This recording is a private one: this band, a customised version of a band called "Red Wing" (from Holland) never recorded in a studio and was disbanded after the Breda festival of 1998. A local fan recorded the festival performance and this is one of the pieces. I there's interest, I can MP3 them
What a beautiful cover which most surely honors the sound of 1923!
Averaging 2 hours each, my playlists for 300 artists & each of the past 120 years are meant to be your most accessable & intrnational music library ever !
What is surprising to me is that a string bass was used in 1923 for a recording. Bass sax or tuba was the choice of so many recording studios because Mics could not pick up the low register. Although I have hear gut buckets and Gugs used...Thank you so much!!!!!!! Ran
This NORK tribute band was based on the former band "Red Wing" (a Dutch six piece NO Band) completed by a piano player (Herman Wirtz) and a extra alto/C-melody saxophonist (Ton Damm).
Have you got any other recordings of this band? They're great!
