I agree that over time, resource wise, the middle east had lost some advantage over the years but I want you to look at what has been known as the 'Islamic Golden Age'.This was a period of time when Europe was still living in the shadow of the fall of Rome (middle ages). Even though it is called the 'Islamic Golden Age', Islam had very little to do with the success of this time in the middle east. It was the openness of knowledge and willingness to look at other ideas. Opposite of now.

From 4000 years ago to 1258 CE, the middle east was ether technologically equivalent to Europe or superior. This all fell when the Mongols killed everyone in Baghdad, ending the Islamic Golden Age. Natural selection favoured phenotypes in humans that improve environment manipulation skills in every possible terrain on Earth. This is a year old but I'll answer it anyway. Eurasian climate is colder and seasonal.
1. Less available resources to rear children, more emphasis on careful forward planning and maximising available resources, designing shelter, storing food etc in a changing seasonal cycle.
2. Conversely, tropical climates less seasonal change, predictable environment, greater food availability, less emphasis on forward planning, larger famillies, higher mortality rate.

@Kandemangs Some people just suck at math. for instance i'm good at math/physics but there are some students that just don't think well mathematically. Computers and luxuries but they don't improve math skills :P. I am not sure what university you attend but you'll notice that better universities have significantly smarter students. They learn faster and apply themselves more.

@infinity999ful My friend goes to med school and he says its fucking hard. My friend and I never applied ourselves in college. We studied probably like 2-3 hour before our exam and received A's. At med school he applies himself but he can only get grades that are around 80%. His roomate constantly gets grades ~70%. They both study hard as hell. One of his classmates... has photographic memory and easily gets A's in med school. He also smokes pot everyday. What does this tell you?

@infinity999ful Professional sports is an awesome example. Don't you think other NBA players practice as much as Michael Jordan did. Don't you think other golfers attempted to practice more than Tiger Woods. Why was Feder such a dominant tennis player? Why are certain QB's just better then some qb's.
There are limitations to practice and every activity humans do. Very few can go past it.
If everybody could become olympians than wtf is the point of the Olympics..

My IQ is a "near genius" score, so I'm pretty sure it's higher than my double major friend here, the simple fact is that high IQ and academic excellence are two separate issues.

There us no genetic difference between races, for there are no "races." We are all one species, with the same genetic code that spells out "YOU ARE HUMAN." If you cut yourself, and bleed red, you are no different genetically than those with who also bleed red. If you bleed another color, go to the doctor or kill yourself. The fact that certain "races" score higher on IQ test is because of the culture that revolves around that group of people.

Jews are not genetically more intelligent than any other humans. The cultural ideas are though. The Jewish religion is very knowledge based, there coming of age ceremony is reading out of a book (Bar Mitzvahs). During the middle ages it is very likely that aside from the clergy the Jews in Europe were the most literate of peoples by there faith being intertwined with knowledge.
