  • i eat chilli with rice .. why cant i be normal v.v

  • Where can I get that coffee mug ??

  • im not a Vegetarian, but that looked damn good

  • I want a slap chop now.

  • Question: is there a difference in the taste between adding the spices earlier (adding them before you add veggies) and adding the spices when you add them (after you added the other ingredients?)

I ask because I'm Indian and have this perennial debate going with my mom about the best time to add spices to our food - I like to add them earlier and later, she complains adding them later makes you taste raw spice in the food.

I'd love your thoughts on this matter, thanks.

  • @ilurvemv She's right. Two things dry spices do.

    1. they soften

    2. then they release their flavor.

If you put them in at the end, you take the chance of those two things not happening.

  • I love the intro to this video..Best intro EVER.

  • U sound like Charlie Sheen :P

  • YOU FORGOT ZEE CHEESE A LA .. CHEESE!!! :O

  • Hey Jack. I tried this a few months ago, replaced the kidney beans with pinto, added some cheese and sour cream, and threw it on some chips. It was so freaking good. Keep doing what you do best man. You're show is great.

  • You should made intros like this more often.

  • @jakatak69 Hey Jack, I have been watching your shows quiet often now, and i love your silverware set..... where did you get them? Can i buy some from you? Thanks -Matt

  • @mustard102 I received them as a gift for my wedding from Kathy Ireland. I am not sure where she got them. Print out a pic of the set from my vid and bring to Macy's or crate and barrel or some other store to help identify it.

  • @jakatak69 My fiancé says the world market might have them. I'll check it out. Thank you. Love the Show. I always use it for recipes =].

p.s. I am going to buy some sauces or seasoning from you soon. Can't wait to try them!!

  • yummy

  • never put salt?

  • I JUST bought the ingrediants to make this... i am sooo excited lol.... One question. I dont like Carrots so i plan to use potatoes. Should i add more water because of that?

  • @atltallone907 not sure. If you feel you need to then make sure you simmer out any extra water to keep it thick.

  • hey jack im Peruvian and we eat spicy foods for a living. We're love it so much we put it eggs, potatoes, and even rice. If u ever r gonna have a party with Latinos leave the seeds in cuz we all love spicy food.

Just saying and warning for international foods expect alot of spicy food and spices u never heard of lol

  • hey jack i love that ur not professional but more personal in ur videos cuz most chefs

    go

"first u cut it, than u slice the tail and finally u roast it."

    U say

"Alright you first cut the fish open and ...opps i just cut my thumb lol or i just love how 2k300y4 cooked that pot roast."

    U rock man

  • Awesome recipe. Cheers mate.

  • A tip to anyone as dumb as me: Use some gloves or something when cutting the Jalapenos. And try not to touch your eyes while your doing it.

I burnt the hell out of my eye, and my fingers are stinging unmercifully right now. It feels like someone is pouring boiling water over my hands.

  • @Swordth you may also be allergic to the oil in the skin of the Jalapeno . I had no issues. You are right to use gloves so this doesn't happen again. Nice comment. thanks for the warning.

  • @Swordth u might be allergic dude

  • You should do a review about the better burger maker! (: It'd be AWESOME!

  • @jakatak69 can i put meat in the chilli

  • lmao! This is sooooo funny! I luv it!

  • all the vegetables in the bowl looks like salsa

  • orr how about chocolate molten lava cake

  • hi jack i didnt forgett about the pancakes, but havent time to wrote it down

  • i think you should do a cake on your 100th episode and decorate it with frosting saying 100th episode (cake i mean= from scratch)

  • do the nicer dicer

  • u should do the nicer dicer

  • Hi how are you? I hope good well I think you should try out the Big Cup Cake thing out. Show us if it really works lol

  • @xDiNoGoEsRAWRx03 i did a video already on the big cupcake. search for it, please.

  • HEY JACK

could u review the sonic blade :)

  • that doesn't look like chili but it looks gooood

  • i beg you please what is that sax song doo doo doo

  • @fretryu the song in the beginning of my video?

  • @jakatak69 yea it was cool :D

  • Do I need that mug to make this dish too? Lol.

  • @xdaysx Chili aint a US American dish. Its a mexican dish and doesn't contain any meat.

