  • Beck's Bolero

    Rice pudding

    Goodbye porkpie hat

    Cause we've ended as lovers

    heart full of soul

    listing songs isnt doing anything.

my point is people think zeppelin is famous because of page, i think page is famous because of zeppelin. Also page on most of his early work was straight up ripping off licks, riffs, and lyrics of other artists like muddy waters, willie dixon, and so on. Same could easily be said for clapton. Jeff went his own way and if he gets any recognition its his, not some bands.

  • *whispers* dude the bassist is black gheghe ;p

  • The closer you can get a guitar to sounding like a human voice the better. Fuckin master!

  • D: 1:40

  • Does this song have a name?

  • @Saebeck32 "What Mama Said"

  • @NateWTaylor Ha! Now is see the title in white letters at the beginning! duh!! Thanks

  • I don't see how he is any better than page

  • @TheUnicornslayer his version of a day in the life. youre welcome.

  • @PANICBLADE achilles last stand

  • @Frobe1357 whats that supposed to mean? you think i havent heard that or something? also:

    Eternitys breath

    Led boots

    freeway jam

    blue wind

    head for backstage pass

    cover of goin down

    hammerhead

    behind the veil

Page and clapton also admit they arent as good as he is. Page is awesome sure but hes no JEFF BECK

  • @PANICBLADE dont get me wrong I love becks guitar work, I just think page is the more influential & important. And if we're at this game then:

    Dazed & confused

    Stairway to heaven

    Heartbreaker

    Whole Lotta Love

    Since I've been loving you

    Black mountain side

    The lemon song

    The song remains the same

    Good times bad times

  • @Frobe1357 im not trying to be hostile or anything nor am i trying to be pretentious. listing songs was dumb and i shouldnt have started it in the first place. agree to disagree

  • @PANICBLADE couldn't have put it better myself, plus we're comparing two completely different guitarists. jazz-fusion to hard rock blues

  • It's alright I guess

  • And remember everyone, fast guitar playing does not necessarily mean good guitar playing. Wail on, Jeff Beck.

  • The world has a wealth of brilliant guitarists so i can't say who is the best i try to like them all equaly for themselves, they all have something unique to offer, just enjoy that uniqueness and don't compare.

  • Je viens d'écouter "Led Boots" with Jennifer Batten, live. They play very good. Mais il y a 35 as. j'avais besoin de ce genre de "rebelle". Nobody more had the feedback so perfect controlled. But it was 35 y. ago. Excuse me, but now I also desire young music. When he recorded this music, he was 32. In 2008, 64 years. I find, that is very good for the young people, who not yet him know. But I would not buy another record with this interpretation. Unless a young boy or girl ask me about a guitarp

  • anyone who says Beck or Eric Johnson or John McLaughlin is not as good as Satch or Vai or Van Halen needs to learn music history and get some help...each one of those three would tell you there is no them w/o the former three i mentioned..its like saying Satch is better than jimmy page.really? would there even be a Satch w/o page(i like each six of those more than page though, but you have to give respect to the innovators)..like V.Halens tapping thing really came from Steve Hackett,so learn 1st

  • @cykoaudio777 mclaughlin is a noodler

  • jeff's always got a genius girl on strings with his band

  • Jennifer is awsome guitaris, and SHE HAS BOOBS!

  • Jeff Beck. Kinda crappy? Well I guess there is a critic for everyone. What I have heard from Jeff Beck is on higher levels than any other guitarists I heard. I've seen few with so much technical skill combined with such emotional play.

  • @Mattw8675

SRV is #1, Satch should be higher on the list definately infront of Van Halen.

  • 2:30. Expecting a flood. He has his high waters on. Is the blonde a dude or chick?

  • Beck strangles the electric mongoose and music comes out

  • Beck rocks and so does Jennifer!

  • Did you know, that Jeff Beck was the only guitar player, whom Jimmy Hendrix said to be his inspiration?

