen.

  • i love this song..i love this and..i love his voice...i love EVERYTHING about breaking benjAmin!!!

  • What was the song at the beginning?

  • @tdga7xknot Breaking Benjamin - I Will Not Bow

  • Aww, you're welcome, Ben.

  • This isn't lil wayne, shut the fuck up about autotune.

  • Wow, if someone can autotune this then they should be paid big bucks, but I have seen BB live and they are amazing!

  • FUCK EVERY COMMENT BELOW THIS THAT HAS TO DO WITH AUTO TUNE BREAKING BENJAMIN ROCKS JUST ACCEPT THAT NOOBS :P!

  • his dad must of fucked a sheep 2:14

  • Ben sings so good

  • id be flattered if people thought i autotuned... fucker knows he has a great voice...

  • Retards thats not even an Autotune mic. fuckers wanna act you know music..

  • ben sings alot better sitting down and relaxed. His live performances standing up really aren't to great. Amazing band though.

  • if he uses autotune live, it doesnt matter... the songs are written perfectly and also played that way. His voice is awesome, and if you think, like me, he dont uses autotune, the give a fuck at these comments and just listen to the music...

  • excuse me for being right, but if they used autotune on his voice, you wouldnt be able to hear where he messed up, and you wouldnt be able to hear his voice shaking, and Benjamin Burnley has an amazing voice live, i have been to one of their concerts, he sounds exactly like that live, so im sorry to inform your stupid asses that your wrong. that is his voice. not a machine made voice.

  • @AmberRenee8 Dude Breaking benjamin is awesome! ... but i have to say that i hear the notes shaking in this video.. in a way that sounds very much alike autotune.. Sure he is a GREAT singer.. And thats why its so sad that someone autotuned his voice ://

  • His voice is phenominal. Seeing them live has always been a good experience for me. Whenever I go home after a show and hit the sheets I wish he could stand there and sing my drunk ass to sleep!!!!!!

  • I wish they recorded this.

  • The way he said "That" is out of tune, But this Song is Still RULES! Cause "That" Disliker is gonna pay!

  • Breaking Benjamin FTW!

  • Guys, shut up. Even auto tune can't hit notes THAT well.

  • @LaxBros4Life wrong... pitch correction makes notes PERFECT pitch. Yes they are talented, but if you truly know what pitch correction sounds like when being used then you would be able to tell this is auto tuned, read up and learn son

  • @sarovan555 You more or less noticed that I was making a joke about one of my favorite bands, and telling the people commenting to just let it go. Thanks for trolling anyway!

  • @sarovan555 I work with audio editing all day long: you're an idiot. There are no "slips." What you're hearing is a vocal style that is often used to be able to hit the notes like he hits in this song. But by all means, continue on being a daft git.

  • @LaxBros4Life yes it can? what a stupid statement.

  • @joe1820000 You are an idiot. Go troll elsewhere.

  • @LaxBros4Life im not 'trolling' im being honest realistic, i work in a studio and i know autotune when i hear it. He's barely using any really but its diffidently there. He's voice sounds very creamy and robotic at times..which isnt a very human thing haha

  • @joe1820000 I don't really care what you do for a living. I was just making a compliment about a musician. Stop taking it so seriously and take a joke. It's not autotune. Why would he need autotune in a small cafe but not use it on the album? Have you ever even heard him ACTUALLY sing? It sounds exactly like that. Stop trolling.

  • @joe1820000 Yeah. I agree.

  • i like how he could scream with the best of them but does not he sings most of the time rock on guys

  • Anyone who thinks there was no auto-tune with this can't hear very well. It's not much, but it's still there. Listen to 2:12 and a while after. I'm not saying it's not good though, because it is!

  • @DanikaJadeee i think that's more ben's slightly shaky voice, it' shasnt been perfect since his throat op... :(

  • @DanikaJadeee There is no auto-tune. If there was, his notes would show it for sure. I think your hearing what you want to hear.

  • @LJ2292 I think that would be you.

  • @DanikaJadeee I agree, the autotune is SO obvious....

