  • @Gregwar1979, I can understand multiple drum sets. If you need 2 basses to play that easy of a song, I think you need to re think the "musicians" in your band.

  • Really, two bassists? Sid Vicious called and wants his lack of ability back.

  • @pubslime did you even saw the 2 drumsets. :)

  • Now that's a performance.

  • I saw them play in Hollywood. My friend flaked out and I went by myself. Great sexy show!!

  • I love them.

  • Why dont girls do stuff like this anymore? What happened to L7, Sonic Youth, and Kim Deal?

  • I think I'm in love....

  • Does the carpet match the drapes.......lol

  • wow cds in a box, i wish the 90's would come back

  • when girls actually didnt care about breaking a nail.

  • You shred those keys, Paul Shaffer. 0:41 +Infinity

  • I liked L7 but they owe a lot to The Runaways and Joan Jett

  • Embarrassing....so bad.

  • @HangTheScientologist do u think britney spears would sound better if she sang for real?

  • @sillysean27 Hell no. I just think this sounds quite shite. Why are there 2 bass players?

  • These ladies seem to be really having a ball. As they should be of course since it is their birthright to rock this hard.

  • WHERE ARE THE 90´S ? GIMME AGAIN , PLEASE GOD!

  • @nevermind182 I know right >_> its really cliche' but I really wish I was 15 in 1990 (Im 15 now)

  • @alotofcheese76 well if you 15 now , live the life like no tomorrow (i'm 30 now , and can say , cover in security, the fucking time dont wait us. "the man don't born to learn how to live, born TO LIVE) go go go

  • WHERE ARE THE 90´S ?

  • @nevermind182 Right between the 80s and the noughties....... : )

  • L7 = 69 for Lesbians

  • LOL Dave is talking to them like children. Haha I know he's joking but Donita was nearly THIRTY when they recorded this! Love her. :D

  • ...and what's up w having to ground the "girls" after playing? Patriarchy anyone? Sheesh!

  • @LB20005 its called humor, sheesh.

  • These girls were mad

  • Never understood why Paul's band used to always play with the guest band. Not needed. Especially here. L7 destroyed. Awesome.

  • @DeadlyCreatures : Yeah but check Paul out, he's loving it!

  • @JCMcGee He better have been!

  • that was fun!!!!

  • Whats up with the house band joining in???

  • Emo is Madonna having a try at grunge, it's for girls... end of.

  • i dig the oil painting

  • Who' s the OTHER band??

    :-o

..... are they the live band?

  • this was when it was acceptable for girls to wear boys clothes and still snatch up good looking men. Why does everything have to change every 10 years???????????

  • @1BigSonicBoom1 they are gorgeous in torn jeans and scruffy hair... man i wish we could rewind time

  • My kind of gals!

  • Those girls rocked !!!! I want bands like this again.....

  • they dont make them like this anymore, they broke the mold.

  • @Sickofu100 Dreadful. I would say from late 1997-98 even.

  • 2:20 come on come on come o... *drops drumstick* LMAO

  • What I don't get about this,.. why is there another drummer, bass player and guitar player in the background???

It completely isn't needed, this kind of music works much better stripped down.

I never watch Letterman, is this the norm on his show? Kind of defeats the purpose of having a band even play to me.

That said, they overcame this and it's a great performance.

  • @hpl138 on Letterman, the house band sometimes joins in with the guest band.

  • I can't believe I've only found about this band now. God music sucks now.

  • L7 = Hell's Heaven

they could still suggest to young women of nowadays...not how to be pretty following the conditions of the media-make up world, but understanding that a better beauty is brought by being genuine and not fake as stupid men accept just to see apparent "prettyfulness"

    anyway... L7 rock !

  • no bare vagina in this version..

  • GOD THAT SINGER IS HOT.

  • It is said that L7 is a 1950s slang word for 'square'. Are they considered grunge?

  • Two basses?... Finch and some other random guy on the side..

