DRAG RACES ARE NOT REAL RACES. Real races test ALL aspects of a cars performance capabilities. Cornering, acceleration, braking, stability, everything. Drag races are just as useless as comparing Dyno numbers.
Also, that is no longer a SRT10 viper. it USED to be, but it isn't, just like that's barely an Evo. The SRT part standy for Street and Racing Technologies, Chryslers in-house tuning company. It doesn't really make sense to say it's an SRT if almost all the SRT parts have been swapped out.
I couldn't give a shit less what the fags at motor trend get paid to say about cars. an Evo at a drag strip is 100%pointless (just like hondas, but for different reasons) the outstanding feature about the evo is the awesome AWD system. the S-AWC and AYC in the evo are designed to make it CORNER well. the awesome design and tuning allow it to stop well, and the engine is limited to 2.0L by WRC regulations, so they do what they can with it. it is a race car by all definitions. built for REAL RACES

@Thetmaxx2 i wasnt talking about a modded challenger.I was meaning an Evo 8 9 or 10 with intake and exhaust could either hang with or outrun a stock challenger SRT8 in the quarter.a stock evo 9 MR will do the 1/4 in 13.3 (motor trend) while the challenger SRT8 does it in 13.2 (car and driver),so it would be very very close race stock.I know that the challenger would eventually pull away after about 110 or 120 because of sheer horsepower,but evos are no joke,and by far not rice.

DRAG RACES ARE NOT REAL RACES. Real races test ALL aspects of a cars performance capabilities. Cornering, acceleration, braking, stability, everything. Drag races are just as useless as comparing Dyno numbers.
Also, that is no longer a SRT10 viper. it USED to be, but it isn't, just like that's barely an Evo. The SRT part standy for Street and Racing Technologies, Chryslers in-house tuning company. It doesn't really make sense to say it's an SRT if almost all the SRT parts have been swapped out.

I couldn't give a shit less what the fags at motor trend get paid to say about cars. an Evo at a drag strip is 100%pointless (just like hondas, but for different reasons) the outstanding feature about the evo is the awesome AWD system. the S-AWC and AYC in the evo are designed to make it CORNER well. the awesome design and tuning allow it to stop well, and the engine is limited to 2.0L by WRC regulations, so they do what they can with it. it is a race car by all definitions. built for REAL RACES

ummm no. an srt10 acr viper is faster than the corvette zr1 on a track. and a zr1 would hand an evo its ass on a track. now if you spend 35k on your evo and do all the suspension...throw in a gt35r with a shortblock...then you might be able to kinda keep up. i owned an evo. they handle awesome. but they cant keep up with a 600hp supercar. sorry

ok...the only difference is different coilovers and aerodynamics....the viper srt10 would still annihalate an evo x...or ix or viii for that matter. look up times. car and driver did a lightning lap at the virginia intl raceway. the viper srt10 ran it in like 2:48 or sumthin like that and the evo was in the ball park of 3:12. thats not even close...