  • @TeslaNick2 Thank you! Jesus, everyone else thinks it's like a crime to admit they're using it. Like I said, don't get me wrong I still like the band! There is a difference from having zero talent, and using auto-tune, and having talent and using auto-tune to help you a little.

  • @DanikaJadeee It may not have been used at the actual gig itself, but further down the line. Other posters are saying it can't be done live, of course it can, it works in real time.

The people video'ing the gig could have added it on their feed, who knows ? If Ben IS being auto-tuned live, it may not have sounded obvious at the gig, but it is on the recording...Clearly...it's as blatent as Glee ffs...

  • I've never heard a voice like his

    incredibly

in this guy, you can only fall in love *-*

i hear it again and again and again xD♥♥♥

and i can't stop it oÖ

  • I kinda wish he did the face he does when hes singing this like in the music video... when hes like "Would you like that? Would you like that?"

  • What a voice OMG !

  • good song for an amv anime fight scene

  • @nedrain23 musicians tend too chew gum while singing to keep the inside of their mouth moist.

  • Im not saying it auto tuned.. but they can auto tune on the fly dear.

"i'm baffled at those thinking this is auto-tuned. I was live at this performance and I can tell you for certain that this is how he sounded.?"

  • lol that's not acoustic, if it was there would be no drums.

  • @gracem0708 lol, acoustic = no elec stuff (not accounting bass here )

  • @gracem0708 Drums aren't normally electric. ;D

  • I'm baffled at those thinking this is auto-tuned. I was live at this performance and I can tell you for certain that this is how he sounded.

Breaking Benjamin is one of the best bands you can go to live. I've been to 5 of their concerts and every single one of them was amazing.

  • You people talking about autotune are friggin simple, this was recorded live and streamed the day of the release. You can't autotune that. I listened to it the day of the stream, this is identical. I've heard plenty of autotune, its not found here. His voice has gotten better in recent years.

  • @Epirocker Also, if it were autotuned, it would make his voice sound like shit, which it does not. :P

  • @Epirocker i agree...hes been working with a vocal coach ever since the release of the first album....you can def tell the improvement from album to album....ive seen them live 10 times and he sounds just the same from the albums to live.

  • @Epirocker They can still auto-tune live smart-ass.

  • @DanikaJadeee Although if it was auto-tuned it would sound 'robotic' when he sings at different notes/pitches. Which doesn't happen.

  • @BlakOktobure Not true at all!. I run a studio and we use it ALL the time. Everyone needs tweeking, through effects. Does not matter if it is slight auto tune on some notes or reverbs. You can correct the notes in the computer or we just sometimes run a Boss VE-20 and choose the key the song is in. As LONG as the singer is close to the correct notes and you have it set to soft, you would never know it was used. NO ONE is 100% perfect in pitch and electronics help correct the off notes.

  • @buminbeer2 While that may be true, it doesnt mean ALL studio's use it... : P

  • @BlakOktobure Sorry to be blunt, but yes all Studios that are professional, use correction measures. Remember, maybe the singer has sung the song 200 times in 4 days. We take the "best of the best" and string them together for the song. So, wrong if I spoke out of place, but very few singers will ever, I mean ever sound as good live as the studio. Voices change over time, smoking/drinking all takes it's toll. I invite you to my studio if you want to call me out :) Peace and LU...

  • @buminbeer2 I will take you on that offer. May we record something for you to prove me wrong? ;D

  • @BlakOktobure

Actually im a singer and i played a gig once where they were teaching little children how to sing and the mic had autotune on it.

I had to use the mic and obviously... you couldnt just 'turn it off'.

I sang the song and i didnt sound robotic at all.

you guys need to stop being so far up Bens arse and just take in the fucking brilliance of the song!

  • @BlakOktobure Not if you turn the auto tune down (: .. Than you will only hear the note shaking like short after 1:55 ^^ Breaking benjamin is great and the singer can sing.. its just sad that they use autotune :/

  • @Epirocker Thank you, I think people just hate to admit that he has gotten better over the years, months, etc lol

  • @Epirocker agreed

  • @Epirocker Sorry but this is obviously autotuned. I work in audio engineering. The mic is a cardioid mic with autotune effect installed inside of it. It's not a drastic autotune but it's present to make his voice sound smoother. Nothing bad about it, lots of artists use it.