  • 1. Jimi Hendrix* - Jimi Hendrix Experience 2. Eric Clapton - Yardbirds, Cream, Derek & The Dominos, Solo 3. Jimmy Page - Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, The Firm 4. Jeff Beck - Yardbirds, Jeff Beck Group, Solo 5. Eddie Van Halen - Van Halen 6. Stevie Ray Vaughan* - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble 7. Joe Satriani - Solo 8. Ritchie Blackmore - Rainbow, Deep Purple, Blackmores Night 9. Steve Vai - David Lee Roth, Whitesnake, Solo 10. David Gilmour - Pink Floyd, Solo
  • Joe Perry is a frikkin stiff, dont be so lame/stupid...Go back under your rock, btw, Brad Whitford was the one that could play, Joe was just a front-ass

  • Joe Perry is a frikkin stiff, dont be so lame/stupid...Go back under your rock

  • BUCKETHEAD,PRIMUS, WHATEVER, COME ON DUDES, THIS IS BECKHISTORY ALWAYS, GET IT TOGETHER

  • kinda crappy. a friend raves about jeff. he's about a 7 at best

  • @paulorton62 im guessing youre friend plays guitar and you probably dont. i dont mean that in an offensive way jeff becks amazingness alot of times shows in the little details and the unorthodox way he makes aesthetically sounding riffs. and hes a beast haha

  • @rueski i've played since 1963,guitar, mandolin piano little fiddle har monica.m thats all for now.it's nice to communcate with someone with a little cadd. that thing about rory gallager just kind of blew up. i tried to make it right. that failed so fuck rk!!! and whoever else. i could go on and on. play bluegrass , country, beetle stuff, toby kieth, tony rice, albert lee.i play

  • kinda crappy

  • 80's metal guitarist + 90's hip-hop bassist.. sick wardrobe combo haha

  • This group is tight!

  • Damn this is sick!!!

  • Dude, the bassist is freakin' insane. . .

  • fuck!!! hands!!!! not pick very cool

  • fock!!! hands!!!! not pick very cool

  • Jennifer Batten la mejor quitarrista.

  • who was the woman in the beginning?

  • @XxRockerBoy13 Jennifer Batten . . . just like the caption says at the beginning.

  • personally, im more impressed with the bass player. Not saying i can do any better.

  • who was the first guy?

  • Jeff Beck solo???

  • Jeff comping picking pattern in this is rediculous!

  • this was uploaded in my birthday!!haha

  • excelente jeff !!

  • he's pretty damn good

Not the best ever, but he's up there

  • The thing about Jeff Beck to me is that you never know where he's gonna come from. If Jimmy Page plays tangents within a framework, then Jeff Beck pulls tangents out of his ass!

  • Sooo over hyped this guy like Pfff

  • @lantyboy you best be trollin

  • @sarpnasty No -_- im not trollin lol wtf is trollin??

  • @lantyboy Lol, you're just plain stupid for saying that.

  • @darkedgekilla Zzzzzzzzz

  • This is really the first time I've ever watched/heard jeff beck. I can honestly say that this is the first time that I have been completely awe-struck in a LONG time. That was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I've never seen such wonderful guitar playing, I'm gonna go buy his albums.

  • bassist is fukin incredible

  • sooooooooooooooo cool

  • FINGER-STLYE - mark knopfler, lindsey buckingham

jeff rocks but he's got that little twist of british he can't

shake that pulls on his soulfulness when he digs into blues

  • Cor!! He's amazing!!

  • This sounds sexy.... Love the bass.. and the guitar playing

  • Jeff will always be Jeff.

  • I have his signature SD pickup: the JB

  • @Ibanezguy123456789 Seymour Duncan JB stands for Jazz-Blues. Why would he have a signature humbucker when for the last decade he has predominantly played strats.

  • song?

  • wake me when its over this shit sucks

  • They all grew up listening to Jeff Beck!!!!

