@zeppelo I would say that when KW ebayed their vocoder, it signified ending it all. They went right from hardcore analog gear to the glow of a twelve-inch screen ...
not the sort of thing you could play to a full room. but still fun. though i'd say if you've got the money to own 2 of these you owe it to those of us without one to share some reaally different sounds. not putting you down, it just hurts knowing how much potential there is in those things. note: autechre
bangin stuff man, bixiecribs is talkin shit, I know techno and I know gaming and while im sure the monomachine can recreate old skool gaming music, whats playin here is some straight up funkyass techno, end of.
Even though they are really not in the same category, I prefer what u have below 100 times more. the andromeda is by far my favorite synth. And most people who owns it doesnt know how monstrous it can be. Its sick. But they, elektron is cool anyway ..
Can you do lush textures with them? Drop some soft pads? and are the drums in this coming from a machinedrum or are they on board?
sorry for the question barrage, man. after seeing this and a few other vids I been pretty well convinced that a monomachine is the way to go. Nothing feels like good gear, and I never could get into all that reason/logic crap. I NEED the gear in my hands.
@ddaynyc I have a 505 and I've seen many, many machinedrum videos... trust me when I say that the machinedrum is worth the price... I dont own one because i just cant afford it but they are sick as hell. the mc-505 sucks balls compared to anything elektron makes... but get a UW version, being able to use your own samples in that crazy machinedrum environment makes for amazing shit.
i've had rebirth since the early 90's, i love rebirth, to me i could make rebirth sound like this. but many ppl make shit music, i think the lack of practice and eagerness of posting thier song makes them look like fools. i fucked with it for days on end for months.
It's funny how people rave about these expensive machines, yet so often create awful, cheesy, 90's video-game music with them. Actually, most 90's video-games feature better music! I know some major producers do good work with Elektron gear, but the vast majority of Elektron fanboys just produce corny garbage like this.
Actually, "bixiecribs" what is really funny is how much of a pleb you have made yourself look posting comments like that. Because it is now clear to me how little you know about 90's video games, music, me, and Elektron gear.
Well to me cheesy means sounds that are overly used and common, or aiming for commercial success. What do you think cheesy means? I notice you like Flat Beat, some people would say that is cheesy, so whatever.
for me it's the way of sound processing. simple unprocessed (raw) sounds often have that kind of preset sound. and of course what you said, the overly used and common sounds. for example your snare could be just a standard 808 snare sample (i know, the monomachine is not sample based, but still it sounds as if the snare was). i also know about the work behind building sounds in the monomachine (i sometimes use it in a friend's studio). in short: it's just not my taste of sound design ;)
funny how we start to compare everything to rolands olddddddddd ass shit that was so cheap back then, like its some fucking standerd grade shit, we all need to face that yes it does take a little effort to make awsome stuff, but we all dont want to conform into something we pretty much set ourselfs up for/., we all hate trendy stuff but fuck brewss! still sounds so goooooodd : ] sick vid mate
this sounds ok, it just needs proper mixing and mastering
You cant compare a mastered album from a known artist with a live recorded video with no processing + crappy youtube quality
Also notice how he only is using 1 machine. Im sure he make it sound better if he threw more in the mix
Also if you want a good demo of a machine its better to watch an unprocessed video like this one and not an official video with tons of eqing, reverb and compression
this is badass :D i had a machine drum.. i loved it when it worked. after having to send it back to sweeden 4 times i sold it.. id love to try again now that they have been out for a while... never messed with a monomachine but based on this song... id like it a lot heh
I have a MNM and I'm trying to figure out what you're doing. It looks like you're either muting and unmuting tracks by pressing trigs without holding funtion and selecting a track. or changing patterns by pressing trigs without selecting a bank. some impressive results here bro, but i still feel the monomachine is too much effort for some good results. I rate you for getting some smooth beats otu of this, but i had one for 3 months and that was enough for me..and ive spent years using nearly everything under the sun.

I have a MNM and I'm trying to figure out what you're doing. It looks like you're either muting and unmuting tracks by pressing trigs without holding funtion and selecting a track. or changing patterns by pressing trigs without selecting a bank. Please explain how you're working. It seems like a cool way to work. I'm using a sfx60 MKII so could this be why this looks different. Are you playing in a mode other than grid recording mode?