  • @LkAuYrNtE

The Guy was one of Paul Schaffer's band

  • OMG DRUM ASS KICKING :)

SHALL WE DESTROY EVERYTHING AFTER ALL THE SHOWS?

  • wow... those ladies rock! :D

  • che merde

  • I love them they the most talented and most beautiful female grunge rock band in history:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:XI love you,Donita Sparks,i will marry you:X:X:X:X

  • Paul Schaffer really knows how to ruin a performance.

  • I am the wrong crowd...

  • I love this song. Looks like their concerts are a blast.

  • I heard this song on the radio, and I just coulda sworn that it was a guy singing. Then I look up L7 online, and I'm like "Oh, shit, it's an all-female band? Huh." I mean, Donita Sparks has that voice that could sound like either male or female. But L7 is the shit!

  • @cnavaro88 It was an old bebop term in the 50's...it means square....an L and a 7 makes a square. Ha...unless you were just kidding about Lesbian 7?

  • @L7JETT Kids an L7 Weenie lol

  • @L7JETT Nope, their name comes from the Classic Lab series "L7" Bass-amp.

  • @skald9 sorry man, I'm a huge L7 fan (ha...obviously by all the vids) but it is well documented by all the various band members in interviews in magazine and in some of the interviews I have posted here that it comes from the 50s bebop slang.

  • @skald9 It's a 50's term for square!! Your all wrong...

  • @DINGLE8972 "Your all wrong" ? Isn't that what I said "50s bebop slang"

  • @cnavaro88 means "Square" check how L7 looks like an square if you do with your both hands "L" "7"

  • @cnavaro88 wow...

  • LOL @ Letterman!

  • Donita looks drunk off her ass

  • the drummer's so cute! funny when she dropped her drumstick!

  • the fuck!!!! i know everything from the pistols to marilyn manson but this shocks even me!!!! the fuck!!!! so much fucking energy... just listen to the guitars and the drums at the end... monsterwomen making monstersound!!! to see that live must have been awesome!!!!

  • Lol on 3:58!!!

  • pra mim, uma das bandas femininas mais foda do rock ....!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love used Tampons, If I woulda caught her tampon, I would have licked off the blood clots, then taken it home to add to my collection!!!!

  • I Remember when she removed her used tampon on-stage and threw it into the crowd yelling "Eat my used tampon, fuckers!"

Shit man, that was fucking hilarious and unsanitary

  • I always thought these chicks would clean up nice.

  • Why did L7 get rid of that bass player? She fucking SMOKED!

  • @Whistlechops Yes indeed, Jennifer rocked. They didnt get rid of her, she left the band and later put her own band together.

  • Respond to this video... I loved L7....I think Letterman sucked raw eggs for requiring the band to be "backed" by his muscians. What a joke!.

  • @Nightsurf59 Check out the video of Dinosaur Jr playing "The Wagon" on Letterman back in the day, Lettermans house band guitarist tries to upstage J Mascis (God), J was not going to let that happen and at about the 1:40 minute mark J lets the most unholy, amazing solo rip.... Making lettermans guitarist look like a complete amateur. It's one of the best Dino Jr/Mascis moments ever captured on film :)

  • i saw L7 support Faith No More and they were much better live than them....great gig :)

  • I've seen these a few times and they did some kick ass shows! They never sold out for better sound, they kept it on the egde and raw!

There are two drummers because that is Lettermans in house band, jamming along with them.

  • why there are 2 drummers?

  • 2 guitarists = 1 drummer

I know there are 5 but the half drummer wasn't at the studio on time because he didn't have an upper body

  • She launched that stick

  • yeah she lose the drum stick o.o

  • 2:20 did she loose the drum stick?

  • @ImIwilliamImI yeah, good call!

  • Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner are real skillful guitarists.Demetra Plakas is a real skillful drummer and Jennifer Finch is a skillful bassist together with Janis Tanaka & Gail Greenwood.L7 are a great all female-grunge band whose members(such as Donita,Suzi, etc.) are very masterful musicians!! L7 4ever!!!