  • sounds a littlelike primus

  • @fable0709, The guitarplayer at Dirty Diana was Steve Stevens

  • bad ass bass lines! who's the bassist??

  • Randy Hope-Taylor is the bass player. Used to play with Incognito, he's really good.

  • Indeed it is, she played on his Bad, Dangerous and History tours.

  • ne1 no the name of the woman/man is doin the solo at the begining?

jeff beck is the guitaring god!!!!

  • It's Jennifer Batten

  • @ethanboi123 Jennifer Batten, she used to play for MJ.

  • Vinnie Vincent is influenced by this guy Beck rule man!

  • if Buckethead did not dress up like an idiot it would be easier to take him serious

  • rofl ya

  • When you will know play as him you can speak

  • @1812Tecumseh i agree

  • you do know Buckethead had a very messed up childhood right? That's why he wears mask. He's not jsut dressing up "like an idiot" theres a reason. you sir are the idiot

  • @1812Tecumseh You may not be able to take his persona seriously, but his guitar playing is unbelivable. He his one of the most versatile guitarists in history.

  • @1812Tecumseh man, buckethead is a very talented musician,he's not just a shredder..he has soul and his songs are really good..if you just look a the mask YOU are the idiot..he doesn't play because he wants to be famous or rich,he just wants to touch us with his music..so listen to him and shut the f*ck up!

  • @billtrantos19

To be fair, appearance does matter to most :S

  • @billtrantos19 horseshit

  • @1812Tecumseh who cares what he puts on his head..hes a great guiturist ..look at 80s hair..a bucket looks better..

  • @1812Tecumseh u dont know shit about him to judge him

  • @rueski i agree

  • @rueski i know a thing or two about your sister

  • @1812Tecumseh since when is music about how you look and what you wear?

Interviewer:How do you feel about people knowing your true identity?

Buckethead: I'd rather it not happen. I'd rather just play and let people judge that, that's what's important.

  • @MrBrokoli99 i agree

  • @1812Tecumseh I like to think of Buckethead as proof that the guitar playing/music is what matters and not so much the image. But yeah, you're probably right. It's probably as to avoid press and the likes. MAYBE IT WAS A DARE!!!!

  • @1812Tecumseh

he's extremely shy which is why he disguises himself. he told me

  • @1812Tecumseh i dont think the costume makes anyone less or more serious

  • its not about technicality people its all about phrasing. the musical world revolves around phrasing,

  • sounds a bit latin-ish

  • even John Lennon need the guitar picks....to me, he are no. 2 after JImmy Page....Ahak's...

  • With due respect to an all time Guitar Great , frankly this is a bit dissapointing !

  • who has a stupider looking wig? Beck or Batten? And there's very about this "song" that's impressive--Jeff's great but there's NOTHING he played that was impressive...

  • Beck is GOD indeed, theres not many guitarists who can rival him.

  • a very lot of guitarist can rival him !

  • LOL

  • music is not a competition, music is about unity you fucking wanker

  • idk if you knew this but in an interview from I guess the year 2000 yngwie literally said that exact same quote, minus the wanker part. They asked him what he thought about ppl saying he was the fastest on earth or something and he said "he's flattered but its not a competition, he does his thing and they do theirs". Ontop of that i saw on his site he really doesnt like flattery at all... its like he doesnt like when ppl say he's a god...

  • yea i was just messing around with the wanker part. and it's always important to be humble

  • @badazzpresidents23 a little bit of both

  • @badazzpresidents23 thaaaaaaank you! im so glad im not the only one that sees the same way as you do

  • @badazzpresidents23 "It's about unity you fucking wanker" Lmao That is what you call classic.

  • @badazzpresidents23 how would you know?

  • @badazzpresidents23 Well, mainstream music nowadays is nothing but competition.

  • @BasementBeginnings Music was competitive in the 60's and 70's as well. The difference is that people used to be competitive about creating a better song rather than creating a song that would sell more copies.

