congrats to you. I had not checked in in a while. I've been dealing with the same issues, though not on thyroid meds yet but the metformin for the pcos for a few years now. I too am now pregnant and due in April. Thanks for making this video because I always wonder why I've had to cut my ends so much and deal with the same issues. Good luck and many blessings.
@Lovingthenaturalme Thank you so much for your help. I will find a new gynecologist. Sorry that you weren't able to conceive a child yet, but everything will work out for you in God's time, Amen. I will keep you posted on new doctor, thank you.
Hi, Im new to this page but I want to ask you a couple questions. I'm 21years old and I was diagnosed with PCOS about three years. And since then my doctor has said anything to me so I just stopped go. My fiance and I have trying to get pregnant and its not happening. Was there some medicine they prescribed you for PCOS that helped you get pregnant? Also, my hair is always dry by the end of the day after putting oils and moisture. What would you suggest?
@03AMS10 I know you weren't asking me but hopefully I can help. You need to find a new gynecologist and get a referral to an endocrinologist if they aren't experienced in treating PCOS. A Reproductive Endocrinologist is best. Do it as soon as possible. The longer you go untreated, the worse the PCOS gets, and the less likely you are to conceive. I've been fighting it for 20+ years and have never been pregnant. Congratulations on your engagement and I wish you all the best!
yes im on medicine for my hypothroidism and on bc to control my pcos too. I had a bald spot and damage to certain spots on my scalp from it but now being on levothroxine my hair grows all over, is healthy, and all that. I've been so frustrated with it b4 that i cut it off, but it resulted in me going natural so i cant regret that too much lol! It just feels like an ongoing battle sometimes, but keep your head up and it'll all fall into place. good luck and god bless, love the videos!
I truly understand what you are talking about. I have Sjogren's Syndrom and for years I went undiagnosed having dry hair, skin, eyes and throat. Don't worry, once the baby's born your hair may change.
Despite the fact that I'm a guy, I sort of know what you're going through hair and body wise. I suffer from fluentig weight which I just been able to maintain, it use to cost my hair to break severly. Now I just find out I have crohn's disease which now affects the way I workout and the stress that comes along with it is not good for the hair. I've been trying to stay stess free as possibe while keeping up with my hair regimine.
I have had hyperthyroidism for about 6 years now and it is the opposite of what u have. It only occurs in less than 1% of people so imagine how devastated i was. Anyway i just wanted to let you know that it gets better. I have lost my hair before and it was dry and brittle. Everything just fell out of wack. God will work it out if u r a believer. Stay up on ur appts to ur endocrinologist and do not eat foods that make it worse. God bless! :) congrats again on ur baby boy!
Hi. I totally understand what you are talking about with meds causing hair loss. After I had my daughter I chose to get the Mirena IUD. I kept it in for almost a year and my hair thinned, broke off and wouldn't retain any length. I was so depressed about that. My doctor kept telling me that it was normal for the hair loss, but almost a year? It was too much. Thanks for being brave enough to tell your story. Congrats on the baby!
Wow I thought I was the only one suffering. I have PCOS and Hyperthyroidism. I've tried natural regiments to correct both with no success. Because the of strangeness of my cases I've gone to specialists and they are stumped as well. I did a round of radiation since none of the medication work. I ended having bad allergic reaction, which I've never had allergens to medicine. So one option was out of the two left was radiation. Well, that didn't work but now I'm dealing with clumps of hair com
hi I just wanted to ask if you would consider taking the natural route with your health, if so please give Dr Robert Morse a look up, I am not affiliated with him or his company but I believe he can help you, all those side effects you are getting to right a "wrong" is unbelievable. just thought I would offer you an alternative if you want. be blessef and a continued healthy pregnancy to you.
WOW! Ironic you should make this video. I have hypothyroidism back in 2008. I had no idea that the condition would affect my hair growth. If noticed lately in the past year that my hair is super dry. That's why I have to order soooo friggin much. I don't know how many customers you have in this region but you guys ship to me here in Japan. The leave in, scalp/hair balm, and hair parfait have really helped. Thanks for making larger sizes! I've been spreading the word about ur products over here!
Congrats on the baby. I was diagnosed with HYPERTHYROIDISM about seven years ago. Got treated, got my thyroid removed, now I take synthesis everyday, because now I have HYPOTHYROIDISM. Uuuugh!!, your hair does suffer, but all is not done in vain. Keep your head up.
My thyroid has slowed my hair growth too. The dryness and breakage is a pain, but I take vitamins and this year I was able to get back some of length I lost.
