Matt Damon is a great actor but this trailer looks like it was specifically edited to make it look funny. Is this movie really funny or is it one of those depressing films that they're masking as a comedy?
2:00 Buster Bluth reference! I really liked this movie. It's a dark comedy/satire. I thought it was great. I loved that Matt Damon, Joel Mchale, Tony Hale, and Scott Bakula starred in it together.
This movie or the actual story rather is hilarious. I mean what a jackass he tells 1 tiny lil lie to buy time to cover his ass, he eventually fixes his problem but is stuck with the FBI b/c of his initial lie so he just goes with it, informs on the whole company, treats the whole thing like a game, tells new lies at every turn & all the while is just digging himself deeper & deeper. As he gets in more trouble his solution seems to be tell another lie

My dad has worked woth some of the people the movie's characters are based on, and it's pretty accuate. You guys need to understand this is based off a true story, they aren't just going to whip out their guns, they work at a corn company.
Did you realize how they put Geroge Clooney's name on the credits for a very short time and used small caps for "Executive Producers" to give the movie extra star credit and lead people into believing he'd also be on screen?
I mean, they didn't lie about it, people's perception's lead them to believe that, they might have done it on purpose, but it was other people who might misread or misunderstand the credits.
It's all about misdirection, notice how they made him look stupid in the trailer?

Every time I watch a trailer with a renown producer/actor you can never read their role, so I wouldn't think its coincidental, publicity is always misleading, that's their job.

The point you are missing is that this is not a comedy, this is a satire. If you do not have a minimum general knowledge you are gonna miss the whole thing, so better stay home watching "Two and a half men" (you do get the jokes in that one, right?)

Yeah, Brad Pitt is very good if you want to see a movie and never forget that you're watching Brad Pitt acting. There are cases in which this is cool, like with Christopher Walken, for example. Not so much in others. And anyway, Brad Pitt is too tall and good looking to convince as your average accountant type, which is what they needed for this role.

I read this book 2 times and if this movie is anything like the book.....BOY!!!! are we in for a ride!!!!!!! By the way...I used to work for Archer, Daniel, Midland in Buffalo, New York for a short time and they never once mentioned Mark Whitacre. Smart Boys!!!!
My son and I both were called to be extra's in this movie...Can't wait to see if they out us in it or left us on the cutting room floor....Had NO clue they were making it into a comedy though...I actually worked for ADM during the scandel..can't wait for the movie

and hes not overrated at all. he is an incredible actor. hes really good at bringing out a character in a movie. like in the movie Snatch and Inglorious Bastards. two rolls that he really hit a home run on...and those were just off the top of my head

Yeah, Brad Pitt is very good if you want to see a movie and never forget that you're watching Brad Pitt acting. There are cases in which this is cool, like with Christopher Walken, for example. Not so much in others. And anyway, Brad Pitt is too tall and good looking to convince as your average accountant type, which is what they needed for this role.

i mean, Matt Damon isnt considered ugly or goofy looking either. thats why they gave him a stupid mustache. its really easy to make any one look really ugly. Such as Edward Scissorhands who was hideous yet played by Americas heart-throb...but i can definitely agree with your first statement

I read this book 2 times and if this movie is anything like the book.....BOY!!!! are we in for a ride!!!!!!! By the way...I used to work for Archer, Daniel, Midland in Buffalo, New York for a short time and they never once mentioned Mark Whitacre. Smart Boys!!!!

My son and I both were called to be extra's in this movie...Can't wait to see if they out us in it or left us on the cutting room floor....Had NO clue they were making it into a comedy though...I actually worked for ADM during the scandel..can't wait for the movie