  • @sneekman Exactly. It wasn't about making money, it was about sending a message.

  • let's be honest, this isn't that good.

  • show me that you can do it better! ;)

    this is awesome.

  • no im sure he's a good guitarist, that's why i searched him, but tbh i find this abit boring, not having a dig to be a dick, but's nothing special.

  • as a bass player i got to say the bass playing here is equally awesome as jeffs solo :D

  • who is the girl guitarist at the beginning, she also played with micheal jackson in his live at budapest show

  • Jennifer Batten !

  • Comment removed

  • beck barsdale i think i know she tour with mj

  • sound like shit !

  • Let's not talk favorites or best without mentioning Donald Buck Dharma....the best for me at least...BOC.

  • im am just gonna wing this out there but mark knopfler of dire straits is insane. Im not saying he was the best but he is the only guy that has wrote a song that made me cry while still making me want to go party at the same time.

  • Jimmy Page is by far the most influential to any style of rock...he played a lot of rock and im not saying he totally invented rock guitar but he sure did revolutionize it...he also played a lot of blues and soft music but hard rock was his best area no doubt...does page have the most talent? no...did he work with zep to have the best musical ideas? defiantly and guys...dont ever compare guitarist like buckethead and malmsteen to page and beck...thats just stupid

  • Hey if someone has a link to Jeff Beck and Ani Difranco's version of Rollin and tumblin clue me in please.

    thx

  • True most influential and best are a matter of opinion for me my favorite is Joe Perry but i think the best is Jimmy Page

  • Jeff Beck is awesome but i think there are a couple guitarists better than him for instance Jimmy Page,Joe Perry,Yngwie Malsteen,Jimi Hendrix but Jeff Beck was a huge on influence on many bands including Aerosmith,The Police, and The Joe Perry Project

  • how can you not?

  • well, all he does is shred and doesn't really have much rhytm or soul or anything...

  • if you say all he does is shred and has no rhythm or soul you probably havent listend to any of his music. dont get me wrong he aint my favorite but hes definetly one of the greatest guitarists to walk the earth besides i prefer Jimi Hendrix And Joe Perry

  • so what's a good song where he doesn't just shred for 3 min?

  • Rising Force,Seventh Sign,Never Die,He Covered Purple Haze,Mr Crowley(w/Tim Owens),Diciples Of Hell Always One,Bad Blood, Dragon Fly And Dream On(w/Ronnie James Dio) You See Where Im Getting At? Yngwie isnt just some mindless shredder like Buckethead, but his speed is probably the the thing most people notice more

  • Buckethead is a mindless shredder?

Are you retarded? He has more emotion than anyone.

  • I would have to say Joe Perry is better than Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, and Jimi Hendrix. He was a more percise player than Hendrix or Page, and Joe Perry, while definatly good, is outclassed by every guitar player you mentioned. Malsteem plays a completely different style though so it's hard to compare them.

  • Yeah Joe Perry is my favorite but i think Page has a little more influence on British bands than Perry same goes for Hendrix, about Malmsteem he plays Metal while Joe Perry plays Blues influenced Hard Rock

  • Joe Perry is no doubt influential. Most 80's hard rock and metal would not exist without his work with Aerosmith. However, I think on a technical skill basis and as an artist, Beck trumps almost every other guitar player alive.

Malmsteem plays metal, but all with classical arpeggios. He's wicked good, but not as much of an artist as Beck here.

  • True even though Joe Perry is my favorite and Aerosmith is my favorite band but there are a number of guitarist better than Perry but hes up there as for most influential i think its Jimmy Page

  • Don't get me wrong, I love Aerosmith...i'm actually going to see their show with ZZ Top this summer.

As for most influential guitar player, as of right now, I have to say maybe Chuck Berry. The man pretty much invented rock guitar. (That's just who I am thinking right now.)