Your hair is still beautiful I am working on getting my hair to your length for now which is a struggle because I like to cut my hair I did my second big chop in June have not even had a trim so right now my hair is a little past the bottom of my ear not bad being that I had a very short boy cut so hopefully my hair will get past shoulder length or longer by this time next year
Thank you for sharing. Your advice and products have helped me on my natural hair journey. May Our Creator continue to bless you and your family and provide healing.
I also suffer with hypothyroidism, after my thyroid was removed because of thyroid cancer. I have to take a large amount of synthroid to combat the possible growth of another tumor. I am glad you spoke about the effects, my hair seems as if it was not growing and VERY dry. I feel that my hair should be longer but like you I am going to learn to be ok with whatever length my hair is. Losing my thyroid to cancer at 28, I know I will be on the medicine for life. I have to figure out how to live.
Honey dont worry I got thru my pregnancy by leaving my hair alone even now 3 almost 4 months post I wash every two weeks and leave it alone that way I dont worry myself too much over it. I was extremly dry during pregnancy as well I had severe eczema on my hands and PUPPS and I was in labor from friday until the following tuesday but it was all worth it when I look at my hunny bear good luck and God bless
Amen to ur health. To God be the Glory. It's funny how meds help one thing and messes up something else. So be blessed in your beautiful moment and don't worry bout hair u got plenty product and like i always say once u stop worrying that means that ur allowing God to what He does. Ur hair will grow when u let the worry go. BE BLESSED.
Thanks for sharing this. You look great. God continue to bless you and your family. Do you eat raw foods. I am researching for myself and everything I see says this helps to cleanse the body of toxins caused by diseases, meds and all the other stuff we put in our body. Watch 'Fat, sick and nearly dead'. You cant juice like the guy did in the video but you can be sure to eat raw while pregnant.
You are positively glowing! I've had PCOS for 20+ years and was only diagnosed 9 years ago. You have so much more density to your hair than I do. I have the typical male pattern hair-loss that Cysters get. I've also found out that my thyroid levels are off and am scheduled to see an endocrinologist.
The good news is, some Cysters see a huge positive change in their symptoms after having a baby. Even if you don't, at least you are being treated because I know many who aren't! Be blessed!
@Lovingthenaturalme have you tried metformin, as it really helps regulate the hormones and the hair loss. some dont like it because of the side effects but if you stick to a low carb diet they are practically nonexistent
@MochaGoody79 Thanks, Mocha. I've been on Metformin for several years now but still struggling to get to the right dosage. The side effects can be horrible...and not just from the carbs. However, it's better than being hot all the time. Hopefully the endo will have good news for me.
OAN, I never knew glucocorticoids (steroids) could induce diabetes. I now have steroid induced diabetes. Cysters need to be forewarned about the use of steroids for allergies, asthma, etc.
Congrats on your pregnancy! Try to do some research on some supplements/natural remedies that may help hypothyroidism. I believe Kelp is suppose to be helpful.
Hey girl! When you went away I had a thought that it could be your thyroid. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 2 and a half years ago and had two surgeries to remove my thyroid gland. I know what you mean about the meds and how it effects your body. I went to the doctor with a paper towel full of hair and she thought I was nuts. It takes a while for your body to adjust to your dose and ur levels to balance. After the baby things should be better. My prays are with you and the baby.
Girl don't worry about your hair, focus on your health and keeping your baby boy healthy. Seeing and meeting your son will definitely take your mind off of your hair. Don't worry, give everything to God.
We all go thru ups and downs w r hair. But I must point this point out-your hair is considered long right now. It's just not as long as 'you' want it to be. It's easy to forget how long your hair already is because we girls that wear r hair in its curly state most of the time aren't constantly seeing it at it's 'true' length. You know what to do to get to your goal-just be patient :-) You'll get there. And even if your hair wasn't as long as it is now- you r still a beautiful girl :-)
@yumyum215 Well you must be one sick lady..... Nobody Like to hear the TRUTH these days,She presented her self as a shallow.....She's a smart Girl, I'm sure she knows HAIR GROWS BACK!!! I stand by my comment... GOODDAY MISS
@mzescoe Her channel is focused on hair so naturally that was the topic of her concern,Its not shallow to want a nice appearance and to be healthy and pregnant. But u can tell she is over joyed about her pregnancy, soo stop being negative
@mspinkytee. Did you read the entire comment,or just kill your self? I said "PRAISE GOD YOU DON't HAVE CANCER YOU MIGHT KILL YOURSELF"I stand by my comment, she presented her self as being shallow over a head of hair and an illness she has NO control over,..again she needs to stop stressing out over her hair cause it adding to the problem....Goodday miss
I'm so glad to hear you are okay. I've been watching you videos almost as long as I've been natural. You were such an inspiration for me. Youtube has been so empty without you. Good luck with everything especially your growing family.