  • @Epirocker Please see my response below as an answer, so YES it is tuned live or can be. Depends on the singer. For instance, listen to creed on youtube live versus the studio. He does not use auto tuning in concert (sad) as he does on albums. Sapp uses back ground members to even hit the high notes live. Point is, it CAN be used LIVE and works well like in my studio. I record some singers "live" though slight auto tune set on soft, you would never know it. Talk to me when you are professional!

  • @Epirocker

Look... I LOVE Breaking Benjamin but the Microphone is autotuned!

Its probably because he smokes so much his voice is fucked! lol

I'v seen many people use autotune live.

    Either way, Its still awesome!

  • @FiveDaysTime he really isnt auto tuned.. 1 thats not an auto tuner mic. 2 you would hear the static vocal voice when he screams or growls in the other videos.

  • @6PMClan Dude.. you know that you can autotune any mic right ?? he is a great singer.. its just very sad to hear the autotune go nuts every time he misses the tone a bit :// im not trying to make bad comment about Breaking benjamin.. I LOVE BREAKING BENJAMIN

  • @Epirocker With all due respect friend, I'm not wanting to argue but he is doing. Now that does not mean he cannot sing, it just means that in post ed (or during streamed show) there was an effect added to his vocal part. If it is used, one the things that cannot be avoided on live recordings with sound spill (mainly from drums), is a wobble effect on the vocal part as the effects processor is trying to pitch so many different frequencies :) breaking benjamin is still a good band.

  • @Epirocker you realize he just recovered from a severe lung infection from an immune system diease... i happy they put on autotune but he still sounds alright without it

  • @Epirocker

I don't think they are using auto-tune but there is a mike that you can use to auto-tune live performances.

  • @JaredClarkson06 Auto-tune can be used during a live performance (see Attack Attack! for proof), although pitch correction is a post production effect. But I don't think he's using auto-tune here.

  • @wecameasbromans22

Ya you can hear slight "imperfections" in his voice so it is ridiculous to even suggest they're using it. I was thinking of a band like Abandon All Ships where they have it in live performances

  • @Epirocker you can have auto tune right into any mic lol just saying but it does not sound like he is useing it tho

  • @Epirocker ...you can plug a mic into a vocoder or laptop then run it to the speakers with pitch correction (auto tune) attached to it... i agree though he can sing..but if you listin you can hear the little slips and jumps in the notes that only pitch correction does..

  • I am a HUGE Breaking Benjamin fan. I know I'll get hate, but I KNOW I hear auto-tune on his voice. So don't put down the people who are also noticing it. I've worked with it, I know what it sounds like. Not bashin Ben for it at ALL. I fucking love Ben, but he's got a messed up voice probably in this video from all the lung problems and smoking and I think it's alright every once on a while to get a hand.

  • @BlackDisposition11

well hes been smoking for like 20 years

  • AWESOME !

  • I really like the acoustic versions because the clarity is even better than the regulars. you can hear all the layers in the music better.

  • 2:46 , looks like he's having sex with his guitar

  • OMG he sound just like the actual song . that means there is no editing . OMG WOW JUST FUCKING WOW

  • @mrstarwarsdbz well to the rock world! no auto tune or bullshits like that. ITS PURE SKILL & TALENT. thats what you need to be able to ROCK :D

  • A M A Z I N G !

  • the face is similar Jim Carry!!

  • @ROCK7AND8 you know nothing

  • wow they rock hard, sitting down.

  • Definitely getting into their stuff, some of their acoustic is awesome live.

<3 Tool though .. Maynard is king! .. love his voice acoustic/live/studio

tool, a perfect circle, puscfier, etc++++

  • One of my favourite songs ♥

  • i have hurd better acustics covered not really much of a change form the orginal song

    And so is his voice!

  • SOFTER VERSION!

  • Nice autotune lol
