Other than humiliating the girl, what is a "virginity test" for? I could understand if you are examining for sexual abuse in a criminal case, but this is otherwise unecessary.

I'm aware of that disgusting fact, and thankful I don't live there. I am struggling to find the words to describe how horrendous the idea of a medical doctor examining a female for the sole purpose of "virginity testing" is to me. I wonder how many virgins have been killed because they didn't have a "textbook" hymen or because they didn't bleed when raped for the first time.

@scifimom A girl named Pela Atroshi made front page news when shot and killed by her father after lureing her to Kurdistan. She wanted to live like a westener in Sweden, where she had citizenship. Our police struggled to detain him because it was comitted abroad and he was freed by their authorities after an obduction showed she was not a virgin. Our late (murdered) foreign minister at the time, Anna Lind, pulled some diplomatic strings and could bring her sister Breen home to testify.
