several A-10's came back to base during the gulf war so heavily damaged its nothing short of amazing they made it back at all. Hogs are just that; they get in, take hits, dish out hell on earth, then make it back to be repaired and do again the next day. A10's love to get down and dirty!

@clintonearlwalker yes, the F-15 was able to fly, but like they figured out he was flying fast enough and was like a rocket, you don't need wings going that fast. A-10s are fast, but compared to a fighter, they are slow. I don't know if an A-10 would be able to fly fast enough to do that.

Any 2 engine plane can fly with 1 engine and a plane with 4 can fly with 2 or 3. But warthogs are ground attack, meaning they fly at low altitudes, don't know about flying with 1 wing, but they were designed to take multiple punishing AA hits and SAMs and still fly thanks to some pretty thick and heavy armor.
