The music that he made on this mixtape and others is real talent and skill and they saw that artistic value in Charles Hamilton and they didn't want to see him end up like Soulja Boy. If you listen to some of his most recent song (gauchos) it has a more commercial/ mainstream feeling to it and you might not like it. CH doesn't need a record deal, he needs listeners.

Lupe is a one of a kind rapper and he kinda started the geek thing that charles talks about. And you can't beat the originator.

He didn't start the geek thing by a long shot. MC Chris, who is straight nerdcore, started the same time as Lupe, and Aesop Rock has been spreading geek-influences throughout his lyrics since the mi 90s. Lupe is a more skilled rapper, faster and more versatile and is a better lyricist on a technical level, for sure, but I think CH has a more original swagga and flow, and while Lupe's lyrics make me think deeply, I can better relate to and feel CH's more grounded lyrics.

Okay, hold up, charles is the future but there is no way in hell that Charles Hamilton is better than Lupe. Because first of all Lupe is probably the best rapper i've heard since Pac, Jay, Big, Nas, came out( I think he is better than Jay and Em). Charles might have some sick ass lines and songs but theres some bad ones, Lu doesn't make bad songs and like shy2 said Lu is the metaphor king he just is so smart they are hard to catch sometimes. Like at first i didn't understand the insrumental.

i agree with you. Sometimes music tends to take a wrong turn on creative and takes a long drive down WTF ave lol, but only to be fair people said that Rap itself was garbage. Pioneers are never looked at as great until they have paved the way. So maybe 5-10 years from now you'll be like "wow this guy was cold" it's just how things work.