AMEN! As a diabetic I totally understand. I got to a point where I was constantly comparing my length to other that were the same hair age as me. BAD MOVE! That mentallity had me switching my products everytime someone said something new. It is something I still have to be careful of and thank you for sharing. It lets me know that I'm not the only one! God Bless you, baby and hubs... CONGRATULATIONS!
@SunShon07 I am a diabetic too... I had no idea how it affected my growth... I did the same thing jumping from one product to the next. Yes! you are right we need to stay focused on our health and our own hair journey. Really liked your comment!
You are absolutely right.... be healthy, have a healthy baby and let your hair do what it does. Continue your regimen but don't drive yourself crazy trying to do extra to it. If you end up doing another BC you know you can grow it back again!
Hi. I can't imagine what it must be like to wash your hair and see it coming out. Must be stressful but you've got your baby, be happy and eat right so he gets the best start. And you can rock some cute head-wraps if you don't want to do another chop. Hope everything goes great for you. Blessings - Eve.
I can totally relate! I also have the same condition and had a total thyroid removal last March. Supplements have helped to restore the moisture and reverse the breakage. I take evening primrose oil and omega 3. Its so traumatic to have healthy hair one day, and dry, brittle hair and skin the next .
Thanks to ur products, my hair has been growing like weeds. Since bcing 04/26/11 after an 8 month transition my hair is now below my collar bone. I never thought it would grow this fast. Speaking of ur products, I'll b ordering soon. Glad 2 know ur good!
I'm happy your pregnancy is going well. Girl, there are things you can't foresee. It would be worse if you weren't taking care of your hair. You've maitained. That's pretty darn good.
congrats on the pregnancy. I was also diagonosed with hyperthyroidism last year and its affected my hair growth jouney. But with patience and love my hair is slowly growing back.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Girl Get over your hair1!!!! you can buy some hair, the stressin out over you hair plus the health problems is not a good combo, I can not belive your this shallow when it come to a head of hair...... PRAISE GOD you don't have cancer and need chemo, you might just kill your self...
@mzescoe and you insulting her is improving her health so much more. SHUT UP! she is just venting dont like it DONT WATCH! people like you make me sick.
@mzescoe You need to get over yourself!!!!!! Did you listen to the whole video? If u did, you would not have made this comment. She is speaking of past tense. How she felt at first. Her testimony will help people...You say Praise God and kill yourself in the same sentence? Again get over your bad attitude!
When I was pregnant my didnt grow but my legs and underarm hair grew like crazy. My hair didnt grow until after I gave birth and my texture changed. Now my edges are coming out. I make sure keep my hair and edges moisturize and oiled. It will work out.
Your video really helped. I have sle lupus and hypothyroidism also. My nature hair was in a battle. But I been using castor, and its really gettin thick and long. Good luck!
I am on meds for my SLE Lupus and it reeks havoc on my body. But what I did was drink more water, take an mutli-vitamin that my doctor told me to take and my hair is healthy and it is growing like a weed. My over all health is great now.
@chilid856 Hi child, my hair has been fallen out like crazy even after my two pregnancies. Can you tell me what kind of multi-vitamin your doctor told you to take. If you see my hair you would laugh at me now i;m just wearing wigs, pleasse i need help.
Congratz once again on your pregnancy I am worried that I might have this condition because I have some of the symptoms like infertility and facial hair but the worst thing for me is that I don't have medical care what should I do,so many women like us don't get to enjoy being pregnant so I'm really glad to see that u are God bless
Girlll, you are not alone! I too was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last year! My hair is suffering too. Which is why I have sort of backed away from posting on the blog. I've been feeling pretty down about it. Especially when I'm around lots of gorgeous Naturals at meet ups. I have the same thoughts and feelings as you do right. I'm also practicing the same routines. I too have to trim often and just got some ends cut two weeks ago. I take vitamins too. It's almost like I'm trying to hold on to
I know what you are talking about with hypothyroidism, my hair started breaking off this year as well from my medication.I had to get MRI's for lesion on the brain, I have a GI disease and more.to my body is getting back on track now,I too had to cut off so much this year and I had goals to have waist length hair this year. But my ends had a mind of their own, they broke bad.I wanted to crying.I started using evening primrose oil and castor oil, and had should that my ends to trimmed.God bless you
i should talk about this hypothyrodism on my channel...being that i don't have a thyroid at all ...and i take synthroid...i know all about the brittle hair to everything i been through it all..im better now just stay through the medicine and try to get as much of natural vitamins through fruits and veggies and in three to four months your hair should recover.
