The Draken is no doubt one of history's most estethic fighters, and an impressive achievement for a small nation like Sweden. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the top of my head I think the US had the first mach 2 fighter in early 1954 with the F-104, the Soviets with the Mig-21 in early 1955, the Swedes with the Draken in late 1955 and the British with the Lightning in 1957.
@flystentz Couldn´t agree with you more. When we beat Uruguay 6-1 the pilots and mechanics at AB Karup painted it as the danish flag with callsign "6-1 danish dynamite". Those good old days in 86:0)
@strykerxo yes, i have work whit Viggen around me to and Gripen and I only can say.. why make planes to heavy... ;) when you can use one engine and go fast as hell anyway ;)

What a nice clip! It´s a Draken from the Royal Danish Airforce. We had them in Denmark from 73-96....There are 5 in the US flying with the national test pilot school. I sure miss this wonderful aircraft. And what a sound. By far it was the loudest of all fighters in the danish airforce ( compared to the F-104 and F-16)
Swedish aircraft there is nothing better!.