  • They really were very pretty when they were dolled up. As far as the tampon thing...yeah it was gross..that was the point...it pissed people off and offended people. That and with their kick ass music, that is what rock n roll is all about. Alice Cooper, Wasp, Ozzy all did gross and shocking things....girls can too!

  • @feverdog34 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The chucking of the tampon? The assholes in that crowd deserved it. Too bad that kind of thing doesn't happen more often. If it did, maybe more ignorant men would learn to keep their mouths shut.

  • @feverdog34 if you think they're ugly try Sex Pistols.... and also fuck you

  • @feverdog34 fuck.you.

  • @feverdog34

Don't you dare diss the Ramones dude.

  • EARLY 90'S FUCKING KICK ASS

  • all of the 90's did

  • jazus letterman looks young, he actually has hair

  • yea... David letterman is getting old =(

  • you cant find good music like this anymore! L7 rules!!

  • he best guitar orintated band of all fucking time hands down and fucking thmbs up

  • 4:32

    Aha!

I think we know how that all turned out for him....

  • this is the ancestors of emo trend??? remember me when i used to play GTA san andreas...

  • Don't ever compare Grunge and Emo they aren't related whatsoever

  • This was probably around '92, before emo had even really started in the underground.

  • depends on what 'emo' your talking about.

if you mean Rites of Spring and Fugazi then that had already started a few years before this, but if you mean the shit we hve today, then yes, yer kerrekt

  • When I hear "emo" I think Boys Like Girls, Dashboard Confessional, Fall Out Boy, etc. Or in other words, "the shit we have today". A bunch of talentless whiny losers who can't play their instruments or sing worth SHIT and have 13 year old followers who wear tight pants and mope around acting like they invented cutting and being sad, when really all they're doing is preventing people who actually are depressed and hurt themselves from getting attention and help.

  • indeed!

  • @butterandcheese92 : Naw, that's just run of the mill pop-rock.

  • Oops! Didn't see your first comment that said "ancestors". Regardless, this band's style was very grungy, and I'm sure emos took some fashion tips from the grunge era - but they don't look near as cool as this!

  • WTF they nothing like emo's sort your life out.

  • the difference is one is awesome and the other a complete pile of shit

  • because grunge is real music

  • Yeah. Exactly.

  • @KeVoRkIaN7 Fucking right.

  • @KeVoRkIaN7 damn right!

  • @KeVoRkIaN7 dont compare emo and what they pass off as "emo" nowadays

  • @KeVoRkIaN7 ...well, they both have guitars and drums and basses...

  • @KeVoRkIaN7 i learned that when one of those girls punched me in the effing face...

  • @KeVoRkIaN7 They aren't related in terms of style, but would you at least agree that they are counterparts of each other? Generation X had grunge, and now the current Generation Y has Emo Rock. And for the record, I think Emo sucks compared to grunge I just think that Emo is to Gen Y as Grunge is to Gen X.

  • @KeVoRkIaN7 You can compare them, it's simple really, emo are the crying little pussy assed bitches that tried to be Grunge, but realized the suck harder then a shop vac connected to a car battery and made songs crying about how much they suck and started listening to each other's solidified shit pulled from the bottom of a septic tank and, sorry I meant "emo music".

  • That's Paul Shauffer and the band, they usually play along with the guest bands. I saw L7 and Greenday @ lollapalooza 1994.

  • those are cool chicks. lol

  • GODDAMN!!! three guitars, two basses, two drum sets, and a synthesizer! these girls rock fucking hard!!!

  • These hard rockin' chicks (formerly from Seattle) showed their s#*t on Liberalman's show. Could've gone without his comments though.

  • They're actually from LA except one is originally from Seattle. The bassist, singer and drummer are from LA. I have known the bass player Jenifer for 28 years.

  • what's with the support band.... the chicks were so spaced out they felt it came in handy?

  • these assholes think they're cool when they try to play along...

  • they hyped on coke!!~!~!~~!