  • i dont know i cant really say no because i havent really wanted to listen to chuck berry, i just wasnt "hooked" with his music

im also going to to see Aerosmith & ZZ Top when they come to california

  • Chuck is just really, really influential to rock guitar. He is far from the best. The most influential GUITAR player is impossible to say, because the guitar is such a versitile instrument.

Aerosmith and ZZ Top is going to be rad. I can't wait.

  • best of british

  • I still remember the tour for Who Else. I splurged and bought myself front row at the Chicago Theater. Friggin loud. To watch up close was amazing. He's the guitarist's guitarist.

  • I have to disagree...seeing as how he doesn't use picks EVER im sure it just video quality thats got you hearing wrong

  • your fuckin stupid jeff beck is amazing

  • jeff beck is probably one of the greatest guitarists of all time, i can't believe that you think he sucks. >:(

  • Ah, This Was Too Cool!

    ^_^

  • Freaking Awesome. JB gets better and better

as he ages. What a cool example of craftmanship

and technique for all of us guitarists out there.

He's stylistic, tasteful, unique, crafty, but most

of all he speaks guitar from the soul.

  • Where do these idiots come from?

We've heard enough from the Philistines!

JB just ripped it up! This tune is a perfect vehicle for Jeff's virtuosity to shine!

    Amazing guitar--most original player ever.

    None better . . .

  • Great video and playing,...I'm just ignoring the the useless back-and-forth by the previous posters. Please, can we let it go folks ? Thanks.

  • love his style.

  • he isn't THE greatest guitarist, he is one of the best guitarist

  • I am player. A fan of many. Your comment just shows that you need to learn more. Really. A lot more. Really. If you have a guitar and you have done more than hung a shirt on it, you should al least give the fans the benefit of the doubt. Like the guy who watches a fight and comments on it but has never been hit. Research.

  • I am a player and a fan of many, I have a guitar and I play it, I gave the fans the benefit of the doubt, then I researched his works and finally decided to leave my comment on a video to see if someone could enlighten me. No one has yet...

  • You didn't deserve their time. That's why nobody got back to you. Saw your vid. Gave YOU the benefit of the doubt. Glad you think so highly of yourself and not so highly of Jeff beck. Don't quit your day job.

  • You seem like a hurt little kid who just got his favorite superhero "insulted" (not EVEN insulted) and don't know how to cope with it but to insult the other. I don't think so highly of myself, never have I said that. And so what if I don't think highly of Jeff Beck? Does that give you the right to insult me? He's a good guitarist, yes, just not regarded so high in my book.

  • You seem to need a reaction in order to survive being stuck in your life. You're just one of those people that say something carefully devised that if anybody says anything against it you can use it against them. You are a poser, because even though you have an instrument and can play doesn't mean anything if you make worthless meaningless comments to anger other persons for your pleasure.

  • Why does everyone want conflict? You don't even know me and you call me a poser, isn't this supposed to be about Jeff Beck?

  • Please learn how to cope with your emotions, and try to let them out in a more healthy manor...

I love playing guitar and have many heroes in that sense, so here are who I was comparing Beck to if it helps: Santana, SRV, Slash, Hendrix, Synyster Gates, Buckethead, and others.

    I'm sorry I don't share your opinions.

(post was too long for 1 comment :P)

  • OK. Here you go.... I am more rational now and less combative. The guys you referenced are great. Why you don't appreciate or place Beck in that same league is understandible...but you will get there...I can asssure you. Just listen. No judjements. I'm not saying any more. Peace. Forget that my kicking your ass thing. BTW.

  • Thank you. :) I'll give him another try. I actually have been more, I'll say he has a very interesting style. His finger picking is amazing.

I didn't read the comment you removed, so it's okay.

    Peace.

  • isnt that the girl who played with michael jackson on his live in turkey dvd

  • yes it is

  • Fantastic.

  • god

    beck is a fucking legend

  • Saw him with SRV at Madison Square Garden a long time ago. Unreal.

  • good solo