Thanks for helping me understand my breaking brittle hair (I take synthroid for hypothyroid) and couldn't understand why after 3 years very little growth. Oddly enough blowing my hair dry on medium helps with the ends breaking off...strange. You look great and congrats!
(PS: Shea Moisture products help with the dryness too so you don't have to spritz all day.)
I completely understand I had 2 pregnacies back to back n alot of complications with both. My hair h broken off and even left bold spots I feel like giving up and doing a second big chop. My daughter is now 3 weeks old so should I give it more time now that im no long Pregnate and on meds or go ahead with the next chop
I too was diagnosed with pcos and my hair falls out bad. Its very depressing and now I'm thinking I need to get my thyroid checked thanks for all the videos!
I Had Thyroid Cancer And Had To Get Mines Tooken Out. Before I Figured Out I Had It, My Hair Would Fall Out In Spots : / I Thought It Was Perming So I Went Natural . My Hairs Gettin Better IT Seems But I Take A Thyroid Replacement Daily :) Just Here To Tell You You Arent Alone With Thyroid & Hair Issues Lol . I Wish You Great Health, You & Your Baby . <3 Love The Video .
I'm so glad your healthy and your hair is always fab. With prayer I'm sure 2012 will be a great year. I love your channel and I want to say It has been a god send. I'm 9 months in transition and you have really helped me. I'm even thinking of starting a product line with inspiration from you :-D I wish you and your family health, peace and love :-)
I suffer from PCOS and I have trouble growing hair. I have been on metformin a while now and hair literally falls out from the root. But it's great you have been able to conceive! I have realized that hair will come and go but health is what is most important!!!
I understand were you are coming from. I too have PCOS and have had it for years. Went from doctor to doctor and no true help for this disease. I have been natural for 3 years now and have had slow growth as well. I use your products and just started using henna, I have had three treatments in the last two months and have seen a tremendous difference in my hair.. Any cause, I wanted you to know you were not alone. Pray that all goes well for you and your pregnancy.
WOW!!!! I was just diagnosed with "Hyperthyrodism" which is the opposite of what you have. Hyperthryroid is when you lose weight, but I guess you know that. I lost 30 pounds in 4 days!!!! They put me on thryroid medication also. My hair has become really dry. So I can relate. Your hair is still beautiful!!!!. Whatever God's will let it be done. I still love my hair....lol.
I can totally relate. I have PCOS and hypothyroidism. I have been on my natural hair journey for almost 2 years. My hair is at my shoulders, but it has started breaking off. I'm trying to stay positive. Anyway, stay encouraged and positive.
I've never been diagnosed with anything that required permanent medication but I do remember that I had a hard first pregnancy. My hair grew a lot when I was pregnant but it all fell out and I mean it all fell out during the birthing process. But as you said, health first!!
Your hair is beautiful no matter what!!! Tremendous growth is not everything. I love love love love your products and of course I am about to retail in my salon. The "Moisture Rich Hair Parfait" is the bomb.com!!!! To all you lovely naturals, don't sleep on Alikay Nautrals, I have grown over 6 inches in one year!!!! BC on Dec. 24, 2011 under 2 inches and now.....smh her products are the real deal!!!!!
I too have PCOS and it has took a toll on my hair journey. I was five years natural, shoulder lgnth hair and all of a sudden my hair starts to cm out!!! Depression set in and I permed it! Big mistake, made my hair shed more. I have yet to find smthing to help with the loss. Im back to trans stage, debating on big chop or continue.???? Im at a stand still......
Oh snap Im the first to comment!lmbo That little burp was too cute. LOL. You look great sweets. And I pray that your thyroid function the way God created it to be, Keep pushing and thanks for the vid :)
Thank you for this video. I too have hypothyroidism and have had tons of breakage, and it was good seeing this. congratulations on your pregnancy.

If you end up doing another BC you know you can grow it back again!
n2xrcise 1 month ago

It's almost like I'm trying to hold on to
mahoganybella 1 month ago
