@butchmedic I do agree with you but I think the volt is great for people who travel occasionally because at thus point in time there are not many electric fueling stations but I hope to soon see family's with two cars one like. The leaf for everyday driving and one like the volt for the occassional trip because once your at your destination you can charge again but just like it took diesel quite a while to pop up in our gas stations I think well soon see more and more electric charging stations
I support America by not buying a car that requires gas for its range extender. Exporting our dollars for oil is crippling America on a daily basis. US car manufactures have successfully exported taxpaying jobs since NAFTA was implemented with their lobbying (not very American). Now US car manufactures are lobbying to stop electric cars in th US. The Tennessee manufactured Leaf provides American revenue and it is a great USA car.
Nissan Leaf is soon to be made in the USA providing Tennessee e
@Butchmedic Test drove the Leaf and loved it. Did you get the DC fast charger option on yours? Nissan CEO said they spent $6B so far on electric car and battery design. Nissan expects to sell 1.5M EVs by 2015. I'm anxious to see the Mitsubishi iMiev. It might be a bit more affordable than the Leaf.
I think there is no need for charging stations. Automobile Manufacturers have discovered how to build an Electric Car that charges itself while you drive.
I imagain the oil companies are drulling because electricity will be cheaper to make then drilling oil. So they will control electricity like gasoline and charge super high rates to charge your car and the government makes you pay a milage tax. A new road of revenue to drive a golf cart to work. When I see those chargers I think hmmm If I was a teenager I would put bubble gum in the holes for the sheer fun of seeing some fat slob cry.