What you talk about is the version of chili that comes from the southern US States, and is called "chilli con carne" wich translates into "chilli with meat"

Original chilli is a vegetarian dish :)

  • Way to go Jack, this is a really good recipe.

Meatless or meat-full, any time of year is a good time for chili!

  • To add an extra kick to chili w/o being overpoweringly spicy i like to add a little white pepper and cayenne pepper. About 1 tablespoot each should do for a pot like that. Also instead of Jalapenos use serranos! I wanna see you try them one of these days, lol!

  • Yum! I live for your vegetarian-friendly recipes. :D

  • @Metal4Ever1975 cook the bison rare then add to the mix. you should be fine.

  • Wow Jack! You're better than that Vince guy from the SlapChop commercial!

I've found that chili powder actually does not go very far, if someone wanted a less spicy version I could cut down the jalapeño peppers to about 1 instead of 3, and maybe reduce the chili powder by one third.

    That's just me.

  • is it pronounced like k-oo-man or que-man

  • @IcyProductionsInc I am almost positive it's koo-man. go to dictionary (dot) com and they give two pronunciations.

  • isint it vegan to and if so that would be kinda akward for the vegans because you put liquid creamer in your coffe

  • Jack!!!! Oh my god, I was just chillin looking through different videos and I came across yours and I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! Can you do a "meat" spicy chili? I've tried so many different meat chili and it doesn't come up spicy or thick I NEED THICK SAUSE MEAT CHILI.... help! Football season is coming soon, and nothing like chili for football.

    Regards,

    Tasha

  • @tashagotjunk99 I will add to my football season menu. Yeah!!! Go Cowboys.

  • Do you ship your products, outside of the United States?

  • @OverheatedSamurai I am so sorry I don't. Too expensive and always gets damaged in the trip overseas.

  • Your crushed tomatoes looked like tomate puree, am I right in this?

  • @lindyan they are crushed tomatoes in tomato puree.

  • OMG. that looks like heaven jack... u have me dieing here lol

  • LOL.. ur cooking looks great.. probaly thts why ur so fat.. :(

  • @SpecOpsClan2010 u sure do know how to be an asshole (;

  • @SpecOpsClan2010 no. I am fat because I don't exercise at all. If I was more active I would lose much more weight. In two weeks I am going to let my viewers know that I am going to lose 30 pounds by the end of the year. Sounds like a little bit, but it's always better to lose weight slow. I used to be a 34 inch waist until I stopped smoking and I never was thin again. Let's see what I can do for the show. LOL

  • hi im from singapore and i love ur show jack..u've done meat episodes u've done vegetarian episodes..how abt a seafood episode?maybe a lazy man's seafood platter or sumthing..

  • I usually do a regular meat and kidney bean chili and I find out tastes better done in a slow cooker. Do you think this recipe would do alright in a slow cooker too? I will keep this one in mind to try. Sounds and looks yummy. how spicey hot was it? some members of my family don't like hot. ~Amanda

  • @GettingThereGreen the spicy heat was only about a 5 on a scale of 1-10.

  • @GettingThereGreen use green chilis instead of jalepenos if you don't want heat.

  • is it better to use ground corriander or freashly picked corridander

  • @191MASTER the only benefit to ground coriander is that it dissolves well. You can ground or cut your own if you don't mind some bits in your chili. I don't care but some might.

  • would a chili with meat and cheese be so different to make?

  • @ultimatesly no. Just brown your meat and ad to the veggies once they are sauteed. then top with cheese at the end.

  • jack im still watching your visd and its awesome always makin it thx for changing my life to be a cooker.

  • im still watchin your vids love them alwayz trying them out :D

  • You forgot the pound of ground beef that goes in good sir. ;)

  • in one of your earlier episode you said something about that is was better to mix the dry ingredients, is there any reason that you did not do that in this show?

  • @emil95haha that comment was when your baking. Mix dry ingredients first to get a good blend. Cooking is different. It mixes just fine.

  • @jakatak69 ok thanks :)

  • @emil95haha wow, way to be a fag?

  • Super job....really looks good!!!

  • cool intro.

  • i have to get one of those slap chop things. wonder if they sell in england. what a invention. and is your coffee cup. jack off halloween?

