The Sebo needs a cosmetic redesign. Looks like it came from 1983. But of course it's the performance that counts. Is it better than a Miele Jazz? ($550)
@TurboFuss1 The Sebo is based on a 1970's commercial upright design. It works perfectly - why bother with resdesigning when a nice, classic, simple design has prove to be efficient and reliable?
@fiddleydiddley You can find sebo`s only in Hotels if you are in germany We got a sebo to and I think that that miele does a much better job if you got it with an electro brush
@fiddleydiddley I have noticed lately some increased interest in Sebo's in the states - especially amongst collectors and enthusiasts. Very pleased, as IMO, they're the best upright on the market, aside from Kirby of course
I love my Sebo upright, too be Honest i live in a 9 bed room house & we had our Sebo for 3 years now and never needed any think replaced or fixed... Also i should remine yous my house has deep carpet in all nine bed rooms and both the lounge rooms
@GayBoyRunning I couldn't agree more. My house is, well, a bit smaller than yours by the sounds of it, especially since I moved out of my parents house, but I have a long haired tabby cat and thick carpets. The Sebo is the only thing I've found that cleans to an acceptable level. The bagless machine I had before it was hopeless!
The sebos are nice, but they are horribly overpriced in the US (about $700-$800), and the prices and availability are tightly controlled to prevent skirting that.
A prochem PV12 (the route I went) is the same vacuum as far as I know, and can be gotten for half that. It's just in ugly colors and without a retail location.
In all honesty, of all the Sebo owners I know, including myself and close friends, I have never ever heard of this problem. I empty the Sebo bag when it says to empty it and by that time it's usually got dusting reaching up the hose. What the heck are you vacuuming up? Wet cement?
Ooohhh the actual BAG broke? Ah, well thats just a case of letting the bag get too full. When you can start to feel the dust getting to the top of the bag, thats when you need to empty it. When it's a few CM away from the top of the bag opening
LOL, well I'm online now hehe. I've never head of the bag holder snapping. I've just taken a gander at mine, and don't see how it happened. Mine is very sturdy as it is connected to the bag door handle which is made of very tough plastic and the whole thing holds together really well.
I disagree. there is far less to go wrong on a Sebo than there are on many other machines in the same price range. The Sebo uses a commercial design, first manufactured in the 1970's, and it hasn't changed much since. They're also widely accepted as being one of the most reliable brands on the market. There is no other vacuum manufacturer out there that guarantee's even the belt for the life of the machine
sounds like you got a bit too rough with the bag. I don't know anyone who has had that problem. Try emptying the bag more often, if it's getting too heavy. In all fairness though, mine usually has crap blocking the end of the hose by the time I change the bag and I've never had that problem.
Yes, it is a loft room. Although, it's all been changed around since that video. The price of the Electrolux is nicer, but it's performance isn't great in comparison with the Sebo. And the tools on the sebo are much better, as is the brushroll. But the lux isn't bad for the price
I have an X1.1 and a Powerlite too. Although the Powerlite is slightly quieter it doesn't feel as good as the Sebo and the X model is a darn sight easier to clean out with a protected belt on the brush bar. With the Powerlite you have to remove screws and then stress with the tension of the belt onto the bar. Why aren't other brands like Sebo moving the game on when it comes to drive belts?
I find that the powerlite is louder than the X4 and much flimsier in design - but for the price, you can't go wrong. My Mum likes the powerlite because it does a pretty good job and is very lightweight to use.
It's all a matter of opinion really. Personally, I don't like Oreck. They have a really good brush roll but abysmal suction power, are way to over priced for what they are and are stupidly loud. Yes, they are very lightweight but this is sacrificed in that the fan on the motor is tiny so very little suction is generated. Great for a quick cleanup, but hopeless at deep cleaning. Sebo all the way for me!
have not seen that Electrolux before, now the real ones are called Aerus because Eureka bought the name from them and sold pos vacuums with Electrolux name on it :( I did look at the X4 (as well as the new S7 uprights from Miele) before buying my Riccar Radiance very impressive unit indeed :D
I had to empty the bags on both machines after this cos they made my house smell like breakfast...newspaper, cereal and coffee. Some people are such messy eaters!

Cool video, ty for sharing. The Electrolux seems a nice vacuum for the money. BTW is this a loft room?

Great vid! The Lux's aren't bad for the price, are they? Just noisy and with a flimsy useless hose. I'd like to try a Sebo, they look the business.

They really are fantastic. Nothing I've used in the last 5 years cleans as well as the Sebo.
