One of the great things about this game is the scarcity of the save-points. From what I recall, you had to wait inordinate amounts of time before saving next. Modern games allow you to save, more or less, whenever you want, and that kills the tension. Without the fear of dying and the knowledge that you will be forced to play a large section of the game again, that tension evaporates. TR2 allowed you to save anywhere and thus I had no fear about losing any fights or failing to make a jump.

Nathan Drake, Kratos, Altair, Dante, Jill Valentine, Duke Nukem, Ryu, Sonic, Mario, Elena Fisher, Samus, Spiderman, Megaman, Naruto, Sackboy etc. I don't care for Dante and Naruto at all. I think anything is better than them. I think Sackboy and Goomba are better than them.
I loved the huge environments in this game, and how UNREALISTIC Lara was. Shame that games are "believable" and "realistic". The characters nowadays have pimples, scars, they're weak, and they can only jump as high as a human. Lara on the other hand, she has NO blemishes, she can pull huge 2,000 lb stone cubes, and she can jump so high and far, it's like she's flying!

People literally grew up playing as Lara and over the years thats created a long lasting legacy. @flamesdemon19 Okay first of all Uncharted Drake's Fortune is nothing like what you said, there are only anout 3 parts in the game where you have to press a button during some scene, the rest of the game your shooting, climbing, and solving puzzles. And Uncharted 2 has only a few times when you have to press a button during some scenes and only a few automated stuff, pretty much the etire game is spent shooting, climbing, and solving puzzles (although the puzzles in the second arent as good)

I love this game!!! but I also hate it to cause it's it's so dang hard! Has anyone ever beaten this game without cheating? I sure havn't lol. I put in all the gun codes and looked at the walkthrough. This game gave me a big headache but I loved it's difficulty.
This game is just 100 times better than Anniversary simply because it is the classic game and has a more classic Lara feel to it, it's hard to imagine if you haven't played Tomb Raider since 1996

Loved the feeling of desolation and mystery that this game's levels had, it seems like the newer games don't capture that same atmosphere.

Game play doesn't look any different from the latest tomb raider... At least the game play didn't get worse for the change in graphics like most other games.

@RikuTani who cares, the game was amazing, the storylines were fabulous, it was original, the moves were awesome, lara croft was stunning. now look at it.... underworld was terrible

001freestyle - yes it was released on the saturn first. I used to have a saturn and got the original tombraider about a week after it was released - I should have kept the game and the saturn because of the history tombraider has made but I`m sorry I got rid of both years ago.

Its my All time Fave, I remember Playing this When i was Super Little, But the creepy Music that always came on when Something was Gonna happen Scared me lol Soo my Mom Played it instead, so Whenever my Mom plays now I sit there and Watch, now that Im older I can Help her XD

Ahh...Tomb Raider...It is an awesome game....I just dont see why ppl are dising it...I mean the first game was the best in my book it was harder then the rest...though i do enjoy playing the newer Tomb Raiders...Nothing can beat the 1996 classic... My goal is to get all of the for ps2 but so far I have 3 of them...

I love this game!!! but I also hate it to cause it's it's so dang hard! Has anyone ever beaten this game without cheating? I sure havn't lol. I put in all the gun codes and looked at the walkthrough. This game gave me a big headache but I loved it's difficulty.

This is the same as Deathtrap Dungeon, except in Tomb Raider, all you do is run around.
Deathtrap Dungeon has more Action, and fantasy, so I prefer Deathtrap, Tomb Raider looks a bit Boring.

This game is just 100 times better than Anniversary simply because it is the classic game and has a more classic Lara feel to it, it's hard to imagine if you haven't played Tomb Raider since 1996