  • @benolovesbekki What about halloween? :D just kidding. Your comment was written funny. I had to make note of it. I got that mug at Disneyland in the Jack Skelington Store.

  • the butter was so thick on the bread, that i swear, i thought it was cream cheese! oh jack, u nut! i love ya! lol =)

  • @JustNess78 I specifically dragged the top to make sure I wouldn't get this comment. How do you butter bread? Just the corner? LOL :D

  • @jakatak69 i honestly hesitated in commenting about the butter because i knew u'd be expecting it, but i couldn't help it, lol.... idk. maybe it just looks like a lot on camera...? i'm sure it was delish, though! =)

  • ...and not funny

  • Comment removed

  • @zastyla Well since this is a cooking show and not a catwalk i guess nobody cares about Jack's bodyweight, it's about his cooking skills. Anyway, Jack, that recipe looks delicious :) By the way, have you already had time to look at my e-mail with the pesto recipe? If not, please do so - you will not regret it :)

  • HEY JACK, WOULD YOU LIKE SOME BREAD WITH THAT BUTTER?

  • @Michaelsp9 are you kidding me? I even scrapped it to make sure it was covered but not to thick on top so I wouldn't have this comment. Amazing. You guys live to criticize. LOLOL

  • hey jack to cut the heat on the chili try putting grated cheese on top of it. Plus the cheese makes it taste better :)

  • first few minutes are hilarious #LOL LOVE you videos

  • That looked beautiful. Wonderful dish!

  • Your wife must be lucky to have you. Lol. Like your humor and that chili looks delicious!

  • @214Christian I'm lucky to have her. She is so supportive of what I do. I love her a lot.

  • Lol Love the opening Jack, if only more chefs would do that lol.

Love the Chili as well, saw the idea of using cinnamon months ago, i did find though that a dash of ground nutmeg also works really well, but ginger didn't sadly.

  • Jack can i ask you ? Will you do some grilling episodes ? :) since its BBQ season

  • @cQnne I can work one in for you. let me think about it and see what can be done.

  • @jakatak69 thanks :)

  • you are the best chief ever!

  • Oh I agree. I enjoy this more than stuff on Food Network, because you have a real person, in a real kitchen, in a real house, keeping it real. No fancy post-production edits. Just real cooking.

  • Your show is just as good as any of those Food Network croonies comrade, keep on cooking and keep up the great work.

  • This is AWESOME. I've looked for a spicy two-bean vegetarian chili for a while (Yes, that was pretty hard saying 5 times fast) This made a perfect addition to my lunch board and I really recommend all of you trying this recipe, and as Jack said, experiment with it, it can be used for a lot of stuff. I even made some vegetarian chili patties, it was good :F

  • LOL... you said dutch oven

  • viewer mail??

  • nice video looks prety hot!!!!

how about for your 100th episode do a video on the ultimake bbq and show us what to but on the bbq and how to cook it??

oh and with the chillies the seeds are prety hot but the hottest part is actually the white stuff inside that the seeds are atached to.

  • cooking with jack > coffee

  • Aint chili a vegetarian dish anyway? Except for the US American chili con carne.

Also, the seed contain almost no capsaicin. The seeds are just removed for looks.

Its the white stuff in the chili that contains the most capsaicin (because thats where the chili produces it). If you remove that, you get rid of alot of heat. Also the white stuff contains close to no taste, thats why its usually removed.

Thats a common misinformation that is spread by cooks worldwide.

  • that looks awesome!! ive never made chilli and i think I only ate it once (because im from south america so chilli isnt really a part of our cuisine) but that looks really good!! im gonna try it some time soon

  • lol loved the begining

  • That looks awesome :D

  • you also think katsup is hot.

  • y did u need so much

  • looks great, in your opinion what would be a good summertime picnic that's light but refreshing?

  • @Yalayna87 simple is always good. Ham and cheese with deli mustard. Watermelon wedges. Then after playing Frisbee for an hour you can sit down and enjoy some bing cherries.

  • i loved the beginning hah, unexpected surprise :) keep it up!

  • Will you make falafels next time for vegetarians? :)

  • when I make this I'm definately throwing in some beef or something.
