Why do all war videos spark a massive flame war, guys it happened over 100 years ago. The world is very different now and you can't change what happened but rather prevent it from happening again in the future. But I must admit our British history is rather shameful in areas.

On concentration camps - the word now has a differing connotation, they were established as areas for those who had surrendered but Kitchener did advocate the burning of farms to end the war. Furthermore, the ineptitude of the British Command and the lack of supplies resulted in widespread disease and 28,000 Boers killed as a result. With civilian control of the camps, death was almost wiped out.

In order for some balance - Britain had invested lots into the 2 Boer areas. Within 10 years of gold been found in Transvaal and Orange Free County they produced 27% of the world's. Furthermore, Britain was probably power hungry and did not want the stability of her Empire threatened. Many Uitlanders wanted to become part of the British Empire and after the Second Boer war the younger Boers also did (maybe security reasons?)

So why do we assume the average standard of intelligence evolved to be identical? One of the major reasons for the failure of Africa is the poorer average intelligence. I wouldn't call the Boer Wars a genocide, and it certainly wasn't a Holocaust. The conditions in the concentration camps were appalling, but it wasn't a plan of extermination, and it certainly wasn't racially motivated. People died in the concentration camps from the same reasons soldiers died on campaign, improper nutrition, heat stroke, dysentery, random diseases etc. There was no policy of extermination. Do not exaggerate.

But the British still had some infulence over the area. Then gold was found in the boer free state. The british wanted control of the gold. But it is a bit more complex than that, and neither side is completely innocent.

In the grand scheme of things, the people of the Transvaal still didn't belong in Africa, were inherently racist, and relied on the British government to save them from the Zulus in 1877. Not saying that the British were in the right, but maybe you should all take a more objective viewpoint. Both sides were fighting over land that wasn't theirs...you rarely find anyone praising the Zulu victory at Isandlwana, but surely they lost more in the grand scheme of things?

@NegiJew Okay, because I have a History Textbook and I see the bullshit all over the page. EVERY SINGLE SECTION HAS A MENTION OF BLACK PEOPLE. What they mention about them is so unneeded and so unimportant and is always a lie. They will make whites look evil also. The majority of chapters have there fair share of the word "Racism."

I heard Rev. Sharpten complaining about trash in Harlem and then saying how clean it was only blocks away from Harlem. That is because most white people, USE the garbage can, whereas black people AND Mexicans, use the ground to throw things away. I managed apartments in Arlington Texas, and the Mexicans would drink cases of beer, and rather than take them to the dumpster only 30 feet away, they would leave them on the parking lot! PIGS!

@hddragracer1 well when I was in basic training we had to do details. one of my detail was to pick up the trash at the apartments of where the soldiers families lived. Well 80 percent of the white were dirty as shit. They did not use the garbage maggots, roaches, and fly were everywhere. i think you guys are the pigs. in fact you guys are pink like one. lol little pink dick cracker.
