This is not Beer it's a Japanese brand of primarily tea-based soft drinks for children. This drink is infused with vitamins and marketed for their health benefits.
Of course, Ramune. They sell it at anime conventions for like $5 a pop, and the idiot otaku still waste all their money on it x.x ah, capitalism and weeaboos.
Westerners laugh at this, but as someone who has lived in an Asian country and saw little kids drinking REAL beer all the time, I can see the logic behind it .
Oh, come on, everyone! It's a TV ad made by Japanese, for Japanese. As if we gaijin would be able to understand!
Well, the idea of the advert is that kids should enjoy a drink with their parents and relatives. So in a way this is a very pro-family TV ad. And "socially respoonsible", to use a Western term.
And what is wrong with enjoying a beer at the table? It is up to the parents and only the parents to ensure that kids do not drink alcohol until they are old enough.
You're right, it's not bear. And it's not beer either. But it's a good idea, because a lot of kids drink real beer, and this would make a safer alternative.
Yeah because underage drinkers are really going to drink a non alcoholic beverage just because a 'child safe version' is introduced to them.
It's like giving your kids fake cigs, just to get them to stop smoking -real- cigs when no it won't really stop the problem at all. Why? BECAUSE THE PARENTS AREN'T STOPPING THE PROBLEM.
The "harsh truth" being it doesn't taste like apple soda, Emetris. I think beer tastes pretty crap, actually, so it certainly was a harsh truth for me :D. I guess it's subjective.
There's a disclaimer at the end that says "Not alcohol." I'm sure the kids would love to join the adults in their (daily) drinking festivities. BTW, it's by the same company that produces Ramune.
You're right. That's not Ramune. I just bought some today. You can find it at most Suncoast stores. I had never seen it before and so when I bought it, it took me forever to understand how to open the damn bottle. Hahaha!
I actually found this stuff at a local Japanese store Mitsuwa. When you walked into the store this video was playing. The expression on my face was too funny! Then I looked at the bottle where it said APPLE SODA!
This is the equivalent to America's root beer, so stop getting worked up.

Actually for those who don't know it was created for children that wanted to be a part of adult festivities without the hangover.

Oh, yeah, and "kodomo no nomimono" means the drink of children. Not a good way to curbing underaged consumption, I don't think.
